High quality CLEAN hydroton
HydroCrunch makes the high quality Hydroton that you are looking for. I love the smooth CLEAN round clay balls....easy to clean, reliable and affordable. Stay away from the irregular shaped ragged GrowIt stones!!! Because the dirt and small particles will clog your drain and damage your sump pump....like happened to me. I will repeat myself, these HydroCrunch balls are clean and uniform.....a favorite if you know what you’re doing.

Best Hydro media out there...!
Easy dust to clean off and rinse in bathtub at home, doesn't fall apart, very spherical and doesn't snag or cause clogging issues that I've had with other media. I tried a couple different versions and definitely recommend this one the best. Do warn, takes awhile to stop floating and a good soaking is really needed before media settles, but once it does, this will last a long, long time!

Great Quality and Quantity for the Price!
The product was shipped timely. I am very pleased with the size and quality of this product. No crumbs nice round size balls. Just rise before use there is just minimal red dust. One bag filled 2inches from the top of a 75 gallon grow bed. I loved this product so much I am ordering another bag. I use this product in my Aquaponic vegetable flood and drain system. The product does not alter the PH in you system too bad. Highly recommend to my Aquaponic Family!

Only clay on the outside
The package and description says that the product is Clay, but it's only Clay on the outside. The pellets do not absorb water all the way through, and are not very good at absorbing from contact with other pellets. I smashed one with a hammer, the inside is a grayish pumice material that actually repells water. After my orchids all started to show signs of dehydration, I tested in a tall clear container and water did not wick up more than about 2 inches. The product was not at all dusty (a plus) but it's because there isn't much clay involved. As soon as I can find solid clay pebbles I'll repot and toss this product. Thought this was great at first, glad I waited to review - disappointing.

These won't surprise you
In my opinion, a clay pellet is a clay pellet. Sure some brands make theirs bigger or more colorful, but for our purposes, that doesn't matter. What does matter is; Will these break down and dirty up my hydro system or not?Well so far the answer is no these will not disintegrate after much use.DEFINITELY WASH THEM BEFORE ADDING TO YOUR SYSTEM THOUGH. That's not specific to this brand either, you should always wash your pellets first to get the dirt and dust off unless you want murky water.I have bought many different brands of these and they are all the same imo.

Ok, it floats-Soak it for a while
I purchased my first bag of this to top off a grow bed and it did float while my old stuff sank. In time, (it did take about a month) this product also began to sink and settle in. That being said, it does grow hearty bacterial colonies, and my strawberries and cucumbers love this stuff. It's not as broken or dusty as other hydroton I have used. Tiny pieces don't clog up my bell syphons. I have never had a pH problem with it. I had a pH of 7.1 before adding it. Afterward I spiked to 7.6, and then it settled back down after about a week. I've filled two grow beds and two Mr Stacky(s) with this and it works great. As long as they keep selling it, I'll keep buying it.

Great brand, excellent quality. Recommend!
So I couldn’t decide between which brands of hydro balls to purchase as all had some negative reviews. Glad I went with these. I am so pleased with the quality. They are all pretty uniform in shape and size, and after using half the bag there were maybe 5 broken pieces.I do recommend rinsing them through but I would do this with any clay balls.
