Daewoo FRS-Y22D2B Side Refrigerator, Black

The ice maker stopped working at 9 months. It will work one cycle if you unplug the fridge and use the test button, then it just stops making ice again. It is a shame because the unit is not too bad otherwise. However, we use ice often, so it's just a non-starter. The company needs to redesign the ice maker because it is very noisy and now broken.

Love this fridge!

We really like it. Great look, holds what we need it to, love the counter depth size. The only thing that is odd is that the ice maker is really loud and makes a weird noise when dropping ice. It’s something we can totally live with for the price we paid, though! Overall it’s a 4-star in our book!

It's a good refrigerator, however, the icemaker quit within 6 months. Didn't want to have anyone here during covid. I suppose we're stuck with it now. It was a great fit, large area for food.

Extremely loud icemaker. Ice ends up in huge clumps that it can't break up. Have to dump constantly. Freezer too small also. Icemaker broke within a couple months and to make matters worse the company totally gives you the run around trying to get service. Ignoring my repeated attempts to get ANY answers. They do NOT stand behind their products. This was a huge waste of money and I would tell everyone DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE OR ANY FRIDGE FROM DAEWOO!!! Worst buy EVER!!! NOT worth $1

UPDATE: Ice maker broke after about 2 months :( Tried troubleshooting steps but nothing helps. Guess it was too good to be true. Pretty happy with this refrigerator. I searched high and low for one that would fit without sticking out too much, and this one is perfect for my space! One of the most amazing things to me was that I was able to get it only a few days after ordering it AND delivery and haul away of my old fridge was included! (NOTE: the delivery men set up the fridge but did not run the water line for the water dispenser. If you need this done you’ll have to make separate arrangements.) It is a very pretty refrigerator. The front and handles are stainless steel, sides are dark grey regular refrigerator siding, not stainless, but I like that. The doors look like they would hit the counter when opened, but the way it is hinged they don’t at all! Inside has plenty of room although I do wish it had a deli drawer. The only real downfall for me is the water/ice dispenser. The water streams very slowly. Takes forever to fill my water bottle. Also, the crushed ice option doesn’t really crush. Ice still comes out in pretty big chunks. Other than the dispenser issue, I really like it and am excited I found this size refrigerator with these specifications!

The ice maker went out a couple of months after buying. Daewoo sent a technician to fix it and it went out again after a month. Have an open case to get it fixed for over 3 months now. Very difficult to get a hold of someone from customer service. The size of the refrigerator was exactly what we wanted but definitely not worth the cost if the product can’t even make it through a year.

Although this unit is very attractive and has plenty of room inside that's about all that can be said. The icemaker was so loud that it would wake me up at night. Not just when it dumped the ice but the entire mechanism was loud. Then the icemaker broke entirely! Apparently there are no technicians in this area to fix it. Since it arrived damaged (cosmetically) my money was refunded. I guess that means they don't have to stand behind their product! So now I'm just S.O.L! Won't be replacing it with another Daewoo product.
