This case does exactly what it says it does. I went through tons of reviews on various products before deciding on a case for my nexus. I think a lot of people need to really remind themselves what they are actually paying for their cases in order to determine what they should expect out of them. For the 10 bucks I spent on it...I think its a great case and exactly what I was looking for to protect my nexus a little bit. The craftsmanship seems good, my tablet snaps into the plastic plate very securely, and the stand works in 2 different positions. For me...thats what I expect from a $10 case.I know a lot of people complain about the magnets being too strong or too weak. I definitely feel a snap when I close the case knowing that the magnets are there....and it does put the tablet to sleep when I close it and wakes it back up when I open it. But if I hold it upside down by the edges, yes, the front cover doest stay held on with the magnets and will fall down. But, honestly, how often are you going to be holding your tablet like that anyways?I am very satisfied with my purchase, and would buy it again in a heartbeat!

I originally had a Moko case for my Nexus 9 but it cracked all along the folding lines and looked terrible. It was no longer available so bought this Poetic. Fits perfectly, and is a nice pattern. No problem with the magnets to close/turn off. I don't use it too much with it folded into a stand; more often use it for reading holding it vertically in my left hand with the case folded back. Seems a little stiffer than the Moko in this position, but I consider myself lucky to be able to find a well fitting. good looking case for this aging tablet.

This is a simple case with no bells a whistles, but that's exactly what I was looking for, since I don't carry my tablet around a lot and don't need any pen holders, etc. The finish is smooth, not velvety like other covers, so dust and debris don't stick to it. Unlike with my previous case by MoKo, it's easy to snap the tablet in and out. I also love love the color (I got the blue one).

I bought this for my Nexus 9 tablet and my expectations in a tablet case were not high: I needed it to add some protection, wake/sleep the screen, and become a stand. This case does 2 of the 3 things mentioned. Unfortunately, this case doesn't become a stand very well because the magnets holding it together are very weak. I cannot recommend this product and will not be buying one again.

Looks nice but many problems:- Weak magnets that barely keep the cover on the screen- Same weak magnets do not hold it upright very well. It will fall over immediately on attempting to tap the screen- Upright angle is way too steep and probably contributes to the instability- Folding cover cannot be folded into a third to hold it like a book, making it awkward to hold the tablet with the cover flapping aboutNot a good replacement for my MoKo case at all. Threw that one out too soon and will be looking for something else because this folio is useless.

I have purchased Poetic cases for all my tablets to date including Nexus 10, Nexus 7 2012, and Nexus 7 2013. The Poetic Nexus 9 slimline case is by far the most disappointing. The magnet in the front/screen cover is barely strong enough to keep the cover closed against gravity. The cover could also be better fitting when closed. The front cover opens with the slightest touch. The case does fit the Nexus 9 well with all the ports and buttons exposed / easily accessed. The camera cutout is perfect. The case will definitely protect the back cover of the nexus 9 from oily fingers. It will not protect the Nexus 9 from falls to a hard surface but it wasn't design for that. I hope Poetic releases a revised version of this case with a stronger magnet and better aligned / fitting front cover. They did so for the Nexus 7 and provided those who previously purchased the case with a free upgrade. It is because of that excellent customer service that I keep returning to Poetic for my tablet cases. If they improve the shortcomings of the current version of the Nexus 9 case, I will revisit and revise my review. In the meantime, caveat emptor (i.e. let the buyer beware).

I really like this case. I got it in red, which is maybe a little brighter than I'd have liked, but it looks exactly like the picture.The case is very slim, the plastic enclosure is secure and still pretty thin. The front feels nice and magnets closed perfectly. Enough that if I'm not paying attention it's easy to confuse the open side with the hinge side.The magnet closure also works perfectly with the screen sensor. My old (now broken) HTC keyboard case's magnets would leak through the back and confuse my tablet; this one just doesn't do that, it's perfect all the time.

