The idem came and it works
The camera seems to be working fine so far , and I like it . It took my chip with all my photos on it from the same make camera and is working good it shows all the photos I had in that chip . I think that is what you call it . any way I have the old camera just like this one the lens is stuck in the out position ,and that is why I wanted this one I got from you .. Wondering would you like my old one ? I'd sell it to you cheap . and send it to you ,if you can restore it .. let me know at [email protected] Thanks

Flaky operation, but I'll keep it
My main problem is that sometimes this camera just freezes. For example, when I am switching from "rec" view (take a picture) to "view" look at shots. The lens is supposed to retract, but it just freezes. The only fix I have found is to remove the memory card and re-insert it. Then press the (TINY) power button. That fixes the lens, but then I get an error message telling me to repower again. The second try works. So is this the camera software, or some glitch in the camera-memory card hardware?I also have a problem remembering which button to push to get to the flash adjustment. I often want to turn the flash off or use redeye reduction.

I love my camera! It is easy to use and small enough to be super convenient. The picture quality is very good!

Stopped working!
This is the 3rd Casio Exilim that I have purchased. The other two (older models) are still working beautifully. This model stopped after 6 months, there's not a mark on it, never been dropped or had any water damage, all of a sudden the pic's were totally unusable, lines through them etc.Unfortunately I am not able to return it due to the time I have had it but for $134.99 it should last a lot longer than 6 months. I'm very unhappy with Casio!I bought another camera this week...this time at Target and I got a Nikon!

Great concept but poor construction.
This camera has some really great features and awesome quality photos. You can even shoot videos while simultaneously taking pictures. Your videos will have a little pause where you took photos but it works out pretty well. The big problem I had was its build. It feels cheaply constructed which is understandable at the price. What wasn't understandable is a random lens error I had one week into having my camera. Typically, lens errors occur when something is obstructing the lens from poking out in which case it retracts and tells you, but I had a lens error when I turned it off and the lens couldn't retract in. It was stuck halfway so I gave it the slightest nudge to help out. It worked out a few more times like that, until my light nudge would no longer work. It would get stuck halfway and require more force, which is obviously bad for the camera but there was no other possible way of having it retract. Maybe I just got a faulty camera because it never incurred any heavy blows or anything remotely close to damaging it but it is now unusable because the lens has failed. Otherwise, I'd totally recommend it, so I'd suggest getting a warranty on this to be safe.

CasioExilim Ex-S5
Excellent camera. Only feature lacking is a viewfinder which would help when taking pictures in bright sunlight. Very easy to use. Comes with two cables for connecting to USB port for transfer of pictures to computer. This my second Casio digital camera, and most of my family members have also gone for the Casio cameras because of the quality, price and durability.

Review of Casio Exilim replacement camera
This replaced an older Exilim model that was much better. This one does not have a docking station to recharge the battery and must be removed. Also, when I remove the camera from my pocket the battery door almost always comes open. I'm sure it will break one of these days soon. The focus on this model is not as good as my old one and takes horrible shots when zoom lens is used. This is not the camera I was expecting and stayed with Casio because I loved my first one (Had to replace it because the lens quit functioning correctly) I saved it and still may have it repaired.Casio is one of the few cameras that doesn't use AA or AAA batteries which will never do when traveling.Casio needs to make many improvements and look at their older cameras and perhaps change back.
