I purchased this as I wanted to experiment with different colour wood stains on a custom model that I am building This kit was great value for money as it allowed my to try the various colours rather than purchasing a large bottle. It was very easy to apply, I used a cloth on the balsa wood I was making. The finish looks wonderful and I only need to apply 2 coats. I have purchased another set subsequently due to its versatility and durability. Most probably not what the manufacturer intended it for originally but it suits my purpose.

The necks of the bottles aren’t long enough to seat into the seal at in the too long caps. All were leaking but only slightly. They continued to bubble out stain as they warmed up after transit on a cold day. I washed the lids and the threads of the bottles and kept them upright. Not a major problem and nine colours of stain was a good price. I’ve tried them on some wood offcuts and the colours are great. It might be blotchy on cheap softwood but good coverage on hardwoods. Obviously stain alone cannot turn plywood into rosewood. Best applied with a pad. Easy to blend. Excellent for my model boats. Shame about the bottles but stain was good wuality

I bought this to experiment, I have a 1960s Gibson guitar with a snapped head stock that I had repaired. This was perfect to mix colours and try out different shades to match base colours and grain. So happy with the result I can bearly see the fracture and there was a lot of filler involved with the repair. It made me feel like I could get a job on the repair shop!! Quality and easy to use and clean up, if you make a mistake you have a good five minutes to clean off and go again. Perfect, I hope I don’t break another guitar of this value again but if I do, I would definitely use this product again.

Useful to try different colours and mixes to repair dings and scratches. Plastic bottles supplied not very durable as some had leaked and left bit of mess in bag. Reasonable value for money

Bought for model-making, when you want a variety of shades, but in small quantities.

I have solid wood kitchen units stained "warm oak" with matching cornicing, dado etc. Over the years the finish has been removed from using a brush to get greasy steam cooking residues out of the nooks and crannies. However as it is solid wood, it can be refinished, the problem was going to be colour matching which can work out pretty expensive having to buy even the smallest pots in most outlets. So I thought I'd have a look online and found this wonderful little set. When it arrived I looked at all colours and picked the ones I thought would be closest to try, using a very small brush to dab a little on. Found one to be a practically perfect match and continued with it. A little bit goes a very long way, I barely used any! Once dry, I applied a coat of wax to buff it up to a slight sheen to match the rest of the units and I'm really happy with the result as I really don't want to have to buy a new kitchen, they just aren't the same quality anymore unless you pay out ridiculous sums of money. As I prefer natural wood to these plastic coated type furniture, there are plenty of pots left for me to repair other items around the house should they need it so worked out fabulously for me and saved/will save me a considerable amount of money. What's not to love?

Really impressed, I initially purchased this to stain over some wood filler as that had come out too light against the decking, although I’d used decking oil. I did some testers on a board of the old wood and picked the best colour - it worked - and dried in minutes, was easy to use, no smell. Looks great. So I then decided to buy a bigger bottle of the dark oak colour and do the entire decking blending the old boards with the new, it looks great, took minimal time to apply, easy to spread. Fantastic product.

j'ai pris les testeur car je ne savais pas quel couleurs utilisé et ça ma beacoup aidé, les couleur sont trés jolies et les flacons ont une bonne contenance.

Ottimo tester per il colore del legno, alcuni sono molto simili quindi quasi ripetitivi

Me he comprado el kit de prueba para conocerlos todos, son muy naturales y muy finos en cuanto al tono de la madera que prometen, los he probado sobre pino. Siguiendo sus instrucciones el resultado es de muy buena calidad, impresionado quedo.

Lättanvänd, vattenlöslig träbets/lasyr i 12 småflaskor med kulörer för olika träslag. Mycket prisvärt kit med hänsyn till mängden flaskor. (jämför vad tex 1 flaska/burk akrylfärg för modellbygge normalt kostar). Snabb leverans.
