Hot Shot Vapor 4 Release, Black

This is a reliable and comfortable release. It is well engineered and predictable. Bought a second as a backup as well.

Bought release in October 2021 and put approximately 50 arrows through it before release would no longer hold arrow without prematurely releasing arrow (yes, I adjusted tension screw). I took release apart and cleaned everything but nothing fixed it. Even contacted seller about a replacement and never received a reply. Maybe I received a dud but I will be looking elsewhere for my next thumb release

Great release, it’s a little pricy just as all good releases are but a little cheaper than competition. It will preserve your d loop as it is single caliper and smooth (brass I think). Any one who says it misfires hasn’t adjusted it with the small screw near the trigger if it is to far in it will fire prematurely.Overall a great release for the price that I would greatly recommend.

This is my first hand release. Coming from a wrist. This release is awesome. Did my research before I bought it. And I’m not disappointed.

Amazing. First time shooting a thumb release. To say it tightened up my groups is an understatement. The Vapor 4 is comfortable and easy to adjust. There are excellent YouTube videos on adjustment. Fit and finish are superb. Only minor issue is I would have liked to adjust trigger tension without removing the thumb barrel. Once I get my thumb barrel adjusted I don't want to have to move it and re-position just to adjust the trigger tension. Again, a minor issue. Otherwise, I can't say enough about this release. Been shooting compounds for over 10 years. My prior release was a Scott Wildkat trigger release. On a heavier let-off bow the trigger release is OK. But, on my 80% let-off Bowtech Commander (old school) the Hot Shot Vapor 4 made a world of difference.

Very adjustable and has helped me clean up my shooting. Coming from a wrist strap release I am able to anchor more consistent and pull through the shot cleaner. It took a few weeks to heavy shooting to make the shift from wrist strap to thumb trigger but well worth the accuracy improvement.

A lot of great reviews on this so not sure if I received a dud or not. Mine misfired numerous times when I first received it. Adjusted the trigger and it shot fine for a couple of outings but again misfired 3 more times before I had no confidence left. I drove an hour to buy a Scott wrist release and it took days to truly trust my release again. Price was good and not sure how return would be handled but doesn’t matter I personally won’t shoot anything but Scott or Carter ever again.

Feels well made, fits in hand great. Shot over 500 arrows with no concerns so far.

Should have just bought locally, taxes, duties etc. made it a loss economically.
