This minimalist trail runner from Patagonia keeps feet steady through trecherous terrain. Patagonia's reason for being: Build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm, use business to inspire, and implement solutions to the environmental crisis. Patagonia grew out of a small company that made tools for climbers, as a result Alpinism remains at the heart of a worldwide business that still makes clothing and shoes for climbing--as well as for skiing, snowboarding, surfing, fly fishing, paddling and trail running. In each of these sports, the reward comes in the form of hard-won grace and moments of connection between the athlete and nature. Patagonia's values reflect those of a business started by a band of climbers and surfers, and the minimalist style they promoted; the approach they take towards product design demonstrates a bias for simplicity and utility. At Patagonia, a love of wild and beautiful places demands participation in the fight to save them, and to help reverse the steep decline in the overall environmental health of the planet. Patagonia donates their time, services and at least 1% of sales to hundreds of grassroots environmental groups all over the world who work to help reverse the tide, and they work steadily to reduce any pollution and harms caused by their business activity. They use recycled polyester in many of their clothes and only organic, rather than pesticide-intensive, cotton. Staying true to their core values during thirty-plus years in business has helped create a company the employees are proud to run and work for, and their focus on making the best products possible has brought success in the marketplace.

Love them. Patagonia, please make them again.
Amazing shoes. It's too bad Patagonia stopped producing them (due to manufacturer issues). I love these so much I bought two pairs before they went out of business.I have tried and tested through one pair (currently on my 2nd). I wore my first pair almost every day (no exaggeration). They did run a bit small, I usually wear a 10 and I had to get an 11 for it it fit.I also highly recommend combining these with 'snap' laces. You can easily slip them on and off and they feel great on the trail.I used these for backpacking, hiking, running, and day to day activities. These handle great on the trail. I spent 2 weeks in Glacier Natl Park with these and they performed well. True, they are ultralight shoes, so they dont offer the same support and protection as boots, but I had no problems with stability. Every now and then I'd get jabbed with a protruding rock but that would probably hurt in a boot. The best part is that because these are so light I can fly down the trail without the foot and calf fatigue I usually get. I also walked over 500 miles with these in multiple Smoky Mountain Trips with no problems. These are also great because they are so breathable. I could ford the mountain streams by just walking through them and they would be dry in 30 minutes via body heat. I've used these multiple times as 'water shoes' when hanging out at the lake. My favorite part is that these babies clean so well. After a week on the trail they get reeeaal dirty but I'd just soak them in warm water and soap and take a toothbrush to them. They came out looking brand new every time. After about a year and half of daily use my first pair finally started to tear in the sole lining (the outer shoe showed little wear and no holes despite my constant use). I did an adventure race where a lot of dirt and grime got under these holes after walking through a swamp and tore the soles apart. But after all I put them through I wasn't too upset and I decided to retire my first pair after that.I know these aren't made anymore so a review is kinda moot but I adore these shoes. Well done, Patagonia.

Great shoe but be warned they run small
Excellent shoe. They are smaller size then what I was expecting, be warned. I think they are sized assuming a very thin sock. I happened to be trying this out during cold weather with a normal athletic sock. I typically wear a size 8.5 to 9, bought these at 9 and tight.

I really wanted to love this shoe
Fits great, light weight, flat sole, no elevated heel, even looks good. Its just too minimalist and a little more aggressive sole would have gone a long way. I slip a bit on step climbs because the tread from the ball of the foot to the toe is almost bare. That coupled with feeling every single rock makes me spend a lot of time looking at the trail so as to place my foot perfectly. So close but I would not recommend this shoe beyond banging around on dirt roads.

Way, Way too small.
I wear a size 14 and require a larger than normal toe box and these shoes provide space for neither. The size runs at about a 13 and the toe box is very narrow. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the time frame requirement for returning items with Amazon, so I'm stuck with a pair of shoes that I cannot possibly wear.

Awesome.
Such a great shoe. love them. The arch support on the outside edge of the shoe is a little high for me and I have a high arch but they are still new and not broken in yet. I love the light weight and minimalist approach. The toe box is huge, maybe too much room, hopefully once they are broken in I can pull it a bit tighter, they are a little stiff right now. We will see how long they last, as of now I would definitely buy them again. very happy.

OH MY GOSH these are LIGHT !
love these shoes for trail running and rock scrambling there light weight and mesh construction makes them a great camp shoe for backpacking. I also really love how far these lace up they make the shoes fit extremly well. my one complaint about these amazing shoes is that there is very little protection form rock bruising running on a rocky trail which isn't that big of a deal because of there light weight but in any case i would buy these again

A little small for me.
Just got these shoes today and it feels like they won't work for me because the toe box is too narrow. There is plenty of room for my big toe but the three smallest toe tips rub a little bit. I bought these in a size 11. Soloman, keen and brooks fit me in a size 11 and pearl Izumi in a size 11 1/2.
