Be careful with the faucet attachment
Some commenters here didn't think the faucet attachment would be practical for regular use. For us it was... until it wasn't.Yes, you have to gauge your water pressure. At full water pressure in most locations, it will pop off. At lesser pressure, though, it works great, and we always got a good flow going, which for some months provided us with safe filtered water for our family. The problem is this: In our experience, the plastic on the filter is very susceptible to cracking. Why is this a problem specifically with the faucet attachment? Well, when you filter the water into a jug, you're not going to want to stand there and watch it fill, because, though it's much faster than our Katadyn gravity system, it's still pretty slow. We would sometimes step away from the setup and just let it filter for a few minutes. Unfortunately, our water pressure sometimes changes; people on our property turn the well pump on without realizing we have the filter attached, and under the full pressure of our pump, the faucet attachment pops off right off and drops to the ground. If it happens to hit the concrete floor about two feet below, it may crack the plastic, as it apparently did to ours. Although the plastic is cheaply constructed and liable to crack, this is not considered a manufacturer's defect by Sawyer, and it will not be replaced under warranty. Background: We purchased this unit through Amazon and used it in our home in Chad, Africa where we are based in an urban setting doing development work. It served our family of six well for the eight months that we used it intermittently (we alternated between the use of our Katadyn filter and this one). We have no complaints about the quality of the water or anything else, but if we get another unit, we will have to find a better way to set it up so that the risk of cracking is minimized.

Good product, zero customer service
I have purchased 2 filters in the same order. One of them worked as described - everything perfect. The second one was jammed in some way - no water or air passed through. I wrote directly to Sawyer - no answer. Tried to call - couldn't get any answer. I wrote to customer service at Amazon - standard answer: send it back for a refund. I would have done that, just that it was shipped internationally and Amazon refunds only 15 USD for return shipment. The shipment costs were almost 100 USD :(So I ended up with one defective filter. I also found out what the problem was: the resin in which the tubes are embedded had slipped inside the tubes and had jammed them. No way to clean them.Lost 100 USD and no answer from either producer or seller.

Best filter that I have used out of the country
Took this product to Africa and the water was safe to drink without boiling. Best filter that I have used out of the country. Even while in the country I still use it here in the USA for day to day supply. Best if used with square food grade buckets instead of round. By doing this it makes it easier to get a tight seal for the water spout.

The Best filter
This is my second Sawyer filter - I lost my first one. It works great, but you have to set it up right. Also remember that this is not a purifier, it is a filter. Correct setup means having good pressure. I've used this in a pinch with only the supplied tubing, which is less than two feet. The result can be less than spectactular, and you can expect about 1 gallon every 2 to 4 hours with non-turbid supply water, less with dirty water. Although that may sound like very little, that's 6 gal/day, which is more than enough for survival. Performance increases with pressure increase. I set mine up last week for a camping trip; I used a food-grade polypropelene bucket and the included drill bit to make a hole about an inch above the bottom floor of the bucket. Attached the connector by hand; it was leak free. I used an additional 8 feet of LLDPE hose and had a total drop of about 7 feet from top of water line to the filter output. I also added a valve for easy control. The result: 1 gallon in 15 minutes. That's excellent for any use, and way more than you need for camping. Sawyer rates this at 170 gal/day using gravity feed. Amazon incorrectly rates it at 1 Liter / minute. From a practical standpoint, consider that you'll likely have something like a 5 gallon storage container, and only be refilling during the waking hours (obviously). Make sure you let the water settle if it is cloudy, cover the bucket, and prefilter sediment with something like a tee shirt if the water is extra dirty. One other important point is that this is a FILTER, not a purifier. It uses mechanical action - small pores - to filter out physical particles. I recommend adding a GAC filter before the Sawyer filter if you have a concern. You can also add it after, but then you will contaminate your Sawyer filter with chemicals.

After taste was unbearable.
The taste was unbearable even after 10 gallons of city tap water. After 5 gallons I had to back flush the filter to get it to drip again.Label states 600 gallons a day. It took mine two days to do ten gallons. maybe I got a defective product. I sent it back to reinvest in something else. I’m glad I didn’t wait for an emergency to find this out.

We love and love that we don't have to be concerned ...
I've purchased three of these filters, two for others and one for myself. They are all currently being used in Tanzania, East Africa where filtering water is 100% necessary at all times. I have a family to care for and I/we do not think twice about drinking water filtered by this Sawyer filter. We love and love that we don't have to be concerned about the quality of our drinking water. It is super easy to clean and maintain and when the filter is clean, it offers instant water. Literally, our lives and our health depend on this filter and we wouldn't buy anything else! For us, it was worth the peace of mind to purchase the Point Zero Two to filter out viruses (which I don't think are a major problem, even here in Africa!), but we never have to wonder. I've heard from others that have the Point One that this one filters a little slower, but I'm okay with that. And no matter which Sawyer you get, the faucet connectors are pretty worthless. I don't care too much about that; I'm concerned the filter does its job and it does amazingly well.

Excellent product
This product worked really well for us during a recent 2 month trip to Uganda. No upset tummies and no aftertaste to the water. Just remember to buy 2 buckets!

Best thing since sliced bread
Seems pricey at first, but easy to use. It filters really fast as as well compared to other I have used in the past. Been using it for a month now in Africa and not sick once. Definitely a must if you plan to work or live overseas as you can just drink the tap water then.

To my disappointment and regret
I used it during my recent camp in Asia. Although I could not test the quality of the water it filtered, it worked well and I was able to filter rain water, river water and well water fast enough. However, on one occasion, after filtering the water, as I was hanging the filter on the rim of the bucket with the hook provided, it slipped and hit the floor. To my disappointment and regret, the black case at the front flow end cracked (photograph below). I had used the filter only for a days. Although I can put a masking tape around the crack, I don't know if it is still safe to use. I have to find out if Sawyer will replce it.

Great System
We love this filtration system. We live in a rural area of East Africa, where you can never really trust the water as it comes. However, we use this filter for all of our drinking water (and for bath water for our babies) and have never had any problems with the water. Tastes great and we don't get sick, what more could you want? If you keep it primed properly, the rate at which it filters is terrific too.

El mejor filtro.
Aunque necesita de ciertas herramientas para poder usarlo, sawyer es lo mejor en filtros. Si le das el mantenimiento adecuado dura largooo tiempo.
