Great aerial for a solid 5G signal
Seems very good - I installed this to replace my dependency on very poor BT "fibre" delivering 12 down 1 up mbs at a cost of £55.00 per month. Now I have 5G from a mast 5 miles away giving me 100 down 30 up mbs at £25.00 pm. Paid for itself and the router in 6 months and more than 8 x the performance.

Wow! What a difference!
My holiday home is in a remote location a fair distance from the EE mast and although I could lock my router to a 5g signal and get 20-30meg download, with only 1 bar of signal I frequently lost connection in poor weather conditions. Despite the price I thought this was worth a punt as the reviews were favourable and I wasn’t disappointed. I downloaded a mobile mast location app on my phone so it made installation easy as I was able to roughly point in the direction of the nearest EE mast and ran the cable into the property and connected to my router. Despite no fine tuning at all, I am pleased to see a vast increase in 5G speeds of between 200-300meg although the upload increases are more modest this is truly magnificent and ensures we can stream 4k TV and the kids can play on their devices too without any issues at all. The item is bigger than I was expecting and to anyone having issues I certainly recommend the following: 1. Download an app to get the locations of your local mobile masts as this is a directional antenna and needs to be pointed towards the mast. 2. Don’t forget to check your router settings too as mine had to be manually set to use the external antenna. 3. Don’t forget you’ll also need a mounting pole although the clips, screws and plate are all included in the box.

Big improvement
Quality product - it has been mounted on the side of the property on an old sky dish pole. Its made a big difference - was possibly hoping for a bit more… but its banished the wheel of doom for now!

Works Well, But You Need to Optimise Router Settings
We recently upgraded our home wifi to include a TP-Link X50-5G router. As we live in a rural area we have to use 4G/5G as there is only BT standard telephone wire connection. The router using internal aerial managed 2 bars @ RSRP -114 on the Smarty network, with the Poynting connected 2 bars @ RSRP -112. After a little research and tweaking it's 4 bars @ RSRP -70. The trick was to tell the router to ignore Smarty bands and only use B8/B20 which are the nearest Vodaphone cell tower. This is with the aerial located on an upstairs internal window ledge, once pole mounted it should improve again.

A SUPERB AERIAL 😊
Been using this aerial for about 3 weeks Superb ! Costly but certainly does what it says it will do Viewed reviews on line and explanations of its construction Well worth a look Speed-test it regularly (ookla) Generally 17-13. 20-14 . 22-15. 29-21. As examples ( down -up) Always constantly 4 or of 5 bars on o2 network and linked to Netgear Nighthawk. I’m in a notorious bad o2 signal area but VERY pleased with this Poynting aerial Easy to set up ( it’s directional) Superb streaming It’s only down side will be it’s pricey However in this case you do get what you are paying for Have tried at least 3 other “cheaper “ aerials absolutely no comparison If you want a reliable signal and constant do go for the Poynting xpol 2-5g Highly recommend Malc P

Totally not worth the money imo.
Total waste of money!! Did not increase my internet speed from my current antena, which was less than a quarter of the price of this. If anything even made my speed more unstable. would return if I could

An aerial that actually works!
So like others I tried cheap aerials and got no difference on our Gigacube compared to its internal aerials. But this one really did make a difference. We went from about 25MB on 4G to 120MB+ on a mix of 4G/5G. So it does work. However the Gigacube is weird. If you move the router leaving the aerial in the same place your connection rates vary. So it's still using its internal aerials somehow. But whatever, the end result was that it's over five times faster and the whole family is delighted with their zooms and video gaming. So we're keeping it. It took several hours to work out the best spot. For us, this was simply in the attic, with the router and aerial inside the roof space. Sounds crazy, but it worked better than being outside and it was much easier to fit! Although I thought this aerial was not directional, I found slight movements did make a big difference. The unit is pretty big and a very ugly white, so I'm glad it's not outside the house. Yes, you can get it quite a bit cheaper elsewhere, but with Amazon you pay the extra to have that guarantee of being able to return it. And with broadband aerials, that's a wise policy because you've no idea if it'll work in your situation!

Worked a treat
We struggled for a couple of years to try and get some decent Internet in our rural area in Cheshire. After trying many different approaches we decided to go for an aerial at the highest point that was suitable. We added to this a TP link router and a Smarty data Sim and we now get on average 40 MB throughout the house using a Google Mesh system. This has been a revelation and has changed our viewing as we can now stream without problem and have no issues now getting access to the Internet.
