NO DRIVERS AVAILABLE
I've had my CanoScan FB620U for a long time, but I cannot use it anymore because Canon offers NO DRIVER SUPPORT for Windows 7 and up. Do not buy this scanner unless you are running an ancient computer with Windows XP or earlier... but then it's not worth the price for ancient tech.

Parallel is better
Its a good scanner but with darker shades. A parallel port scanner from canon is a better one than this one.

Not for Mac
Okay, small, not that loud, fair scanning. But Canon will not release drivers for the Mac. I found other software that costs $40 but works well. Still, fair warning.

Canon CanoScan FB620U
This is the best unit to use with my Windows 98 system. It makes great scans of pictures, coins, and papers. Very easy to use, has many tools for picture adjustment, and I highly recommend it.

just OK
The picture quality is good though it's just a CIS scanner, not a CCD scanner. And it's noisy, but really a good choice for webpage maker.

Not a good seat for cats
While it worked, this was a great scanner. The drivers worked fine in Win2k with Adobe Photoshop. No complaints. Then the cats decided the scanner was a nice seat near the window. Within weeks, the scanner started making funny grinding noises and finally died today. Just ordered the Canon 8800F from Amazon and I'm going to build a frame to go over it for the cats to sit on. Hopefully it will then last forever.I was doing some pretty heavy scanning toward the end and it seemed to be holding up fine. Got it used from a friend for a very low price. So it served me very well for a very long time. Mainly used it at 150dpi/grayscale for documents and 300dpi color for photos. If you have cats, beware.

Very good scanner!
I bought this scanner a few months ago, and I didnt have any USB ports left so I had to buy a HUB port which I didn't mind much. The scans come out nice, I use Microsoft Picture it 2000 to use the scanner and I have had no problems...I once scanned a 2x3 picture and blew it up using Microsoft Imaging which came with my computer and the picture cam out unbelievably clear on a 8x11 Glossy sheet..People all you have to do is figure out how to use the settings the right way. The only small problem I have had with the scanner is that sometimes it doesn't scan at all and gives me an error telling me that the scanner is disconnected and that I should check that cables, I later found out the problem has to do with the USB HUB port that I bought, and even that isnt that big of a problem b/c all I have to do is unplug the cable, restart, and replug that cable..Just keep in mind this problem is unique to my computer (and it only happens rarely)...So for the money and the easy setup and great software, it is a great buy!
