Great replacement key - smaller and more convenient
The keys with the display are larger and require you to type in the six digits. These keys allow you to just press a button. Works great.

Con el tiempo se oxida y se daña.
Como llave de seguridad está bien. Pero vas a tener que cuidarla ya que llega a oxidarse si no la cuidas. Lo que hace que al final deje de servir.

Old technology, useless with Fidelity, DO NOT BUY.
Turns out after the fact that Fidelity Investments discontinued any use of hardware tokens with Symantec VIP access years ago. They still use VIP access, but ONLY through a dedicated (irritating) software app. Also, since around 2019, Symantec's business operations were bought out by Broadcom, and this has had no new development since then. What is still named "Symantec VIP" is useless and old technology.DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on this product. It's features (FIDO + HOTP) is too limited to waste money on.

Help is nonexistent
Purchased this because I don't have a smartphone or a phone with data. Item comes with no directions, just a QR code to scan...which I can't do because I don't have a smartphone. Endless searching online for support has been fruitless at best. Very frustrating.

Symantec VIP Access has been discontinued!
Symantec VIP Access has been discontinued! The key is worthless without it. You can still use FIDO, but there are other keys that use FIDO, FIDO, NFC and more. Don't waste your money on this one.

It doesn't work; additionally. is obsolete.

Awesome for use with E*trade and other banking services!
E*trade uses Symantec as their 2fa solution. They want their users to buy a token from them that runs on a battery and after a year or 2 would run out (also more expensive). Instead I purchased this Symantec token and enrolled it for my 2fa. No need to worry about a battery anymore!

Works great with E-Trade, possibly Fidelity? No Stupid VIP apps needed
To add this to E-Trade:Find your 2FA settings in your profile/security settings.Click Add a hardware tokenType in the Serial Number on the back of the key. Then plug the key in to a USB port.Click on the text box under Personal Access Code. Now touch your finger to the gold circle on the key. A 6 digit code should appear where your cursor is.Give the key a nickname and that's it. Then do it all again with a second key (you need a backup key in case your lose one). When you need to log in, Enter username, password, check box for Use Security Code. Then click on the Security Code box, plug the key in and touch the circle to input a new 6 digit code. Login should work with either key. That's it, no special token that runs out of batteries, and no more Symantec VIP OTP app. Don't need the VIP program on your PC either. The only downside is this key doesn't have NFC like the yubico keys, so you can't tap it against your android phone to login to the ETrade mobile app. What you can do instead is plug it in to a USB port (any USB port in any PC), open a browser or notepad as if you would type something, then touch the circle to reveal the 6 digit code in the text field. Type that 6 digit code into your phone app's login screen (just like you would with the Symantec VIP OTP app). A bit cumbersome. Possibly you could use a USB-A to USB-C adapter and plug the key into your phone, I haven't tried it.I noticed you cannot add a Yubico key to E-Trade using this method, so this Symantec key is useful. Yubico seems to output its codes when you touch the gold circle, but only in that special Windows Security pop-up when logging into specific sites. It won't put out a code into just any text field like this Symantec key does.Fidelity?Unfortunately Fidelity forces you to call them and manually set up 2FA, in their choice of the VIP TOTP app. In theory when they ask for the Credential ID, you could give them the key's serial number. I haven't tried tho. The last rep I talked to didn't seem to know so much about all this fancy kryptography so I wouldn't ask.
