IMHO - best bivy up-to-date
aka Carinthia Observer Plus.Increases the temperature rating for about 10F.Ideal for “restless” sleepers and / or extended periods of use, when comfortable sleep becomes increasingly important: it can easily accommodate larges gear, say, Therm-a-Rest inflatable sleeping pad of size L, 82x25” / 208x63cm, and a winter sleeping bag (even the heavy-wait, Western Mountaineering Cypress, size L, 5.5lbs/2.47kg; or Feathered Friends Snowy Owl EX, size L, 5.4lbs/2.45kg) inside. With still enough room in either feet or head area to put backpack, shoes, clothing, and more. For me, only con is: there are mash openings on both – front and back sides of head; however, in good worm weather, when the side is fully unzipped, there is no insect mash above the body. So, in that case, the protection from mosquitos ‘d be to keep it side-zipped. In that mode, the bivy is usable only below 64F/18C temperatures at the very maximum. A big brother of this bivy, Micro Tent Plus, has the advantage of insect mash with a raincover unzipped (however, the Micro needs to be staked to use).Sizing (in cm, my own measurements):- Not operational/when flat: head-shoulders - 110; hips -100; feet - 75;- Operational/with poles inserted: length - appr. 220; shoulders - 80; distance between ends of poles - 90; maximal height of the pole' arch - 56;- For me the sleeping pad insert straps on the bottom are impractical. Width of the sleeping pad insert bottom outside straps - 60cm; 'd accommodate W=51cm mattress/sleeping pad; too narrow even for the Therm-a-rest XL sleeping pad (W=63cm). For me to put Thermarest inflatable pad inside works best - can accommodate any tipe&size pad this way - with a largest down sleeping bag. Enough room for backpack in the feet' end.The fabric - Gore Tex Air Permeable Membrane - is the most breathable. Much more breathable than used in Gore Tex hardshell / rain jackets; much more breathable than the fabric of another good bivy - the Black Diamond Hooped Big Wall. As a result, the bivy can be closed completely without risk to suffocate, providing absolute weather protection. The weight by producer seems incorrect: the full weight (carry sack included) is 1572g, of which 234 are poles and the 63g - the sack.

It was easy to pack and really light weight
Bought this a couple years ago. Took it hunting and it rained. I stayed completely dry and was still able to keep an eye out for game. It was easy to pack and really light weight. Thinking of getting the one man tent next.
