Tektro CR710 Canti Brake Black w/ adjust 7900

Refitting my Trek 850 classic steel frame mountain bike from the 1990s. I have owned this bike since new, about 25 years, and I do all my own maintenance. It's hard to find a good cantilever brake anymore, and I was impressed with these. The pads are great as well. I expect they will last another 10-20 years. Worth the price.

Great brakes for the price

These classic looking cantilevers were a complete surprise to me. I bought them for a flat bar urban commuter build because I got a good deal on ebay and had no idea they were going to be the best canti's I had ever used. Better than some carbon FSA k-force canti's that retail for over 200.00 dollars. Much of this has to do with brake pad composition and the stock pads on these brakes are really good in the dry. Paired with cantilever brake levers, the power is almost v-brake level, but without the cable noodle and probably room for fenders depending on your frame and tire size. In short, if you want the best low priced cantilever with replaceable brake cartridges, these are the brakes to get.
