Took a lot of patience to get this to work. Don't bother trying to use pre-built images from websites like Arcade Punks as they won't have the drivers installed to get the hat to work. You're best to start off using the base images (that include the drivers) from Waveshare. Stick with Retropie. Don't bother using the Recalbox image. Make sure you expand your SD card after installing the base image from Waveshare to be able to use all available space on it. Add your ROM's and within Retropie update and download all of the available emulators before you can use this. It's handy to have a keyboard/mouse to do this and a direct Cat5 connection to your internet to speed things up. If you're fortunate (like me) to have a second RPi running Raspbian then that too will help when moving ROM's to this SD card from another. Works really well, but some games you might need to tinker setting up and making them work in correct emulators as you go along.

Good build quality, easy to assemble. Screen is very clear, bright and good viewing angle. Back buttons are a bit too colicky for my liking. This is a big unit, make sure you read the dimensions before buying as a lot bigger than other Pi gaming units with similar size screens. Overall considering the price I was happy with it.

I ordered this awesome case/board for my pi 3 b+ but was sent the wrong power adapter. I did not expect much but their customer service was the best I ever encountered. They immediately, on their own initiative, sent me a new one. The case itself is very cool. The screen is probably the biggest in the gaming case, the power is well sorted as in no false readings, and it is very sturdy and well built. I highly recommend this case/screen to everyone. Can also make nice little portable computer. I commend the customer service and the integrity of this company. Many thanks to the people at Ibest. First thing this will not work with raspberry pi 4 without a lot of modification which I don't recommend. Also if you have any form of cooling on your pi you may struggle to get it to fit with this if your cooler is higher than the USB ports. The idea is great the screen quality could be better given the price also the speaker is pretty poor. The software requires knowledge of Linux for it to work properlyIts OK but doesn't blow me away some stuff is well thought out like the micro sd extender.Don't forget to buy your batteries which are not standard.

Enjoyed it for a while but decided I preferred a landscape style device. Would recommend if you have the pie 3B+. Can be quite heavy for longer gaming sessions

Prodotto di discreta qualità, ma gli incastri della copertura non sono perfetti, infatti quando sono andato a sostituire le pile con un modello più potente, la parte di plastica in cui ci sono l’accensione e il jack cuffie, si è spezzata, lasciando rovinato quel lato. Altra pecca sono i controlli, che risultano un po’ troppo grandi e distanziati, non proprio ottima i se si ha una mano piccola. Per il resto il prodotto è valido e ben fatto e di facile montaggio.

Se pensate di inserire la vostra sd e giocare vi sbagliate .bisogna installare i driver e se non avete una certa conoscenza non sarà facile . Se installate il recalbox dal loro sito non potrete accedere al WiFi... Quindi niente netplay, kodi,ecc...Audio scarso e croce direzionale dura.Mi ha deluso .
