rockspace WiFi Extender (1200RPT)-1186Mbps Dual Band Wireless Repeater with WPS One Button Setup

The router is on the main floor of the house. The Wi-Fi signal in the basement is prone to dropouts. Even when it works, I never get the maximum signal. This solved my problem completely. If you set it up via WPS, it's quick and easy. I prefer a more advanced setup, so I don't use WPS, but the instructions aren't great. In fact, I wasn't even sure I could set up both a 2.4 GHz network and a 5 GHz network. I had to post a question here to find out that it could be done. I found more detailed instructions online, so I was able to configure it with a different password than the main network, but the included instructions should have been better. The bottom line is: it's a great extender with insufficient instructions.

This extender works well in my three level masonry home, allowing for AT&T TV service via WiFi in the lower (finished basement) level. My issue was the installation. Strictly following the instructions did not work. I was forced to explore the deeper menus in my phone, levels I never knew existed. I kept disabling some things, enabling others until I finally stumbled onto something that worked, and the extender found the signal. It was so involved I could not tell you from memory, but the device works now, and that's all that matters. I could have called for support but didn't. I recommend you call before going through what I experienced.

I bought this primarily for the ethernet jack it contains... needed to mount a DVR camera system where we don't have a jack. So I picked this wifi extender up. The wifi extension was secondary, and the wired port works great.As for the wifi extender... for some reason the 5G network doesn't work well. Not sure if that's my setup's fault, or this device. If I can't reach my primary Wifi I just use the 2.4G extended network and that works fine. Would be nice if the 5G extended worked properly though.Setup was a breeze: push the WPS button on my router, than the one on this. Boom.

This unit would not connect to my router unless it was within 20ft. This defeats the purpose of having a Wi-Fi extender. initially I was able to set it up all my devices but after a short time they all lost their connection. Constant red LED indicating it wasn't close enough to the router. Old single bandrepeater right next to it worked find. Returning the extender.Update: I upgrading my rating because of the excellent customer service. They reached out to me after my review and offered to send out a replacement but I had already ordered a different model. I’m having some issues with the new model so it may not be a problem with the extender but my new Firestick.

I kept getting disconnected from my computer so a friend of mind suggested I try a Wi-f- booster. I was unable to set it up because the instructions were hard for any one whose not computer savy. My stepson is very knowlegable about computers and he had a bit of difficulty hooking it up. But, once we hooked it up the difference was noticeable.

I had 2 of these installed which did a very good job. I decided to add 2 more to make WiFi available in the front of the house. At this point I have one installed for the front of the house and may just keep the other for future usage. I'm using only at 2.4 and have disabled 5. I'm very happy with what these extenders do. They were easy to connect if the directions are followed. As the old saying goes, if all else fails, follow the directions.

I needed extra signal to reach parts of my house and a signal extender seemed to be the answer. This product was easy to install and presented two new connection points which had slightly different names. I am not sure why that happened, but both seem to work the same. However, while the signal strength to the nether regions of the property is improved, the throughput of the signal is somewhat degraded. As this is the only unit of this type I am not sure this is indicative of the product itself or the nature of these extenders in general. But it works well enough. I was hoping it would be more seamless, that is all.

While watching netflix I had a buffering problem running at 15mbps, more like 5 mbps. I had no wps on my router, so had to install the hard way. Instructions not to clear. Overall it worked and stopped the buffering not only on the TV but Also on my wifi radio. Which by the way my home is quite long at 2240sqft. I put the extender halfway between each end of the house
