This temperate-weather boot from Wellco is extra-breathable thanks to the nylon and leather upper. For added comfort, it includes a removable polyurethane contoured insole and a Vibram outsole. It's also waterproof to keep you dry all day. Wellco Enterprises was founded in 1941. Wellco's origins are rooted in the production of high-quality boots and shoes for law enforcement and the military. Today, the product line has been expanded to include work and uniform boots. No matter what the product, the philosophy of their company is the same: all of their boots and shoes are high-quality, durable, and comfortable.

US Military Wellco Desert Tan Men's Combat Boots.
Great pair of boots at a great price. I am very impressed with the fit and feel of these boots. I am usually a size 14, but I thought I would take a chance going a 1/2 size large. I am so glad I did. I have a little bit of spare room for my toes to spread a bit. I don't feel and sliding or slippage of my feet having done so. I am very happy with the fit at this time. They seem to be very well constructed. Feel just as sturdy as my GI issue boots when I was in the military. I have no doubt that I will be wearing these boots for years to come. Great job, great price and great service. Thank you.

Durable and comfortable boots but weatherproofing goes away quick
NOTE: I bought these boots about a year ago and they were not advertised as steel toe, I looked at my purchase history and now these boots say 'steel toe' so just keep in mind that I do not have the steel toe version.Have been taking these boots camping for over 10 times now. They have put up with a lot of of abuse, going over rocks, water, dirt, mud and they still look and feel great. They are very comfortable, almost as comfortable as wearing tennis shoes. The waterproofing was great at first. I would cross over creeks about 5 inches deep and kept my feet dry but after the 2nd time I took them camping they are not so waterproof no more. Now I will go over creeks but some water will get in, though is not as bad as non-waterproof boots. These boots are expensive but well worth every penny. For best results I recommend buying wool socks like theWigwam Unisex Merino Comfort Hiker 2-Pack Sock so that if your feet get wet the socks will still keep you a lot warmer than cotton socks.

Waterproof boot
These boots have been with me for a while now, and I love them! I hunt in areas ranging from rain-soaked dense Hawaiian jungle to the arid peak of Mauna Kea and everywhere in between. they have kept me dry and comfortable throughout. I wear a size 15, and these were perfect, with just enough room for wool socks and ankle braces. The soles have held up exceptionally well on the rough lava, without being too slippery on wet river rocks. I even wear them to work, and with some decent aftermarket insoles, I am a very happy camper! The only negative, as one person stated, would be that they are heavier than some boots on the market. This is because of the heavy-duty soles. The trade-off in long term durability is more than worth the few extra ounces, so I am giving these boots 5 stars.

Very nice boots
i been looking for a good pair of boots for sometime now I saw these boots and thought why not . They look good , there waterproof combat boots and they got my size and the price was just rite for me . I am a disabled vet with less than perfect ankles and this has kept me from going out in the backwoods for some camping fun I loved being out side in the woods its been 8 years now and its time for me to try and get back out there and live life as I like to . so I put them on laced them up till they felt comfy took the first few steps and I new rite then I made a good buy . the ankle support I was hoping for was there. I wore them for a few hours no hot spots at all they fill broke in rite out of the box . they are very well made and I fill like they will last a long time for me I plan on using them for hiking and camping and more than likely every day use they are that nice. so if your looking at buying them believe me you well not be disappointed at all . I plan on buying another pair next month just so I have another new pair waiting . I hope this little rite up helps .

outstandiing value,
These boots are simply marveleous, why because I am a vet from the vietnam era, the stuff we had was junk compared to these beauties, waterproof, warm, well made, great value, and the price was simply awesome, they feel like slippers, great support, I won't be taking these boots into harm's way, so I can't comment in that direction, but I wish I had these boots when I was humpin' the bush, we probably wouldn't have been such an angry mob. I hope these are at least offered to our troops! I hope this helps, just love this boot!!!

very comfortable, until the sole starting falling off.
These boots were very comfortable. They came will some poorly fitted black inserts, and fit fine once I removed those. These looked great. I wore them I day around campus, no rucking, no crawling through mud, etc. and by 1600 the sole on the right boot was starting to fall off. The left boot was fine.I give 2 stars instead of 1 for the comfortableness of the boots, and the very roomy interior, I might have gone down 1/2 a size and they still would've fit.I would give them 5 stars except the sole fell off on day 1. Also, the inserts were a detractor from the boots not an improvement.

Sturdy boot, good quality, great looking
A lot of other boots had similarly great reviews but I choose this one over those based on it's simplistic appearance, since I plan to wear them outside of combat proper :) The leather is plain with only a few small cut-outs that show thru to the textured inner layer. This allows me to wear them with vintage clothes and not have them appear too out of place.I haven't worn them extensively yet but so far they seem very sturdy. The rubber sole seems very robust and the interior material has a woven pattern that looks like it will stand up well. There is a removable in-sole that provides a good bit of cushion since the bottom underneath is quite inflexible. So far my biggest gripe is that there are no 'quick release' bindings at the top of the boot; just regular metal loops the whole way up. Also the laces will easily pull through the top loops, but this was easily remedied by tying them into knots at the ends. This provides the benefit of being able to wear them untied without the laces coming out, which is nice for when I'm sitting for a bit (to prevent leg-hair itch that seems to develop over time with all tall boots). My only other issue was they seemed a bit too tight in the toe even though I bought 9.5W (I own a few other pairs in that size that fit fine). I'm not sure if I should trade up to 9.5 double-wide or a 10 wide though, because the boot fits great in every other way. There are a few ways to stretch out boots and over time they are supposed to break in a bit anyway, so I'm sure this will cease to be a problem eventually.
