Debunking some complaints, an honest review.
I purchased this model to replace my Sonicare Flexcare that retired after a few years of double duty as my wife and I share the same handle. After reading reviews on the DiamondClean, I was reluctant seeing that people were complaining about the charging glass, the single button, the lack of a multi-bar battery indicator, the storage case breeding bacteria, the gap between the brush and the handle... Then I put some common sense to it all and bought the unit. No regrets. The handle performs superbly. The tactile feel of its surface is pleasant, beautiful in its matte purple finish and functional providing good friction for your fingers, even when wet. The DiamondClean head is definitely superior to the regular head. The head upgrade is worth it for Flexcare users in that I feel their cleaning and polishing performance is superior . I read one complaint about the head not sealing at the handle. I am glad it doesn't as this allows for some flexing of the head once in your mouth making the handle more pleasant to use. The complaint referred to the breeding of bacteria in the space between the handle and the head but the gap allows you to rinse the toothpaste away and for the handle to dry completely where what water would get in there if the head attempted to seal at the handle would meet a perfect bacterai breeding environment. Another complaint many had was the single button making it difficult to select the desired setting while the brush is in the mouth. I use only one setting per use and simply turn the brush on to select my setting BEFORE I wet the brush and apply paste. The handle remembers the last setting selected so when you put paste and turn it on in your mouth, it's on the setting you selected when dry.The lack of a multi-bar battery charge indicator is irrelevant to me as I use the very elegant and convenient charging glass. By storing the handle in the glass, it is always charged. Besides, it can go for days on one charge with two people using the handle daily. The charging post of my old Flexcare formed bacteria on the base from water pooling and heat being generated from the charger and needed to be cleaned regularly. In the glass, the handle is tipped at an angle making surface contact very small allowing the water to evaporate. The glass stays relatively clean, certainly much cleaner that the post chargers. Someone was mentioning that his handle wouldn't charge if next to a metal medicine cabinet. Mine is and I have no charging issues. I angle mine away from the cabinet but I have not tested if it would be affected if angled towards the cabinet. Finally, the charging case is simply brilliant. It is elegant, functional and classy. Just let the toohbrush head dry before inserting it in the case. Besides, it is a travel case and is meant for temporary usage. Putting a wet toohbrush in it for a few hours here and there won't hurt you. Just think of the traditional travel "tubes" you put your wet conventional toohbrush in. This is not much that different. In all, this is the best performing, most elegant toothbrush I've owned. The accessories are fun, sleek and well thought of. I highly recommend this product. My only complaint is the price but you do get what you pay for if style and higher quality feel is important to you.

Amazed I'm raving about a toothbrush, but it's that good.
One year review: This was my second Sonicare toothbrush, after my last one essentially stopped charging. I was happy to see the update to use inductive charging, and love the fact that it travels in a charging case. I'll be honest however, the charge on the toothbrush is so good - I have never charged it during travel. I regularly take this on 10 day trips, and use it twice a day for the suggested 2 minute cycle. It start's to get the battery warning in the 8-10 day range, but has actually never quit on me. It has also lived up to being in it's case, and in a checked bag for over 40 long haul flights. So it's robust, that's for sure. If you've never used a sonic toothbrush, it's a game changer in terms of the cleanliness you get vs. regular brushing. This is a premium offering, and it's definitely targeted at folks that will travel with their toothbrush. If you are not a traveler, perhaps you'll be better suited to a lower cost Sonicare product, as they both clean well. If you catch this on a sale, it's a no brainer for the upgraded features/design elements.

Awesome product even for one that struggles to brush teeth.
This is awesome product and I own an older version of this. I have to be honest - all my life I have struggle to brush my teeth, but because of recent events with my dance instructor - I decided to purchase this unit and I was amazed with the results. Keep in mind for me this is big deal - all my life my mom has told me to brush my teeth and I really need to change my habits lately, I have lost two back teeth because of my poor habits - and right before this, I had a big dance weekend. So I purchase this unit and I was amazed after a just a couple of days - I decide to purchase some Phillips whiting tooth paste and my teeth are significantly better - I even went to dentist yesterday and I honest felt my teeth were better than leaving the dentist on previous occasions. If Phillips could solved the flossing issue, than it would be perfect. I like Diamondhead brushes because they are smaller and I have small moth. I also purchase and uses the special diamond head whiting brush. In fact, after I finish this review, I am going head up stairs and give my teeth a brush.
