My friend & metal roofer only uses this screw for installing metal roofs on customers houses. He did my house several years ago and it has gone through several hurricanes with no roofing problem!! He has done several beach houses down at Keaton Beach, FL that have taken direct hurricane hits with no roofing problems. Most all of the common shingle roof houses in the area were totally ripped off; not the galvanized metal roofs installed with these metal roofing screws; not the long narrow metal roof screws you find at Lowe's. My son down in SW GA went through Hurricane Michael in 2018 when it crossed over the FL-GA state line as a Category 2 hurricane 5 miles from his house. He had recently put a metal roof on his house using these screws; he had no problem with his roof as the "eye" of the hurricane crossed over his house!!

Excellent roofing scew
Don't use anything else. I've bought 3 thousand so far and am in the process of replacing my old screws on my entire roof.

They work as they are intended to
They punch through the 22ga metal like butter, but they have a hard time penetrating the 16ga pipe I'm attaching the tin to. I should've used self-drilling tips instead.

Sealing up metal building from the 60’s
I’ve bought these a few times through Jakes, slowly but surely replacing all the fasteners on a 6000sq foot shop. All the old fasteners from back in the 60’s have started deteriorating causing leaks everywhere inside.Anywhere I’ve replaced old fasteners with these the drips and water have stopped.Have had some in for over a year now and no backing out or leaks from the seal.Be cautious not to completely crush or tear the epdm seal when tightening.Will buy again.

These work great in steel roof to OSB
The #9 screws that came with my roofing kept stripping out. Then I learned #14 are the preference for OSB. I got these 1" ones because the 1.5" and 2" ones seemed overkill. These worked great.
