Basic feature set OK, but details not well implemented; Cheap build quality
Summary:Feature-wise, it looked promising, and to be fair, it does deliver on the main points of being a basic headset. However, it's lacking in some of the details and overall quality. There are higher quality options for headsets from more established companies - such as the Midland BTX2, for example - that are far more refined, can be purchased for around the same price, and they typically offer a better after-sales support network with firmware upgrades/replacement parts. As such, it's hard to justify a recommendation for this headset.Pros:- Pairs without issue to all devices tested.- Loud! Easily good enough for use behind a full-height windshield at highway speeds (~70mph) with a full-face helmet. Holding my head into the windblast above the windshield, it required boosting the volume a bit more, but was still adequate.- Simple control interface on the headset. Easy to feel even with mid-weight gloves on.- Remote control comes pre-paired with the headset.- Remote battery replaceable without having to remove the remote from the handlebars.- FM Radio sensitivity very good. Receives several weaker stations that my car normally doesn't pick up in my area.Cons:- Not watertight - there are gaps where the USB/speaker connector goes into the headset module.- Cable leading to speakers is weak. There is no sign of any re-inforcement on the cable, and this is of particular concern as each time you need to recharge the battery, you will need to disconnect/reconnect this plug/harness.- No use-while-charging capability as the charging and speaker connection share the same mini-USB jack.- Does not support voice dialing. The call button only functions either as Call Control (reject/hang-up), or re-dial.- Static in the audio. Depending on position of the cabling in relation to the intercom module, the speakers will get some digital noise that sounds like buzzing or that "dat-dat-dat" similar to when a cell phone is placed immediately next to a radio, etc. (from the Bluetooth RF section?). Depending on module mount and cable routing options, this may be a problem for some.- No voice prompts to indicate things like Mode, Status, Radio Station. Only beeps, and you are left on your own to figure out what all the beeps mean.- Poor FM Radio user interface - FM radio doesn't remember last station. Every time you turn on the headset and enable FM Radio mode, it will reset to it's own default - FM Radio station seek isn't documented (short-press Volume+ and Volume- to seek forward/back) - Volume control during FM Radio Mode isn't documented (long-press Volume+ and Volume- to turn volume up/down).- No firmware upgrade support. Before purchasing, I was told it is firmware upgradable. However, afterwards when I inquired as to where the downloads were going to be made available, was told there is no place (which leads me to believe that there will be no firmware upgrades in the future.- Lack of after-sales support to provide spare parts. After inquiring on the speaker/mic assembly, I was told that these are not being sold separately.Other observations:- The rubber exterior feels very thin, and *may* be prone to break/leak after a while.- Charger/Headset port uses standard Mini-USB connector (caveat that only some plugs work - the plug itself can't be too thick or it won't fit into the charging/headset jack "hood").- Psuedo "Play/Pause" implementation where the headset emulates a Play/Pause for devices not supporting "AVRCP" (i.e. 3.5mm Bluetooth dongle). It does this by "muting" the incoming music stream. A problem does arise if a phone call comes in during this time, where any additional keypresses of the "Play/Pause" (now functioning as Call Control button) confuses the headset in its tracking of Play/Pause state. So after a phone call, you may need to press the Play/Pause button a time or two to hear the music stream again. A little more firmware coding might have taken care of this, but kudos to the developers for at least thinking of and trying to implement this feature.Test configurations:I originally intended on purchasing two of these for a rider-passenger setup, but purchased only one to try out first, and have decided not to buy a second one. As a result, this review did not include a test between 2 headsets. Various configurations of GPS/dongle and smartphones tested are:- Samsung S4 (standalone: Music + Phone)- HTC 328W (standalone: Music + Phone)- Garmin Nuvi 765T (standalone: Music/Navigation via A2DP)- Garmin Nuvi 765T (Music/Nagivation via A2DP) + Samsung S4 (Phone via HFP)- Garmin 2730 + Altec 3.5mm Stereo Bluetooth Dongle (Music/Navigation via A2DP)- Garmin 2730 (standalone: Music/Navigation via FM)- Garmin 590LMLoudness/road tests were only done using the Nuvi 765T + Samsung S4 configuration.

Terrible audio, poor battery life, partially garbled GPS voice messages...
I really wanted to like this product, and was especially attracted to the handlebar mounted remote control, but the overall operation makes it one to pass up, in my opinion.First, battery life is only about 4 hours and then you have to disconnect the headset from the base unit in order to recharge. I bought this for use on a motorcycle to connect with my GPS unit and frequently am out all day long, which makes this useless in the last half of the day.For some reason, when the GPS sends a voice message out, the first 1/4 - 1/3 of the message is "suppressed" as though the audio has to "spool up." This means you frequently miss the gist of the message and have to divert your eyes from the road to see what the GPS is trying to tell you. Finally, the quality of audio from the speakers provided is so low as to render the thing completely useless for listening to built-in FM tuner and (I presume) tunes from your phone.I was given a recommendation for a different brand and will be trying that. In short - don't waste your money.
