Great product and support
This is a great knife, works really well and stays sharp. The lock is a great design. After a couple of months I had a screw come out that held the side plate and the company sent me 2 new screws for free!

This is my favorite EDC knife.
This is my go to edc knife. The deadbolt lock is a good conversation starter when loaning someone my knife.

Amazing lock mechanism
Pros:The locking mechanism and blade design of this knife are fantastic. This knife profile was designed by the late Kit Carson. The lines, proportions, balance, are simply great. The deadbolt locking mechanism was designed by Flavio Ikoma, is a CRKT exclusive mechanism, and is quite simply the strongest, safest locking mechanism in the knife industry. I really appreciate that in a self defense or emergency situation, this knife is going to stay open and functional. Using the open knife, you can really tell how strong the lock is. This blade also features Veff serrations, another CRKT exclusive, which are great for cutting cordage or straps in a pinch. The blade also has a flipper toggle, which is a must in my opinion. Not as nice as a flipper with spring assist, but that's the price paid design wise with the deadbolt locking mechanism.Averages:The blade is made of stainless steel, which has its pros and cons. Not the sharpest edge retention wise, but durable in the ductile sense that it won't shatter on you when you need it most like in a self defense scenario. Also the blade itself is practically rust proof, which is nice in an outdoor scenario our on a rainy day, meaning you don't have to baby it maintenance wise. The IKBS bearings are serviceable, not the smoothest I've seen, but totally acceptable right out of the box. I've seen complaints about the bearings from other reviews, giving a grating action, but the knife I received was smooth enough I can't complain about it, your millage may vary. The pocket clip can be adjusted for right or left handed use, which would put this feature into the pros column if you're a lefty.Cons:My two complaints which relate to each other: the black nylon handle scales don't seem all that strong or solid. I would have liked to see G10 or micarta scales at this price point. By themselves they are not really a deal breaker, however, they add to a compounding issue: the pocket clip is only held in place with a single small screw, and relies on the nylon scales to keep the clip from rotating. This combination is a negative. I would have like to see either a stronger scale material, or, two screws on the clip to prevent this from being a future issue. As it stands this is the only weak point design or durability wise, but does not present a catastrophic failure issue, so is a minor complaint. All and all this is a really great folder knife. I would trust my life to it above other folding knives based solely on its locking mechanism. It is attractive and utilitarian in the right ways, and is my everyday carry knife at the office where a fixed blade is too brutish to carry. 4.5 stars.

Amazing blade and mechanism
This knife exceeded my expectations. It looks and feels amazing, and the deadbolt closing mechanism is really cool. I've got dozens of folding knives, and many from CRKT. This one is easily in my top five.

Undecided.
The media could not be loaded. I really want to love this knife. But I don't.The good:I love the way it looks, the way it feels in my hand, the security of the lock, and the weight. The bad/other:It came so stiff that I couldn't open it fully with the flipper. No big deal, right? So I dropped a couple tiny drops of lube on the pivot area and played with it for over 2 hours to try and break it in a bit. No luck at all. Zero.So I tried adjusting it, first the spring tension, then the button tension. If I adjust the spring to make it open easier, the blade drags on the liner from the lock button tension, which pushes the blade tip to the clip side liner, where it rubs.If I loosen the lock button tension 1/10 of a turn to make the blade not drag and scrape, it opens perfecrly and closes with some rub, but otherwise ok, but the blade wiggles and rattles it's so loose when open, and the button is janky and doesn't seem to work properly when closing the blade sometimes. With the button tension backed off even a tiny amount, I can push the sides of the knife together by the lock with my fingers (with the blade open), and there is a noticeable and visible gap that closes when I squeeze. The gap is wide enough it causes the blade to be loose, like 2-3 degrees of free movement loose (see in video). When I squeeze it shut, the blade no longer moves, but it will no longer flip open and it drags on the liner. No amount of adjusting or tightening anything removes that liner gap except cranking the lock button back down all the way. Plus any adjustment of the lock button makes the activation janky, to the point I wouldn't carry the knife for anything other than just strictly light utility use.So maybe it's a ME issue, or maybe it's a defective unit, but whatever the reason, I can't find an in-between where it will function properly in all respects, only a tradeoff between opening or a loose blade when open, and I'm not going to disassemble the knife to try to fix it.I got a great price on it ($45 total, on sale with an additional coupon, for a $110 knife) and there was a 3 week wait to receive it, so if I have to choose between keeping it or just getting a refund, I guess I'll just keep it. But right now, I plan to return it for replacement.I will be talking to CRKT phone support tomorrow, hopefully it's an easy fix I can do myself, so I don't have to return it.I have other CRKT knives (LCK+, Hisastsu, etc) that I love, so I'm hoping I just got a bad apple. For reference, the video is with the button backed off approximately 1/10 of a turn, which stops the rubbing on opening, but it still rubs on closing, you may be able to hear it scrape in the video. You can see the amount of blade movement at the beginning. If I tighten the button all the way, the blade movement goes away, but the blade drags on opening and it's nearly impossible to flip open with only the flipper.

I think it's a great knife and makes a great gift
Love this companies products. Always well made this is the fourth knife i purchased from them. A well made pocket knife and I'd still have the one from 2013 if I hadn't lost it.

Not worth the money
Knife blade rubs on housing after a few months of daily carry. This led to the knife locking up and or being difficult to open. Would not recommend this knife as a daily carry or in general.
