Can i us this without an additional hub or smart thermostat?

Unfortunately, the HR91 TRVs can only be controlled in conjunction with the evohome controller ATC928G3000.

The HR91 Thermostatic Radiator Valve cannot be connected directly to a Wi-Fi connection and controlled through an online application.

It needs a device that has the possibility to be connected to the internet and controlled remotely.

The only device that offers this possibility is evohome WiFi controller or the 2nd generation of evohome controller connected through the RFG100 gateway.

Does this controller work with HomeKit as advertised?

Hello, thank you for your interest in our products.

At this time, evohome is not integrated with Apple HomeKit.

We are constantly evaluating the offerings in the connected home arena and determining and resetting priorities. Future integration with Apple HomeKit is a distinct possibility but we are unable to commit to any dates at this time.

Please bare in mind that the Apple HomeKit is just one eco-system and evohome plays nicely with Google Home, Amazon's Alexa, and IFTTT.

For users that specifically want Apple HomeKit support the T6 Lyric Thermostat is the best option.

Hi can i hardwire 4 thermostats to this controller as opposed to wireless options Thanks.

Thank you for your interest in our products.

Unfortunately, the evohome system is a full wireless system so no wires can be involved.

evohome is a wireless zoning system. No components can be hard wired to the evohome controller.

The boiler is connected to a boiler controller, BDR91, which communicates directly with the evohome controller by RF.

Honeywell Home wireless controls operate at 868 MHz.

The operating range is a maximum of 30 metres.

Where multiple wireless devices  are fitted in the same property it is essential that the receivers are installed at least 30cm apart from each other. The receivers should also be installed at least 30cm away from other sources of interference such as other wireless devices, electrical installations and solid metal objects (including the boiler).

If communication between the sender and receiver is continually lost then consideration should be given to relocating one or other of the devices. All of the Honeywell Home wireless devices feature a wireless signal strength test facility and the signal strength should be tested. If necessary the devices should be moved until a good signal strength is achieved.

In rare cases it is possible that a wireless device will not work in a specific situation and the cause of this is not always able to be determined. If relocating devices cannot overcome the problem then consideration needs to be given to installing a hard wired device.

How do i know when the batteries need changed? do the hr91 post a status message to the evohome wifi when batteries are low?running
