Super High Quality Leather Case-Much Better Than The Amazon Description!
When I ordered this case for my new iPad2 I didn't know it would be quite as nice as it is. I ordered it on the basis of recommendations and reviews here, with something like 90% of the owners voting for it with 5-Star reviews. The packaging is even low-key and gives no clue to how luxurious and nice the leather case actually is, literally hiding the features and neat leather smells and feel of the case. The stitching on the case reminds of a Mercedes-Benz's leather wrapped dash and door-top leather crests, ie it's "standout" stitching that is meant to look great, giving the leather some contrast with its off-white color which stands out from the nice, grainy-smooth black leather surfaces. The iPad2 rests inside of the leather case's cushion-like soft, velour inside lining, which at the top has a heavy leather/velcro "catch" that holds the iPad2 in place in the case very strongly--I mean the iPad2 isn't going anywhere with that case "catch" holding the iPad rigidly inside the case. I can't tell you adequately how the velour looks without using a lot of superlatives, but it's really groovy stuff, and it's on the entire inside surfaces of the case including the cover's backside, which also has a nifty leather/heavy spandex "handle" for carrying the iPad2 during use, for instance during a FaceTime chat, or carrying it across the room to another station...wherever one would normally grip the iPad2's sides and back for carrying it "bare" is eliminated with the nice strap's arrangement. That's a nifty feature that I haven't seen on any other case, so Kudos to the people at Snugg for designing into this leather case some very useful features! The case cover easily folds into a "triangle", the bottom of which (about 3.5" section for sitting the iPad2 upright in landscape mode for viewing videos, FaceTime, etc) is the iPad2's "resting position" stand, another great feature of the leather case. Conversely, the case cover snaps into a perfect "typing position" also with the cover and the triangle effect lifting the iPad2's body up into about a 5-6-degree angle from being flat, which works perfect for typing fast on the virtual keyboard. The front camera, such as it is on the iPad2, is not obscured by the leather case, with the rear camera's "hole" being inset perfectly in the backside of the leather case. Access to the ports for controlling sound/volume and the Off/On switch, plus the docking port itself is also open and easy to get to for charging, docking, and syncing with the computer. The people who designed this leather case did their homework and did it right, a good thing, as the iPad2 is protected 100%-- including the corners which are vulnerable during any fall (which I hopefully will never have happen, but you never know about accidents...they can happen in spite of being careful) because the corners are full and longer than the iPad's corners are...thus they cover the iPad corners perfectly, another great design feature of this case. The "Home Button" is fully open and easy to use, with a looping gap in the bottom of the case providing access. That stitching is all over this case, the corners are stitched, the sides and back are stitched, in short the stitching is everywhere that there's a stress point in the case and it makes the case somewhat rigid there, giving the shape a long-term support because over time a case without stitching like this case has would lose its shape, and not be effective at protecting the iPad2.If you like "leather smell" you won't be disappointed with the smell of this case at all, because it can sort of "reek of leather" if it's been inside of a larger case for example, like my Timbuk2 travel case for the iPad2 and my Acer One netbook, along with all their accessories...and the smell is a good thing for my nose, as I love the smell of leather anytime! The Snugg leather iPad2 case has it all: it's designed correctly for the shape and ports of the iPad2; the leather is durable, and strong, and luxurious all in one, its finish is like a rough-leather grained bag for comparison with a smooth leather...this is harder, and stronger like it should be for a case like this; the "stand up" feature and "typing position" feature are well thought out and it's easy to fold the top cover into the proper shape for each position; the carry "handle" made of leather and spandex is a great touch also; so overall the design of the Snugg leather case for iPad2 is all-featured and yet it protects the iPad2 completely also. The case's rating at No.2 in the ranking for cases of all types here says a lot about what people think of this case, how they rate it in the reviews, and of course they must be pretty satisfied with their purchases to give the case so many positive write-ups.As for the magnetic properties of the case and how it puts the iPad2 to sleep and then wakes it up when you open the cover, I think that is another great feature of the case. I don't find a problem there at all, and it does what it should do. I want my iPad2 to sleep inside the cover. It should wake up when I open it, and it does...so another good design feature there with the magnets at the top of the case cover, which match the iPad2's magnets and it performs the sleep and wake functions perfectly. This is definitely the case for me, and maybe you too...the Snugg leather case for iPad2 is worthy of its many 5-star reviews here at Amazon.com...it's a really nice value-priced leather case with everything possible thought out by the designers completely, and executed 100%. I couldn't find a weakness and I'm very glad I bought it...this is one leather case that lives up to its billing, and then some. Five stars here, and well worth it!Wavey Davey - 5-31-2011

