Haven’t used this exact one yet
This is my second switchblade. I’m still using my 1st one. Fantastic bit. Watch for nails because it will grab them.

Best 3” auger bit ever used
The best large hole wood auger bit I have ever owned. Chewed through heavy treated lumber like butter. Recommend use only with HD low rpm high torque 1/2” or 5/8” drill motor with Aux handleto better control the feed rate of this aggressive auger bit. This bit will quickly overheat and overload all but the heaviest duty cordless drills. In summary: if you need to bore accurate round 3” holes rapidly with absolutely clean surface this Milwaukee auger bit will exceed your expectations.Note: hang on tight because it feeds into material quickly, and make sure you tighten the pilot center set screw very tightly with supplied wrench so it does not detach in your bored hole when backing bit out of a blind hole.

Perfect for Soft-Close Cabinet Hinges
I bought this bit only to install soft-close hinges on some cabinets I was making. The hole diameter is perfect, and leaves a smooth, flat bottom cut.

Quality
I made this bird house/motel out of a 4 x 6 timber, that is approximately 6 feet tall. I drilled large holes to the actual douglas fir timber with this Milwaukee bit w/out any problems. I used the regular corded Hilti drill. I opted not to use the Milwaukee impact drill or the cordless hammer drill b/c it does use a lot of battery power. It makes a nice clean hole, and the center spike keeps it perfectly aligned. Watch out b/c if you're not careful it can really damage your wrist, b/c once it starts it keeps going. For those curious, I then put some redwood boards on the timber and made smaller holes. It looks as if a woodpecker made the holes. The project looks nice as far as decor goes, but so far no birds have nested in it.

Best bits I've used
The Milwaukee selfeed bits are the best wood boring bits I've used. It feels like they just pull their way through the material. I considered buying a kit, but for 90% of my work, 1" is all I need and I could always bore two holes, side by side for larger feeds. Not quite 5 stars though as the Milwaukee bogs down when the center bit penetrates all the way through. This is pretty common and the Milwaukee is better than others I have tried.

Great bit for running 1 1/2 ABS drains and vents
I'm a remodeling contractor. This is the best bit I've found for boring through studs or joists when doing plumbing rough-in work. The bit basically pulls itself through the wood and chews up everything on the way through.I use my DeWalt DW120K right angle drill but you could use a hole hawg etc. Use a heavy duty 1/2" drill, preferably one that you can hold with 2 hands because if this gets stuck on a nail etc. while drilling the torque of the drill can really painfully wrench your arm.One great thing is that can send the bits out for resharpening although will they last a long time before you have to. Get a 2 9/16ths bit for running your 2" pipe and a 12" hex bit extender because the shank is only about 3" long.

Trash
The blade fills with splinters and burns more than cuts. It isn't worth a dime. The Diablo model is infinitely better.

Really good drill bit. I would recommend it.

Almost perfect!
The product is good, have used it all my years in business. The only thing is that the picture of this self feed bit shows a shank that can fit a snap extension which I use very often. I received the oldfashioned hexagon shaft which does not fit those extensions. I presume a different shaft in this self feed bit would solve that problem. Care to send me one?

A Trifle Aggressive in Some Situations.
Worked very well going through over 10 inches of old seasoned log wall with extension. Can feel too aggressive in such a cut. Be prepared to have extension handles on your drill or very strong wrists. Back it out often to avoid chip compaction behind the cut. Just powers through regular softwood studs though, which is probably the more typical application. Sized perfectly for System 636 2" condensing furnace ducting. But stick to a hole saw if depth of cut allows.... more control.

The picture is not exactly the same as what I ...
The picture is not exactly the same as what I got. Your picture shows 2 blades where as the one I received only had one blade. For a few more dollars I could have had an Erwin bit that had 3 blades, so I did not appreciate that.
