Well worth the money. Will last you a good many years and is one of the best I've used.
This is an amazing mouse especially for the price. I paid about $45 years ago and it was well worth it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone from office use to gaming.Pros:-Very comfortable solid design. Easy to hang on to. Its not an itty bitty mouse that feels like it was made for a laptop and feels unnatural to use.-The battery life is great. I use it several hours every day and the 2 AA batteries last easily a month if not a couple. I just know they last long enough that I forget the last time I changed them. Also not that this matters but you can use the mouse with just one battery in it. I don't know why you would want to but just in case you're in a pinch and can only find one.-Two side buttons and a clicking mouse wheel are very useful for gaming, push to talk voice chat, or web browsing. Just be careful because the side buttons default settings are "go back" and "go forward" on web browsing so you might throw it against the wall after you typed an email for the last 30 mins just to lose it when you accidentally go back a page.-Scroll wheel is very smooth. You can't hear or feel annoying clicking as you scroll. Has a nice rubbery feel to it with groves for better grip. It also has horizontal tilt scrolling which I honestly don't use that much.-Very durable. I have had this mouse for about 4 or 5 years now with heavy gaming use and it has held up great.-Pretty long chord for the wireless receiver. About 4-5 feet long.-Easy to install. Just plug and play. Press the button on the receiver and then the one in the bottom of the mouse and you're good to go.Cons: I've only had a few problems with this mouse since I've had it. They weren't that major and I think that's pretty good considering I've had it for 4-5 years.-The reason I'm buying a new one which isn't really that big of a deal is in the last month it has started to double click when I only single click. You go to highlight or drag something and it opens it. The mouse still works great I just thought I would donate my old one to a friend and get a new one since its only $25 or so shipped.-The scroll wheel got sluggish. Its fine now but it went through this phase where it would randomly get sluggish and a little harder to scroll but still usable.-I don't think this is even an issue with this mouse because I own kind that has the "leather" material where your palm goes. The buttons on it had this sort of rubber coating. After a while it gets gooey and wears off. I just scraped it all off so the buttons are just plastic which is what I think this mouse comes like anyways.

5 Months and it's trash
The thing worked fine at first. Having owned Microsoft mice before, the non-clicking scroll wheel didn't bother me. The custom buttons were nice. The ginormous receiver was easy to hide. However, after 5 months, it stops working, period. The red light stays on on the bottom of the mouse, but if I move the mouse or click the buttons, nothing happens, even with new batteries and re-syncing the mouse. Over the last month it had its good and bad days, where it randomly decides to work or not off the same batteries, but now it won't work, period. And there is no warranty.Other downsides from when it DID work:It didn't work from across the room 11 ft away--shouldn't a giant receiver at least give giant reception?Went through a pair of AAs every few weeks and had NO off switch. My keyboard is still going fine after 9 months on the same batteries, different brand of course.

Great Mouse w/ Exceptional Battery Life!
Ergonomics on this mouse are very good. I did have a wired IBM mouse that had a slightly better "handshake" design that felt more ergonomic, but it kept freezing up on me and the wire was a bother.Switching over to this mouse was easy, but it did take me about 4-weeks to get used to the slightly different mouse speed. Mouse speeds are interesting because they seem to be different between brands. I found that my previous mouse speed was in-between 2-settings for this mouse. So, I set it on the slower speed and eventually got used to it.Buttons are good but not great. Middle mouse button is stiff, although I rarely mis-click it where it activates the side-scroll function. The side mouse buttons are easy to click, but the one furtherest away is to far away in my opinion. I do a lot of copy/pasting for my business and I'd prefer to use both side buttons. But, to reach the far one, I have to completely shift my hand on the mouse. I'm sure they did this on purpose so you wouldn't click both, but I've seen better designs that do accomplish good button placement without the need to overextend your hand.Battery life is EXCELLENT! I had one wireless mouse that was top notch, but the battery life was 13-days! I'm going on almost 2-months without any visible drop in power (as indicated on-screen) on the 5000 mouse!Overall, great mouse.

Great Mouse as expected.
I bought this mouse to replace my previous Microsoft Wireless optical mouse. My old mouse lasted for about 5 years and was still working perfectly. It was just a bit worn down in appearance because I abuse it alot with gaming, etc. I wanted a mouse that was as good as my previous mouse, so I purchased this one which is nearly identical. The only real difference I can see is that the new mouse has the tilt wheel function. It is handy but takes me a little getting used to. I still try to click it and drag pages horizontally.I really love this mouse though. The extra buttons are perfect for gaming or can be set up for anything you want. It's smooth and feels solid and being cordless and optical make it great for gaming. Especially for the FPS's that I love to play.I purchased this at the same time that I replaced my keyboard with a Microsoft Digital Media Pro Keyboard. They make a great combination and the prices can't be beat. Both were delivered the day after I ordered them and were easy to install with USB or PS2 connections.
