Lord of the Rings Aragorn's Quest
What I immediately notice about the game is its comparison to other LOTR related games. What I enjoy most about this game is it's not an Electronic Arts Brand. What is very neat about this game is the fact that it's on the Wii. This is certainly a step in the right direction technologically because my one wish for the three Lord of the Rings games that came out on PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, and Gameboy Advance would be that PJ and the EA company would upgrade those games on Wii, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DS, PS3, PSP and Xbox 360, as well as the Mac, Mac OS X. Besides it would be an awesome upgrade to make to the product and make fans of LOTR go nuts and I mean book and movie fans. See what I don't like about the Battle For Middle Earth (BFME) series is you can only play it on the computer for Windows only, granted you can play BFME 2 on Xbox 360. I am not much of a Computer geek and I don't always have the patience to wait for the program to start. Plus I prefer an older system like the Gamecube, PS2 or a newer system like the Wii, NDS, PS3 you get the idea I hope. So let me get back to Aragorn's Quest on the Wii it's not only a Technological advancement but a step in the right direction for the LOTR series to be taking. I have played the Two Towers, Return of the King and Third Age games on Gamecube and PS2 and I love those games they are awesome but this game on Wii is a hell of a lot better. Sure it's not Lord of the Rings Conquest or Lord of the Rings War in the North especially not WITN and it's still an RPG and rated T for Teen. But I love the fact you can swing your sword around with the Controller and just beat the crap out of Orcs goblins, The graphics are not disappointing the only thing I was disappointed in was the way some of the characters looked. Now one thing I did know was that Sean Astin and John Rhys Davis were coming back to voice there characters and what I did not know until I started playing the game was the fact that actors Ian McKellen, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan, Sean Bean, Viggo Mortensen, Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Hugo Weaving, Liv Tyler and other actors from the movie trilogy were asked to return to voice there characters. It took me by surprise until I recognized the voices. Well, for Lord of the Rings this has been another success. I just hope in the future EA Games decides to put all of there Lord of the Rings games on other systems, besides it would make perfect sense for the up and coming two part movies of "The Hobbit."

Really for kids and casual gamers
I have mixed feelings aboutĀ Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest . On the one hand, it's certainly not the Lord of the Rings epic I'd hoped for. For that, the GamecubeĀ Lord of The Rings The Return of The King Ā is still the best bet. On the other hand, for kids and casual gamers it's not a bad game.First, this game is short and easy. For anybody who's played through the Legend of Zelda games, this will probably take less than 10 hours to beat and you will probably die only once or twice. There aren't really any puzzles, and even if there are the game system has a clue system that makes sure you never get lost. Even within that much of it is spent with boring "fetch" quests, i.e. Aragorn has to find something and return to somebody for a reward. Only in front of the Black Gates do you get the sense of an epic battle. In many other stages, the number of enemies is fairly low and things move pretty slowly.Graphically, the game is a mixed bag. I love the mix between the realistic and cartoonish styles. The pastel color schemes are particularly beautiful. Also, the Hobbiton cutscenes and levels are stunning (for the Wii). However, most of the other levels and characters have good, not great, graphics. The non-Hobbiton cutscenes are abysmal, with some sequences in which the characters' mouths don't even move.Another thing the game gets right is the Wii controls. The swordfighting is pretty intuitive and works pretty well. This game isn't Motion Plus, but it does allow to to swing your sword left or right, up or down. I thought the bow and arrow and spear could have been used a bit more, but as it stands they work well with the Wii remote. You might even find yourself getting a bit of a workout.I imagine for kids and casual gamers though this will be a nice, short romp through Middle Earth. It retells the story of Lord of the Rings succinctly and allows you to replay the key moments. Also, getting to see Sam's kids is neat. However, I really do hope Nintendo manages to get an epic LOTR game, if not for Wii than for Wii U (sadly, War in the North isn't slated for Nintendo).

Great Story, Fun Game, Definitely Worth $20!
My daughter (who is 7) and I love the LOTR series. We only have the Wii. We love all the LEGO games. Based on the gamer magazine reviews, I decided to pass on buying this. Due to all the rainy weather we have had recently, I decided to revisit this game and see what Amazon reviewers had to say about this game. It seemed to get good reviews and the price had dropped to $20. After playing the game for about 4 hours now, I have to say I am very happy with Aragorn's Quest. Harcore adult gamers will hate this game. It's too easy and not overly complex. Casual gamers, like myself and my daughter, will love, love, love this game!! It is fun, engaging, intuitive, and visually appealling. For example, as opposed to all the Super Mario series, the storyline is read to you in many places. Good god, I hate it when I have to read text bubble after text bubble. It takes some liberties with the LOTR story but I found that it worked well with how the game is layed out. It has co-op two player capability. Player 1 is primarily Aragorn and player 2 is Gandalf. Downside is that the hidden items are not that hard to find and the game won't last seemingly forever (like Zelda). Is this as good as Zelda: Twilight Princess? No way. Is this game worth $20 and is it a good father/daughter/son bonding game? Absolutely!! If this is what you are looking for, then ignore the reviews from the gaming sites and magazines and purchase it.
