Will it keep warm in cold weather?

No, not really. The flight suit is not cold weather rated. I’ve worn this style flight suit in 130 deg weather, all the way down to negatives. Anything under 50 deg, and you are going to start to need to add layers underneath, and or a jacket over the top.

Flight suit fits me well. Does anyone know where I can get a name patch?

Just do an online search for aircrew name tags. Mardon use to do all military but has gone out of business.

Sizing? Is this measurement across chest or waist size.

The chest size chart is for the chest and not the waist. The waist has an elastic band for some flexibility.

how much do the ankles expand? most civilian suits only expand 2.5 inches

It looks to be 2", however with the zipper undone, that makes it a very generous 20" in diameter at the ankle.
