XS ScubaKp04 Neoprene Knife Holder

I didn't buy this for scuba. My intentions were to be able to carry a knife under my work pants, so as not to alarm anyone. I used to carry a folding knife that clipped on my pocket. (I was just raised to believe that a man never left the house without his wallet, watch, hanky, and a knife). My employer had no issues with me having a knife, but worried that our patrons might be alarmed. Since the uniform pants are thin and light weight it was impossible to hide the folder. Too bad the knife holder and my knife sheath were too thick for it to meet my needs, and easily showed under my scrubs. With all that being said, the holder is quite nice and very comfortable to wear. It fits the SOG M14-K Mini Pentagon and sheath very well. I'm sure it would be perfect for its intended use. Instead of returning it, I will use it when I go kayaking.

Right off the bat I will say I love this knife holder. On a recent 3-day trip I did 12 dives with this strapped on my leg. It did not shift at all. The only downfall was I wanted to have it on my thigh but the straps were not long enough to adequately secure my thigh. So I did wear it on my calf which is my secondary spot. It worked wonderful. No complaints other than where I needed to put it but even that was not an issue.

Haven't used yet, but the neoprene is very comfortable. Will have to wait and see how well it holds up, especially the stitching that holds the knife. I'm going to modify that to make it a bit more secure. Also lower velcro strap may need adjusting as it is quite long and may not work well for a shorty or skins - made for a thicker wet suit or dry suit.

I really liked this item so much that I bought two. The straps are sturdy and the knife feels very secure with no movement. I have one that has another manufacturer's knife in it and still works. I believe this product can be used with any knife and sheath of the size it's made for as long as the sheath has the attachment point at the top for the small rubber straps they normally come with. The backside of the product has rubber grip so it won't shift around on wet skin or a wet suit. The knife holder will hold your knife in the place and position you strap it down at so, you will be confident when grabbing for it blindly in whatever situation you may find yourself in where you will need the blade. At this price range, it's definitely the most bang for your buck.

Comfortable and flexible mounting options given the design and strap length. Best used with their knives.

This Xs Scuba Kp04 Neoprene knofe holder is fantastic. Positive retention of a multitude of knives as well as minimal movement on your leg makes us a great product. Easy donning and doffing. My concern before purchasing this was will it hold my knife the answer yes. #2 Will it slip on my leg. Not at all. A small amount of movement if it is not tightened properly but the product will stay in place. Concern #3 Will adding that much Neoprene to one leg be comfortable. Yes it is. I honestly don’t even feel it there. Keep in mind I keep the knife on the inside of my leg. Less prone to getting tangled. However that does not completely illuminate the risk.

Mixed opinion. It is definitely comfortable. Wears well and holds up in water. The problem is how it holds the knife sheath. The lower fitting is just a pocket you slid the sheath tip into. When you pull on the knife handle, it slides out. The only thing holding at the top is a single nylon strap, so it give the sheath a lot of room to move, no matter how tight.Now I wasn’t using a XS dive knife. It’s possible their sheath has a clip for the lower end and a split for the top strap to accommodate the loop on the harness. But without modifying the harness, it will never work well for a traditional sheath dive knife.It’s a real shame because as I said, the harness feels very comfortable against the skin. Even when you’re very active in the water.

I recently purchased the XS Scuba Beta titanium knife, and while the knife and sheath were absolutely amazing, the plastic can be painful against your skin after a while, and the rubber straps were a tad annoying. I ordered this as a try/fix solution, the comfort is truly amazing, my knife, which is the one pictured, fits very snugly and securely. It feels like nothings there after a short time, much unlike the straps that came with my knife originally. A must have!
