Glovebox Atlas Scotland SP Spiral-bound – July 1, 2012

We used this spiral-bound atlas every day we were in the car in Scotland; primarily in the highlands and islands. It worked very well. Doesn't include a lot of town detail, but it works great for getting from town to town - which is what we were using it for. It is small, but easy to read; it fits easily in the glove box or side pocket in the car. We also purchased a large fold-out touring map, which we used twice. If you have to choose one, pick the road atlas every time if you are driving. Touring maps are great for trip planning, but are too big and bulky to use in a car.

This is our third AA map - the first one slowly disintegrated, and the one we have been using is for the UK rather than just Scotland, so we purchased this one. Detail is great, and we have never had an issue with getting lost or not finding what we were looking for - and we tend to get waaaaay off the beaten path whenever possible. Have traveled to Scotland many times, and I wouldn't use any other road map. (The UK version is super as well.)

Couldn't be happier with our purchase. This was an excellent compliment to our GPS and was a great help in deciding routes before we set out for a long drive. Its small enough to throw into my backpack but still easy to read. It does not detail every small street, but the major routes are there along with the driving condition (two lane, single track...). It also helped make us aware of upcoming traffic circles, which are not as bad as we thought they would be. A great companion for a Scottish driving vacation, but we still required a GPS and I wouldn't recommend just using either along. Both this book and our GPS really made navigation much easier.

A handy atlas. There were some times we wished for more detail, especially around cities, but overall this atlas worked very well for us on a 10 day driving trip through the lowlands and western highlands. I like that there is overlap between the different pages. My wife found the spiral binding interfered with her understanding a few times, but I thought it was crisp and clear.

The AA Glovebox Atlas Scotland was exactly what I was looking for. Even though I used a GPS while driving around Scotland, I used the Atlas as a backup, and checked it frequently when I wasn't trusting the electronics. The Atlas is detailed and easy to follow, and small enough to handily fit in the glovebox. It's a great item to have in the Highlands!

It's comprehensive but as you would expect its glovebox size does limit the detail available. It's also not bang up to date. Having said that for a small scale atlas at a small price it's an extremely handy thing to have.

Perfect size but smaller print and thus a bit harder to read...our journey took us on several pages and it was challenging to skip from page to page.

Das Ding ist Klasse!!! Ich habe letztes und vorletztes Jahr eine Motorradtour nach Irland gemacht, wobei jedes mal durch das andauernde umfalten der Karte diese schnell verschliss, Risse bekam und somit nicht mehr verwendbar war.Sommer 2014 geht es nach Schottland (offensichtlich): das Teil gefällt mir jetzt schon. Passt ins Kartenfach des Tankrucksacks einwandfrei rein. Hat die landschaftlich schönsten Strecken, einige Campingplätze und die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten drin.Zum Planen der Route allerdings halte ich sie weniger geeignet, da man beim Blättern ganz gern mal den Zusammmenhang der Strecke verliert. Auch sind, wie gesagt, nicht alle Campingplätze etc drin, so dass man schon in etwa wissen muss wo man hin muss.Es ist was es ist: ein STRAßENATLAS und keine Toristenkarte!!!!!Mein Fazit: Als Addition zu "Lonely Planet: Scotland" und der Gesamtkarte "Reise KnowHow: Schottland" (1:400.000, wasser- und rissfest) , ist es perfekt zum Navigieren und Orientieren,einfache Bedienung im Auto oder bei Wind draussen (ohne den "Karten-Adler" zu machen) wofür er ja in erster Linie gedacht ist.Wer mit diesem Atlas allein seine Reise planen will, dem rate ich von Kauf ab, als Ergänzung ist er m.E. aber sehr empfehlenswert!!!!

Ein Kartenbuch was sich hervorragen als Begleiter beim Autofahren macht. Kein lästigen falten, knicken der Karte. Handhabung auch gut für alleinfahrende Touristen. Ergänzt sich gut zum DuMont Buch.

Für unsere Rundreise durch Schottland ein wichtiger und praktischer Helfer - manchmal kann auch ein Navi nicht weiterhelfen und so konnten wir die verschiedensten Routen selbst planen und nachvollziehen und haben uns jederzeit zurechtgefunden. Praktisches Format und als Ringbuch - absolute Kauf-Empfehlung.

Di una misura giusta per essere maneggevole, una scala che permette di vedere in dettaglio i posti e ci ha permesso di sapere se le strade che avremmo percorso erano larghe oppure ad una corsia con gli slarghi per le precedenze.

Waren mit diesem Atlas für rund eine Woche in Schottland unterwegs (Auto und Zelten).Die Karte hatte keine Fehler, hat uns immer richtig geführt, ist auch immer noch (trotz sehr widriger Wetterbedingungen) in einem sehr guten Zustand... ganz klare Kaufempfehlung!

Der Straßenatlas ist für die ländlichen Gebiete ausgezeichnet, für die städtischen Ballungszonen praktisch nicht verwendbar, weil dort der Maßstab nicht für eine ausreichende Auffächerung sorgt. Daneben fehlen Straßenkarten der Städte, für die man dann auf die Reisführer angewiesen ist.

Ganz brauchbar im Handschuhfach, aber kleine Straßen sind oft nicht eingezeichnet. Schade. Sehr praktisch ist das Format, denn es gestattet bequemes Kartenlesen ohne anschließende Zusammenfaltorgien.

Sehr detalliert, hat uns gut weitergeholfen.Viele Interessante Details drin.Aber Hände weg von der Ausgabe "Britain". Die kommt bei weitem nicht an diese Karte hier ran.

Cet atlas est d'un format pratique( puisque équipé d'une reliure à spirale), mais il comporte plusieurs points négatifs non négligeables :*Pas de courbes de niveaux, les sommets étant simplement représenté par de petits triangles*Seuls les camping audités par AA sont présents* Ne comporte pas l'emplacement des stations services* Ne comporte pas le plan détaillé des grandes villesEn bref, dépanne mais sans plus..

Sehr gute und für Autfahrten praktische Landkarte, in einem optimalen Formt um nicht zu behindern aber trotzdem groß genug um alle relevanten Details zu enthalten.