Good product so far updated for iPad mini
Really 4 1/2 stars. I would have preferred it be lighter weight. That is why not 5 stars. At first, my ipad 2 would not go into sleep mode. I took it out of the case, cleaned everything off and tried again. Still no luck. Then I noticed the name on the cover was upside down. So, turned the iPad around and re-inserted it into the case and it worked fine after that. It looks like the round cutout should be over the screen button. However, that is not the case. The round opening actually goes over the camera. It holds the iPad 2 very securely and seems to provide good protection. The magnets work well and the cover stays tightly closed when iPad not in use.The smart cover works well (when iPad inserted correctly, LOL), putting the iPad to sleep and waking it quickly.Cons: really very minor ones1-wish it were a little lighter, but it really is not heavy, just heavier than my previous cover2-wish the hand strap was closer to the left side. It is too far right for me to use, since I hold my ipad in my left hand not my right.3-the corners are exposed, so no extra protection for the corners.4-the cover is rather stiff, would have preferred it to be more like soft leather.Summary- very good product at a great price. I recommend it for the iPad 2.Update 4/14/13Now changing to 3 stars. After only a couple of weeks, some of the stitching is beginning to fray in places on the front and on the back.I keep having to push the iPad to the side in order to connect the charger, the opening isn't quite in the right place. The cover tends to buckle when placed in the 'stand' mode. Also, the tab/slot is about an inch or so too low, so the angle is off just a bit for reading or typing.Smart cover feature still works well. and of course the price is great. But when I compare this cover to my older Roo cover, it just doesn't match up. Unfortunately, it looks like they no longer make the same version of the Roo cover I purchased when I first got my ipad2 or I would have bought another one.The Snugg cover is still 'good'...just not great or even 'very good'.Update 8/8/2014 for my new iPad mini with Retina Display3 1/2 starsI did not remember that I had purchased this case for my iPad 2 when I purchased one for my new iPad Mini with Retina Display. It does not fit the mini perfectly. The left side of the cover obstructs clicking on my email check box. If I turn it upside down, home button on top, I can open my email fine.I also had a problem lining it up correctly so the smart cover would turn the iPad mini off. It is off just a tiny fraction. But, because so far, everything else seems good and I did manage to line the cover up so the smart close works, I gave it 3 1/2 stars.I do wish I had done more research for my case, though.

Quality and worth the cost.
After accepting that I needed to stop succumbing to cheaper cases that wore easily and broke, I understood it was necessary to trump up a little bit more money for something better and long lasting. The case itself feels good and like nice quality, I bought it for my partner to make for the previous case that fell to pieces, he loves it and it makes for a nice little present.I find that the Ipad2 does not sit perfectly (which is why I did not give it 5 stars), it shifts slightly so that the camera isn't exactly aligned with the hole. The sleep and wake function works fine and it feels stable and solid when on a table. The stitching has not worn or fulled apart like it has on other cases I have had.Overall, a great product.

meh...
Its alright, I mean it does what it says it'll do....kind of.What I mean is, it fits well arrived swiftly and does a really good job of protecting the pad.butwhen you flip it to table top mode (or whatever you call it when you fold the back into the little slot to place the pad at a jaunty angle to type into), it doesn't sit properly, the cover has a double fold in the rear quarter that kind of induces some flexibility and a fair bit of bounce as you type, the same fold makes it tricky to make the cover stand in tv mode as it wants to let the pad fall over if you dont manually straighten out the fold first.i take the cover off at weekends and mostly only use it when travelling around town to meetings.

Lovely iPad case
I bought one of these 15 months ago when I first had my iPad, old one has worn a bit where the sides have caught the suede, but wanted one that had the stylus pen with it. I contacted Amazon to return this as I COULDN'T FIND THE STYLUS PEN HOLDER. It was only when I removed the foam packaging that I found it to be tucked right inside ! Lovely soft leather/ suede, keeping my iPad well protected. I use it daily. I like the various ways that it lets you stand the iPad up, and it's great when taking pictures/ videos as the palm holder stops you dropping the iPad when recording/ taking pics. An altogether brilliant case, well recommended, wouldn't use another case, I researched these before buying before.

Snugg i-Pad2 cover
I studied reviews before ordering this product. As usual with Amazon it arrived promptly and in good condition. However I was thrown by the packaging which stated that it was made for the iPad3/New iPad. As my iPad did not appear to fit very well I began to wonder if I had been sent the wrong cover by mistake. The invoice stated that it was for the iPad2 so I contacted Amazon and was promised a returns envelope, but then I decided to try again and the iPad did just slip in and the case works a treat. In my feedback to Amazon I suggested that they could avoid such confusion by better communication - evidently the two versions of iPad have identical dimensions.

Giving my iPad the status it deserves
I first saw the Snugg case when I watched an Arts programme presented by Andrew Graham-Dixon, That's for me I thought. And so it has proved to be. Somewhere to put the stylus which I was forever losing; and a case that allows the iPad to stand up, hands free. What I especially like, apart from its looks, is the fact that it switches off the iPad everytime the cover is closed. You hear a satisfying click that tells you it's shut-down.Why didn't I know about the Snugg case when I first bought my iPad? Instead I bought inferior ones, which I've now had great satisfaction in binning.
