Nitro Aikido Full Face Helmet

I am impressed by this helmet by comparison to my top-of-the-line HJC modular (as sold by Harley-Davidson). First of all everything about this helmet seems more solid -- even the shell (which is Fiber-Glass). I have a big head and concerned about that so I ordered 2XX and once I got my head past the wind dam along the bottom edge of the helmet it was like getting born (in reverse).It felt nice and snug (I have a size 7-3/4 low oblong head. I like the nose cup that directs my exhalation downward to keep the visor from fogging -- my HJC always had a problem with that and I always left the visor opened just a crack. I can do this on this helmet to if I want as the visor has positioning do move it up a cm or so at a time.I like the micrometer adjustment on the chin strap too -- much nicer than the Double DD that most helmets have. Also extra padding between the straps and your neck that double as pull straps you can tug on to get the helmet on.Helmet aced the UK SHARP standard which includes g-Force testing from various angles simulating a high-speed crash. This helmet not only got a 5-Star rating but all head impact points tested in the "green" meaning the amount of g-Force transmitted to the brain would be very low. Most helmets only tested to a 35 mph direct impact so the SHARP standard is way overdue and gives you a much better picture of how your brain would fair in a crash.Sleek and aerodynamic feel to it -- about to try it out on the road today so will report back on road noise and fogging/ventilation too. Seems like a good purchase for a low low price!!

This is my first helmet. I went into stores looking for a very safe helmet and to determine fit. Once I learned of this through internet research and that it was the cheapest helmet to earn a 5-star rating from SHARP (look it up online if you don't know - great information on impact protection), I bought it.Fit: Excellent. Bought a large and it was perfect for my head. I'm 5'4, medium build, 165 pounds.Road/Wind Noise: Good. The helmet is fairly quiet inside, except for a whistle that has developed over time. I think the vents may have broken into a given position which leads me to the next point...Ventilation: I can't really tell. It haven't been able to notice much of a difference between the open and closed position. I would prefer a little more air when I'm hot, and would love to eliminate the wind whistling sound completely when it's cool outside.Comfort: I have almost 2,000 miles under my belt on it now and I can't complain about comfort. Note that if you like to use earbuds while you ride, this helmet isn't for you. It's snug around the ears (as it should be), and trying to get a bud in your ear before putting it on will only result in the earbud shifting. However if you want a nice helmet with a removable, washable liner and nose guard, it's a great choice.Safety: This is what my choice boiled down to. If all factors were equal, this would be a 4 star review. However given the helmets excellent performance in the SHARP tests, I can't mark this helmet anything less than a 5. If I'm in a high speed accident, I trust it gives me the best chance of returning to my family.

I ordered a medium, size is true, and fit is excellent. I am very impressed with the build quality of this helmet. Overall, for the price this is an excellent helmet. It has a micrometric adjustment instead of annoying d rings,said straps also come with nice comfort pads to keep them tight against your face without chafing and the buckle allows a good range of adjustability for keeping the helmet on your head without being uncomfortable, it is quiet when riding, and does not wobble or become displaced while riding at speed or in windy conditions. The visor seals tightly and is easy to operate, attach and detach. The paint is high quality and seems to be holding up well. The vents on this helmet work well and close tightly so as not to leak cold air in the winter and allow plenty of smooth air flow during the summer. The helmet is also quite lightweight and so does not fatigue your neck or put strain on your back when you are riding.On top of all this, it is in the lower end of the price range for a helmet and is among the top performers on SHARP helmet saftey testing. it scores 5 stars on all counts.I give it five stars too, since it really is damn good. I am SUPER SATISFIED with this helmet.

Amazing helmet for the price; DOT approved (required, although DOT regs are worthless). Passes ECE and has 5-Star SHARP rating. Look it up. NOTE: Airflow, there is airflow but not really controllable. Visors only available online. For a round head profile. Cheek pads will need to be worn in.. Best bang for your buck. (Just beware of manufacturer date on unit received)

I really like this helmet. I do! It's also the first ever helmet I'm buying.I bought it because of its 5-star safety rating on the SHARP (UK) website as well as it's AMAZINGLY low price! I bought the size S (small) per the sizing chart, and I fully expected it to fit my oval /intermediate oval(?) head. However, it was too small. I could put it on quite alright, but my chin was jutting out under the chin guard.I spent all of 5 minutes trying to convince myself that I could "manage" it.But the voice of my late mother kept ringing in my ears, "Penny wise, Pound foolish!" So it's got to go back!Unfortunately, the U.S.A is quite far from where I live so I'll have to find a buyer for it locally. Sigh.Anyway, I'm placing an order for the size M (Medium) right away!

This helmet is fantastic for the price. I've read online ratings that puts it above lower quality Shoe helmets ($300) and I believe it. It's quite, light, comfortable, and solidly built. I wear it every day for my commute to work, and I've only had one minor problem; the mesh cover of one vent inlet was knocked out of position, and I have been unable to put it back where it belongs.Fit runs true to the measurements on their website, but for a more narrow face than mine. I have a very round face, and I find after a couple hours it tends to crush my cheeks in a little bit.
