Oceans Wonders Coralline Purple Reef Safe Epoxy Putty

This product was recommended on BRStv on youTube. aka Bulk Reef Supply at one point and so I tried it out. I thought it worked great and love the color, however, I noticed once it’s been in the water for a few weeks if you touch it or scrub it with tooth brush it’s flakes and dust creates a kind of cloudy substance when disturbed. On the plus’s side easy to scrape off if you need to remove it. The worst part about it is the smell when you take it out of the package, it’s pungent but once in the water you don’t smell it. You break off what you need, feels like silly putty, you knead it for about 5 minutes, make sure your hands are dry, once the color is mixed, apply it in your tank where needed. If your hands are wet while kneading it crumbles and is useless really. So I knead it and place it where I need it. My tank has been set up for a year. I had a few aptasia and used the epoxy to cover crevices and holes they were in. No more aptasia.

Let’s be honest when you’re dealing with epoxy or glue and lives rocks in general for your aquarium it’s just gonna be messy and complicated to work with. BUT I TOOK lip of fate (after watching a young lady’s vid ).Graciously ,I’m very please. Yes it dries quick , but I figured it out right away. (1)- work in small quantity , sometime even SMALLER amount , (2)- wear one glove on your dominant Hand (only). (3)- work in your fingers using both hands , for about 15-20 sec or when the color it’s about 95% Consistency. (that’s about the time i figured its ready, any longer it starts to harden) and 10-15 sec to apply in place . (4) apply it in the center between the rocks and hold with rubber-bands let it settle for about 30mins. (5) comeback and start again to fill all around the edges and crevices to make your aqua scape looks more uniform/one piece. #GOODLUCK! And Be Patient.Ps: if it’s starts to stick to fingers THATS the indication you’re over mixing and should have been applying it to the liverocks instead. I would normally use weldwater epoxy, but it didn’t seem to hold like this thing.Yes ; it smell (but not horribly )Yes ; it’s safe for aquarium (+)Yes ; color it’s on point (see pics)Yes; it dries (quickly after 30sec)Yes ; great amount up to 20 bls liverocks.

I had a silver dollar sized xenia frag that just wouldn't stay put no matter how much super glue gel I used. I molded this epoxy around the sides of the frag and and placed a huge gob on the bottom and used my fingers to smoosh it into my live rock. It hardens quickly under water so you need to work fast. Does not stick to flat parts of your rock though. It definitely needs crevices to sink into and grab hold of.

Great product but grain size is too small. Blows all over the tank

Just wanted to update my review to state that 7 months later and it is still holding strong in my tank. Rockwork still solid and none of the animals (corals, pods, inverts, and fish) have been affected by any chemicals or anything. It stunk to high heaven out of the package and was quite expensive for what little amount of clay you get, but it has done its job as far as I can tell.Original Review:"Can't really say one way or the other right now as it is not yet in a working system. I will update once I see how it actually holds up under water.Addressing those who complained about how non-sticky this is......THIS IS NOT AN ADHESIVE i.e. this is not a glue. This is an epoxy that hardens into place and cures in an hour or so. Think of this more as clay that hardens on its own. You place your rocks on each other how you want them and then pack this stuff along the seams so that when it hardens it is providing a strong support base around where the rocks meet, preventing tipping/collapse. It works best when the rocks are stacked to where they naturally stay in place and you are using this epoxy to just add that extra layer of security against accidental collapse.As noted by others, this stuff stinks pretty bad. You need to knead/mix it up prior to use in order to "activate" it, and it becomes a bit tacky to the touch. I got some of this on my fingers and three days later after multiple scrubs/washes I can still smell residual odors."

I tried this putty a few different ways (submerged, dry, and wet rock) and never did it actually stick. It hardened fine but the rocks would not be stuck together and the hardened putty could easily be taken off entirely.The smell is similar to m@rihuaha and is VERY strong.

If your using dry rock, not wet, this stuff works great. Dont forget to knead it to activate it. Hardens superfast so have a plan beforehand for how you want your pieces placed. It is much more tiny than expected. I had to buy several sticks. Basically one stick for each connection. Too expensive. But it works so great and the color makes it look more natural. I used the dry live carib sea rocks

This putty is my go-to for gluing rocks in a reef tank I've been using this brand for a few years and works every time..two things to remember though (1) be sure to have adequate ventilation when using due to very pungent odors and (2) once you've "kneaded" the two compounds together you have literally 2 or 3 minutes to apply before it becomes rock hard and rendered impossible to use..if you need an epoxy for water application get this one I totally recommend it
