Acer Swift 3 SF314-41, Ryzen 5 3500U, 8GB, 256GB SSD, 14in Laptop (Renewed)

Fantastic little laptop, bought it renewed from Amazon with warranty. Not a single blemish on the item after receiving it and doing a close inspection. Already upgraded the RAM on it to 12GB. So happy with this purchase!! My father absolutely loves it.

It wan't me who bought this laptop - I was the 'consultant' to a friend who actually bought it :-) Hence not being a 'verified purchaser'.My friend wanted a laptop for herself, as opposed to the family pc as she is starting a business. We spent a morning in one of the sheds so she could get a feel for what was available in her price bracket. Size, shape, keyboard, screen etc..I'm an avid disliker of glossy screens, so I bought a second hand Dell Latitude from Ebay (matte). As We spend a lot of time looking at screens, IPS is a requirement as well.After playing with a few laptops, my friend also took a dislike to the glossy screens, so in her sub 500gbp price braket, 14 inch matte IPS screen, backlit keyboard, with decent processor was looking like a 2nd hand from Ebay as well.Then literaly as we were leaving we both did a second take at 2 laptops right on the corner we hadn't noticed. The Swift 1 and 3.The Ryzen 3 version of the Swift 3 was matte scree, IPS, 14 inch, backlit keyboard etc and just in her price bracket. We then checked ebay and Amazon out as you do - and there was this Ryzen 5 Swift 3, 'renewed' for th same price as a 'new' Ryzen 3.The Universe providing. She loves it - when she can wrestle it away from her daughter! Despite what the critics say aboout the screen, it's great. No looking at yourself in it as in a gloss screen - as good as my Dell in real life. It must be half the weight of my Dell, speaker volume good. Yes, there are compromises like soldered RAM and no space for 2nd SSD, Win 10 home etc- she'll never need that nor notice.Even at full price which is 150 odd quid more it's still a good buy.
