Beyond impressed
I am so impressed with this wax. When I received it, I was a little apprehensive, simply by the fact that it came as complete powder. All waxes I have ever used and worked with have been in shavings or blocks, so this was obviously different than what I expected (should have paid attention to their pix). I went right to work and wanted to try this stuff out, as I was expecting it to end up being just another trial and error that I could check off my list of things I have tried. So, I poured the wax into my wax melter, and just waited to see what would happen. Just like any wax, it did what it was supposed to do. Then when I added my fragrance and dye, it looked awesome. Kind of like a marbled look, and this was just in the melting pot. After I prepped my jars, I started to pour the wax in, and within minutes, it started to crystalize. It looked really cool and didn't know if this would work for the candle I was making, but I didn't want to stop. So, I kept pouring in my layers, and it just kept looking better and better. When my candle cooled enough, I was so impressed. It has a crystalization look and just gives the candle some added character. It also has a great scent throw, when the wax was still hot, and when it cooled down. I can't wait to make more candles with this.

Beautiful Results
I absolutely love this wax. It took some testing to get the desired look. I found that pouring the wax at 220 degrees gave me the best results. This is a best seller in my candle business. @iluminabymina

Edit Review
In my humble opinion, this is not a good wax for pillar candles. It is ridiculously hard to remove from molds without damaging the candle. I think the wax might be great for glass containers though.Review Edit:After some trial and error and a few damaged candles, I must edit my review and my star rating. I'm new at candle making and this is the very first time I've ever used Ice Wax so I kinda expected to lose a few candles here and there. But that is all in the past now. Here's what I do:During the melting process, I add the liquid dye and scent when the wax is between 180° and 190°.I place my candle molds in the oven for about 15 to 20 minutes.Once the wax is at 205° and I begin the pouring process, I remove the molds from the oven one by one, reheating the wax after each pour, just to make sure that each candle is poured at 200°. Have some wax on hand, in case a second pour is required. When my candles are done, I put them in the freezer for 10 minutes and then give them a couple of taps on my table and they slide right out of the mold and they look fantastic (added new photos)This wax is now one of my favorites to work with.I hope this helps other candle makers.

Unique feathering wax that looks beautiful but you will be fighting against air pockets!
So let's talk about some palm wax...This kit comes as advertised so no complaints there. The wax is FEATHERING not crystalizing. It will still get a unique pattern when it cools and makes for a fun looking candle but is no where near as impressive as some of the crystalizing palm waxes available (Nature's Garden palm container wax is a dream compared to this stuff both in appearance and ease to work with).Let me say this is not a super friendly beginner wax like soy. It's not melt and pour. You'll end up with massive internal air bubbles if you do that. Compared to other waxes, including other palm I've used, this wax has a massive amount of shrink as it cools (which results in the air pockets). All that said, with some research, effort and trial and error it will make beautiful candles.Tricks to using this stuff in containers:- Heat your container in a low oven (set to warm or 200*) before you pour wax in to it.- Don't just get the wax to its melt point to pour. Get it hot! Like 200-210 degrees hot. A double boiler and candy thermometer would be good to pick up with this kit. Getting the wax hot helps get air out of it and really the main reason you want to is pouring at higher temperatures will give you a better crystal structure (unless you want your candles to be heavily equiax and look kind of like packed sand).- Pour your candle, SAVE SOME WAX FOR A SECOND POUR AT THE END THAT WILL BE ENOUGH TO COVER THE TOP SURFACE and put the candle back in that warm oven. Turn the oven off before you pour and just let it stay warm and cool down with your candle in it. You want your candles to cool as slow as possible, again to make those crystals look pretty. I've also found things like beer coozies work quite well to help keep the container from cooling too quickly. Get creative.- Tend as much as you physically can. As the surface of the candle hardens break it up with something (I use a chopstick). You'll notice there's an air pocket under that surface and breaking it up as it cools let's the air out. I usually repeat this every half hour or so until it's nearly fully hardened. You'll end up with a crater in the middle of your candle after all this tending from the shrink of the wax as it cools.- Remember that bit of wax you saved? Remelt it and again get it up to 200* or so. Pour the wax to refill the void left from air and tending just up to the original fill level. You can go above that level if you'd like but it will be very noticeable in the final product as the crystal structure will differ.- If you happen to have a top surface that isn't the most uniform , hit it with a heat gun to hide whatever sins are there and level things out.- I use essential oils to scent my candles. 5wt% fragrance oil is a good target but be warned that with all palm waxes many scents just don't seem to work. As the candle hardens scents will change and sometimes manage to disappear all together as far as you can smell.Sorry this is so long, these are things I wish I knew when I started playing with this wax so I thought I'd share the learning.

Love this!
My venture into candle making started with this candle boat and seeing $24 for refills. I was too cheep to buy the refills so I scoped out Amazon for better refill deals and thought, “I can make my own!” This product is awesome and oh-so-cool! Super easy to use! I’m so happy! I can make over 10 more for the cost of one refill! Love this wax! ♥️
