A NYC fairy tale
Sorry to be long-winded, but here is a little back story: I'm a graduate student living in a tiny studio in Manhattan. To my joy, my landlord said that I could have a cat this year (it's my second year living here). And so started the 3 month drama of finding the perfect kitten. You see, my boyfriend of almost three years is very allergic to cats. Teary, whites of his eyes turn crimson, gets completely stuffed up and can't breathe. He expressed distaste for cats when I ran the idea by him. However, I am an animal person and have always had cats in my house in Connecticut (in addition to horses, pigs, chickens, dogs, etc.). I desperately missed animal contact while studying and knew that while a dog would require too much time, a cat would be perfect (cuddly, therapeutic, and amusing, all of those adjectives that cat-lovers are familiar with). I was scared that getting a cat would be the end of my relationship, but I REALLY wanted to try it. And my patient, compassionate boyfriend said that he'd take anti-histamines, we'd clean copiously, and he'd do his best to work around me having a cat. So I adopted !! and boyfriend did his best with tons of drugs, tissues, ventilation, cleaning my wooden floors, using allergen wipes on kitty, etc. but he was still suffering pretty badly. He did not complain ONCE -- and has been really supportive -- but I felt just awful seeing him messed up like that.Flash forward to using this spray: it makes him much more comfortable to spend time with me in my apartment!!!!! I washed the sheets and pillowcase in hot water and then sprayed them, sprayed my blankets, and let it dry for about 3 hours as recommended. My bed is a murphy bed so I propped it up against the wall during this time. Vacuumed with a pet hair hand vacuum by Bissell and here are the results: it works marvelously!!! My boyfriend was able to spend the night and the day with me this weekend, without taking any pills at all (before he'd be popping pills - Claritin, Benadryl, the works; left and right). He said he was mildly stuffy but he wasn't congested. His voice and breathing were normal, no watery eyes!!!The best part of all is that now he's getting close to my kitten! He plays with her with some of her toys and she likes to cuddle up on his tummy. He is even able to put his head against her round little belly to hear her purring, and he says he knows her "secret spot" under her chin where she likes to be petted. He'll deny it if you ask him, but if you watch, she's getting him over to her side (as any adorable Siamese mix adopted from Animal Care & Control will do). On a scale from zero to five I rate this product 11 million stars!!!!!!!! I love it!! Buy in bulk!

This Really Works!
This stuff really works! I have really bad allergies to both dogs and cats, so I was never able to have a pet. Then, this stray cat decided to 'adopt' me. What could I do? Before going to the doctor to see about allergy shots, I read aboutADS Anti-Allergen Dust Spray and all the reviews were very good. So I decided to give it a try. And it works! It really works! I just spray it into the air in the morning and evening or in the room he is in and no running nose, no itchy eyes and no wheezing. If you have allergies to pets, try this first.

so good, I believe has helped with my allergies
I've just recently started becoming allergic to my cat, and had to take him to live elsewhere while I cleaned and sprayed, so good, I believe has helped with my allergies, my eyes don't burn and itch. Now I need to try another bottle and bring the cat back into my home to see if it really works with him here with me.

Great product, but read precautions to avoid issues.
We use this spray in our home because our daughter is allergic to our canine family members. Please note that the instructions clearly state what fabrics you should not use this on. There is another product by the same company that is designed to use on white fabrics. ALSO, we have NEVER EVER experienced any of the bleach smells other reviewers mention. The precautions stated on the bottle (copied below) make note to test in a small area before applying the product, emphasizing that it is important when prior cleaners or deodorizers have been applied. It seems obvious the strong smell experienced by some was probably a chemical reaction with other chemical residue (especially with carpet). It surprises me that the people that will take the time to give detailed negative reviews don't take the time to read the precautions and instructions PRIOR to using the product. Precautions from the container listed below. I would have like to have seen them prior to purchasing.PRECAUTIONS:Before application of this product, test in a small hidden area for each item to be treated and allow it to dry thoroughly. This is also important when prior cleaners and deodorizers have been applied. They may have left a chemical residue that will cause discoloration or staining. If staining occurs do not use.Do not spray on white or off-white colored carpets or fabrics. Do not spray on fabrics sensitive to water such as silk, Haitian cottons, and certain wools, including some oriental rugs. Do not spray on woodwork or walls. Do not spray on surfaces that are moist or damp. Do not add product to laundry. Store in a cool, dry place. Do not spray directly on animals or pets. As with all chemicals, keep out of reach of children.Surfaces treated with Allersearch ADS should not be wet cleaned or steam cleaned afterwards. We recommend vacuuming or other dry cleaning methods.

Saved us from replacing all the carpet in our new house!
The previous owners of our new house had a long-haired cat. They kept the house pretty clean, but I'm super allergic, so I was having a hard time being there without getting all red-eyed and congested. Hubby and I couldn't afford to replace the carpet, so we decided to give this stuff a try. It took 1.5 bottles to do all the carpet upstairs and in the basement (about 800 sq ft each level). The house was empty before move-in so it was pretty simple. We followed all the directions. Despite having vacuumed twice with a HEPA filter before putting this stuff down, we still filled the vacuum twice with cat dander and dust after the dry time. I imagine it helps the hair detach from the carpet when it breaks it down. When we came back the next day to do some painting, my allergies weren't bothering me anymore! A month later, we have finished painting and moving in and I haven't been bothered by cat allergies since! It even got rid of the cat smell in the cabinet where the litter box had been. :) I'm definitely recommending this product.

Really works
I had previously tried a cheaprr brand of this type of spray with no results. But I find that this one does help. I have very very severe dust mite allergy, which is why I can only give it 4 stars as I react to the tiniest amout of allergen. However, my reaction is much less than it was and my sleep is better with regular use over my bedding and in my bedroom, so for me its worth every penny and lives up to its claims unlike the cheaper alternatives. It also sprays a finer mist and gives wider coverage, so I find it value for money. Honestly the best in its range.

Dust mites
If you are allergic to dust mites this will not help much. It might neutralise their waste but it does not get rid of the dust mites. You'll be much better off getting a small vacuumer with UV.It might be efficient for neutralising other allergens, I don't know.

So far so good. Still have my fingers crossed though
So far so good. Still have my fingers crossed though, can't quite believe after all these years the dust mite and cat allergy problem could be sorted with a spray