I have had several Poetic cases in the past and they have all been very good. I purchased this case several months ago, when they first came out. My originally purchased case would turn off the display when I folded the cover all the way back behind the tablet. I guess the magnets were too strong or something wasn't right. I contacted Poetic and they immediately sent me a replacement case which was great!I've been using the case now for several months, on a regular basis, and everything has been excellent. The fit of the case is fine and the case makes it much easier to hold and handle the tablet. The quality is good and if it's like the other Poetic cases I have purchased, it should last for years. The case can be folded to stand up the tablet but I don't now how well it works because I really don't need a stand for my tablet and have never used it.This is a very good Nexus 9 case and sells at a good price. I highly recommend it.

This is, just like all Poetic cases, a great product. Perfect fit, quality look and feel.owever the magnets in this case, used to hold the case closed and for the wake-up function, cause my Nexus tablet's magnetic sensor to go all crazy: With the case on the tablet cannot be unlocked, as the screen goes straight back to off after swiping to unlock. This can only be solved by restarting the device. My research has shown this to be a widespread issue amongst these tablets and not just with the poetic case, but any case having magnets. Google/HTC unfortunately is unwilling to help...Anyways, despite the case being unusable for me because of poor quality of the tablet, I am rating the product at 5*. Delivery by Smart Shop was lightening fast, even to mainland Europe.

Been using for a couple of days now. The cover doors the bare minimum required to cover and protect your nexus 9. Biggest disappointment is the seeming lack of any kind of magnetic closure as advertised. This means that the front cover doesn't really close securely and just flaps loose with any movement. It also means that the cover doesn't securely fold backwards into a stand. It takes a number of tries to get the nexus to stand upright and even then it feels like it will collapse with the slightest touch. The front cover is also a couple of millimetres too narrow leaving the far right edge of the screen exposed when closed. On the plus side, the back cover holds the nexus9 securely and the cutouts for ports and controls are well placed. The materials are also nice, if a bit budget. In a word...mediocre.

if it would have a firm closed state I'd give it a full heart 5, but as this is a case, it's doing its job pretty well. it protects the back very well nexus fits firmly, and the screen too if you can keep it closed in a bag when traveling . fortunately it doesn't have a metal clip that would hurt the screen scratching, but the front this can open easily. it's working as a stand great, just do the bending properly and then it will stand firmly. looks classy and mid premium with its artificial leather, good to look at it, and leaves the metal edge of device visible.

Fits like a glove to the Nexus 9 and the strong magnets make the cover stay closed and act as a stand. My tablet is immaculate after months of using this cover and I'd recommend it highly.

Poetic does it again by producing a fantastic case that does what it is supposed to. The tablet feels secure and is well seated in the 4 corners of the case. Unlike other cheep imitations the case stays units upright position when folded and the tablet does not slip and fall over. All the buttons and speaker cut outs are accurately made and the fit is very precise. The magnetic smart lock work well but not every time but I am putting this down to a problem with my tablet rather than the case.

This case snaps firmly to the tablet and uses the tablet's built in magnets to keep the flap closed when on the front or back of the device. With Poetic's 3 year warranty I'm sure I'll never have a problem with it.

If you want a slimline case for your Nexus9, this is the one you want. Light, thin, protective and operates the slieep funtion when closed.

The main issue that I have had with the item that I received is that the magnet that is supposed to hold the case in its "stand" position is very very weak. In fact it won't act as a stand. Return / refund requested.

Its nice, it would be better to have an elasticated strap to keep it closed, but still a good shield.

Does the job perfectly. But you need to add the Pelicase for travel protection.

I've been a fan of Poetic's tablet cases for a while.This one looks smart, fits well and is generally a good case. The stand position isn't 100% though - you have to make sure it's definitely in place otherwise it falls back sometimes. Not a major problem just a bit of a nuisance sometimes.

A great case, much better than the official Google one which was a disappointment.

Great case. Well worth the money

Great case. Clamps on to the Nexus 9 very well and the cover feels very premium although it is faux leather. I like this one more than the MoKo one since the back of the case is also covered by the faux leather, making it feel more premium than a simple plastic back.Contrary to some other reviewers here, I experienced no problems when using the cover as a stand, regardless of which position I used. I feel as if the magnets could've been a little stronger but the force is on par with the iPad Mini smart cover so no big deal.

This is a nice case, and the color is bluish which is nice. The stand works good enough, but could've been a little better. It's sturdy and protects the screen when closed. Cutouts and ports are accurate. Well worth the price.
