Hustler SSM1 Ss Professional Ball Mount And Spring

I have tried several cheaper ball/spring mounts over the years with a 102' whip. I must say this is by far the the best one I have used. The pos. Feed is much better isolated than with other mounts I have used. I had to make no modifications to this guy. Nice cork gasket instead of a thin rubber gasket that rots within a year. Backing plate is nice and thick, I did strip out one of the threaded hole during install but chalk that up to me simply over tightening it. But Added lock washers and nuts to all 3 bolts for back up. The Spring is one of the heaviest one I have seen, previous review state it is small and weak, not the case unless your trying to run a A99 or something. Has a nut on the top making tightening and loosening your antenna much easier. If your looking for a good quality ball mount for your 102" , look no farther!

Ordered, returned. Refund issued promptly. I read the reviews, ignored them, built a roll cage with a 27 degree angle for the whip cb mount and planned to use this. WRONG. Now, paying the price for custom bracket to hold a Wilson mount. Very weak mount easily strips out. May be ok if you never use it and leave it in the box. With all the bad reviews, I do hope they stop offering it. Sad to see this flimsy thing being sold.

I received a different product than the one I ordered. I got the very cheap-feeling alternative, which has the raised band around the seam of the ball--like the one you see listed for sale as an alternative. That's not what I wanted. It's stainless, but to call it "professional" is beyond silly. Because I live in Alaska and hate going to ship stuff out at the post office, I just threw the ball in the trash. It's just that bad. People actually rate the product I received well, which is beyond me as to how--I wouldn't bolt it to any vehicle I own, and I own old worn out "classics." The spring? Sure...it works. My next CB ball will be of the brass variety, made by someone who takes pride in their work.
