Good value for a low end e- bike.
Easy to assemble. A bit underpowered-will stall when climbing a steep hill in unassisted (zero setting) mode in gear 1 (highest). The rear derailleur protector was bent during shipping not allowing me to shift above gear 4. An easy fix. Display Instructions are in a separate book and have several setting options including English/metric option. The assist mode is smooth and seamless for all settings (1-5). Not as fast as some more expensive e-bikes but quiet enough. Buy a rear reflector or light for safety. None included. Mech disc brakes are a bit soft at first but firm up after a few usage cycles. A bit heavy to be a nimble trail bike but solid. The electric assist is nice on the steeper trail sections. Overall a good value for an entry level e-bike but this is my first experience with e-bikes.

Superb MTB and nice push up steep slopes with the hill assist
The bike was packaged very well when it arrived. Took me a bit of time, maybe an hour to assemble everything. I got the black Wrangler-600; it’s a handsome MTB that many of my friends ask about it. I’ve been biking on it at our neighborhood trails with gravel, pavement, and even hard rocks. Mileage for the battery is great and the hill assist is superb (could use some more power but does not hinder).

Great Value and Performance
I'm an old geezer (77) and was finding my road bike trips were getting harder and less enjoyable. Figured it was time to consider an e-bike like I see so many with here in sunny southern Utah. But I really didn't want to spend what most e-bikes are going for. After a lot of research and consideration, I thought I'd take the leap and get the Macwheel 500W Mountain Bike. The bike arrived a day earlier than estimated. I found it quite easy to set up, although I'm fairly mechanically inclined. I also discovered that one needs to read the directions carefully, not plowing ahead like you know it all. First trial, it worked great. Then I wanted to adjust the gears since I was only getting 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear. I review a couple of Youtube videos and it sounded easy so I plunged ahead. After probably an hour trying various things and not get any serious joy, I took it to our local bike exchange shop and they fixed it quickly for $15. It turns out the gear protector had bent during shipment and it needed to pull away from the gear before adjusting. When I got home I looked more closely at a little tag that had been attached to the rear gears and it clearly said to make sure the protector was not interfering with the gears! Duh... another lesson in reading the details.Speaking of details, if you want to fully enjoy this bike, you need to read the LCD Panel manual carefully and more than once to understand how it works and how to change settings. For example, I've read a few reviews here that wonder why the display can't be in MPH instead of Kmh. As we say in the tech support business, RTFM (or read the **** manual). Some things in the manual didn't match what was actually appearing on the screen, but eventually I got all the things worked out that mattered (would be nice if manual matched, however). I found that for me, most of the default settings were perfectly appropriate.Today my wife and I took a spin and after about 7 miles I found I had a flat tire... completely flat! Had to push it a mile back to civilization, heavy battery and all. Did I mention I'm getting too old for this sort of thing? When I repaired the tire, I found a serious hole in the tube along where the inside rim and its protector run. Can't imagine how unless it was damaged during install or it was a defective tube. At any rate, got it fixed, organized a tire repair kit to take with me, and took it out for another jaunt. All I can say is that this seems to be the perfect bike for me. I can pedal and get exercise, but can get assistance when the going gets tough, or even just cruise if I'm totally exhausted. A fun bike to ride!Since I've only had the bike for three days, these five stars are provisional. But even with the glitch-lets I had, I still think it's a fabulous deal for price, features, and the enjoyment in biking that has returned to me.UPDATE:The 5-star rating still holds! I contacted Macwheel about the tube and they had me buy a new one and they refunded me the cost. Their responses to me have been quick and helpful. I see they've raised the price by $40, but I'd still buy it at that price. I love riding again!

Missing part
Don't know how the bike works. Missing a very important part the quick release that connects the front wheel to the bike . Very disappointed. Sent a request for contact in Friday haven't heard from them.(UPDATE)It wasn't easy contacting the seller directly, I blame that on Amazon. I had to file an AZ Claim to get Macwheel to contact me. Once the claim was filed, they emailed me and I received the missing quick release axle promptly. They were very understanding and felt horrible the piece was missing. They resolved my issue and the bike is AWESOME!!

Excellent value at $850, 500W powerful motor, 48V long lasting battery, over 10 x 20-30 mile rides.
I bought this Ebike for fun and is an excellent value. About 10 back street blocks from my home there is a long park trail with small hills that I used to enjoy riding but I was getting too tired and with back problems I stop going. The 500W motor does the heavy work and I just pedal as much or little as I want to. The tires at 2.2 inches wide do not get stuck in the grass or dirt when you get of road. For a more comfortable bike ride I also bought 1. FOMTOR 31.8 Adjustable Stem 0~90 Degree 80mm MTB Adjustable Bike Stem for 31.8mm(1.25") Handlebar, now my upper body can stay vertical and reduce strain on my back. 2. Suspension seat post and Sunlite Cloud-9 Bicycle Suspension Cruiser Saddle, to absorb the inevitable potholes shocks. When i got the Ebike the front brake disk was bent I took the bike to a shop to fix and Macwheel / seller reimbursed me. Everything is working fine, so far I am happy.

Excellent Value and Very Fun to Ride
This is my first ebike. After reviewing numerous other e-bikes online, this was definitely the best value for under $900. I only replaced the seat to something more comfortable for me, a $25 purchase. I have been riding this bike for a couple of weeks and enjoy it a lot, since I can now travel much further than with a regular bike. The battery is very high quality and lasts longer than I anticipated in cold weather riding. The workmanship looks very good. The bike is a little on the heavy side at 65lbs, but it is built very sturdily. The only problem I had was removing the battery from the bike frame, because I did not realized that you had to turn the key and depress a black button on the other side at the same time. I do not remember seeing any of this described in the instructions. Overall a very good purchase and would recommend to anyone that does not want to spend a lot of money on their first e-bike.
