Loyal fan. Have used for 20 years.
This is my 3rd Emjoi epilator. They seem to last a solid 10 years and then give out. I love that this is corded. I avoid batteries for things like this - so much unnecessary toxic waste. It's not like I'm going to epilate out in the back yard. If you have never used an epilator before, it takes a few uses to get used to the pain, but then it becomes less painful than waxing, and much less messy and time consuming. This pulls hair out from the root, so I suggest starting out with just your legs, and then once you feel comfortable with that level of sting, slowly graduate to bikini area, then armpits (the most painful area, but again, over time, the sting diminishes). It is important to use the little brush included to clear the tweezer heads after each use, takes 20 seconds, to give this thing the longest life possible.

Happily hairless :)
This is the first epilator I've used and I love it. I hate shaving, so for years I've waxed but I hate how you have to wait for the hair to get long enough to wax again. This epilator grabs even the little tiny short hairs. It's not pain free, but of course how can it be when the hairs are being pulled out by the root. But being that I already was used to waxing it doesn't bother me. The emjoi is easy to clean with it's little brush that's included. I haven't used the buffer or the guard yet. The shape of it makes it easy to hold. I use it everywhere, arms, underarms, bikini, legs. It works great on fine or thick hair. Definitely worth the money and has paid for itself with just a few uses. I no longer need to buy razors or wax.

I really like my epilator
Overall, I really like my epilator. I'm new to epilating so I haven't quite got the hang of it some days, but the epilator itself seems to work as it's supposed to.It's been some time since my initial purchase and I'm actually on my second epilator as my first one stopped working one day about a month after I received it, just like that. I'd used it about four times without a problem, then the next time I tried to use it it just didn't turn on. Tried different outlets round the house, but nothing. Read the warranty, contacted the vendor, and got a replacement unit within about a week. EXTREMELY PLEASED with that! It's been about three weeks since then, so curious to see how the epilator will hold up, but overall, so far, I am pleased with my purchase.I will only add that while it's true that it doesn't hurt to epilate, it STINGS sooo bad on my legs. My underarms are fine, but I have a really hard time epilating my legs - in fact, I haven't been able to epilate them completely yet. I'm going to need to get a cream or something until I get more used to it, but I have a really, really hard time with my legs. It does take some backbone to epilate, I'll say that much.

AMAZING
BEST EPILATOR EVER!I use to use the Emjoi Emagine Electric Epilator which is big and super loud so I had to get a new one.SO glad I found this Emjoi Soft Caress Epilator. It's pretty quiet and gets the job done pretty fast. I like how it is very easy to clean out the hairs in between the blades with the little brush they provide you. This set also comes with: epilator, charging cord (only downside of this but I don't mind it. Not like I shave outside of the bathroom anyway), flat loofa, and brush all in a travel bag for you. For anyone that's been considering switching over to using an epilator to shave, I would highly recommend using this one. It's not scary, there are two speeds you can use, it doesn't feel like its going to rip/ pick at your skin.

Breaking hair, doesn’t pull it out. Terrible.
I have had the tried and true Braun. I read so many amazing reviews and liked the aspect of being able to be corded, so I thought I’d give it a try. I don’t know if I just got a defective one, but I am going to return it. My hair is atleast 1/8 in long because I have been letting it grow for 2 weeks. It completely missed my hair and I had to go over it a few times to grab it. After doing half a leg, it feels spiky now, so it’s not pulling the root but is breaking them at the skin. I am so disappointed in this. Oh, and it is so so loud and not very gentle like my Braun has been. Stick to Braun.

First epilator I purchased lasted 6 months, the replacement lasted 2.5 months
Update: the first Emjoi epilator I bought here lasted for 6 months and then started jamming (even with all of the hair cleaned out). The company replaced that one and the replacement only lasted 2.5 months. I used both epilators the same as the one I had for almost 10 years, so my conclusion is, Emjoi no longer makes their products like they used to, which is disappointing.Old review:I had a cordless Emjoi epilator for nearly 10 years, so when I had to replace it, I bought this one. I had some troubles with my unit, but because I know the general quality of the product, after using Emjoi for years, I contacted the company and they are sending me a new one—very grateful for that!Using this epilator in general: I have a lot of body hair. I use this on my legs, arms and chin. The first time using it (and when I made the mistake of letting all my hair grow in over the winter), it's pretty uncomfortable and it takes me hours for removal, but if I keep up with epilating everything couple of weeks, it's not very painful (just a little annoying) and it's a much quicker process, because there's less hair to remove and it seems thinner. No more razor burn from shaving, and I have to attend to my body hair much less often, which I greatly appreciate.

So much better than waxing. This is a bit noisy but works well. Wish I bought it earlier.
