Mighty Bright 42610 TravelFlex Book Light, Black

I live in a dorm situation where I share the room with multiple other people. With everyone sleeping at different hours, we try to keep the lights off as much as possible. This is quite a problem when you want to try and read at night. I was in desperate need of a book light after my last Mighty Bright broke (I twisted the head too many times - beware, they will snap off). Yet, even after I broke it after my own negligence I realized how great of a light it was so I looked to buy a new one.The last one that I owned (Xtraflex) was really nice and had great power. I never had the need for using BOTH LED lights. Plus, it was on the heavier side so I looked for a Mighty Bright that was a bit smaller. The TravelFlex is perfect. The one problem that I had with the Xtraflex was with how heavy it was. Your hands or wrists would get tired trying to hold up either a paperback or hardcover with it attached. That problem is fixed with the TravelFlex. It is virtually weightless. Clipping it on to my book adds no noticeable weight which is great.The light is perfect. You can shine it in the middle of a large hardcover book and it will still perfectly illuminate both pages. Yet, the light isn't so powerful that you wake up your bunk mate. You can use it in pitch black room and not have it light up the whole bedroom which is nice when you have roommates. I haven't used it long enough yet to see how long the battery lasts but it shouldn't be too much of a problem to replace since it only needs 1 AAA battery. It is small and flexible and light enough to store anywhere during travel. It was a great purchase and I am extremely satisfied.

Love how bright the light is, actually used it during a temporary power outage to find the flashlight. Uses 1 AAA battery so it's not very heavy. The flex arm is long and I'm able to move the light up or down on my Kindle screen (again, I love bright illumination while reading in dim & dark areas). It also fold slimly, I put it in the small slip pockets of my Vera B purses.Battery life is long too. Occasional use in the dark since Dec 2010, usually when we go on trips, an hour here & there. During our last trip, after reading for 3 hrs straight in a dark hotel room, it's started to dim, so I'm going to change the battery for the first time.The clip attaches easily to my 2 different Kindle jackets & stays on, only flopping occasionally. On the Trip jacket, I clip it to the folded corner on the left. On the Leisure jacket, I clip in inside the zippered pocket & keep the zipper under the base to hold it in place. I have tried to clip it on my naked Kindle but I felt very leery about it possibly scratching my Kindle, plus my personal phobia that it would pinch or break something inside the Kindle, so I just clip it to the jackets instead. I just ordered the M-skin so I will edit my post once I test this book light with it.Excellent purchase! Good price & I highly recommend. Oh, they also sell them at Books-a-million for the same price here on Amazon, $10-$12.99 (for those of us who want instant gratification).

My Kindle has me spoiled. I hate trying to read with the room light on, and when I read myself to sleep, I don't want to bother with switching off a lamp. Since I can't seem to get away from paper books, I treated myself to this book light.=== The Good Stuff ===* The mechanics are nearly perfect for me. The wand is long enough and flexible enough to get it into a position whereby it illuminates a whole book. Full-sized hardcovers are a bit of a stretch for it, but both pocket and larger-format paperbacks are illuminated just fine. The wand stays pretty much where you put it, and the clamp keeps a good grip on the rear cover/final chapter.* I have been using it on a single battery for longer than I can remember. I'd estimate that I get over 30 days use out of a single AAA battery.=== The Not-So-Good Stuff ===* There is really no easy way to carry this in a travel bag or backpack without it getting banged up. It almost fits in a toothbrush holder, but not quite...so I'll have to keep looking for something to protect it.* The last few pages of a paperback can be problematic, as the rear cover is often not stiff enough to support the light. In my case, I mostly read non-fiction, so there are always quite a few pages of indexes and notes (that I seldom read) to support the light while you read the last pages.* There is a great tendency to keep messing around with the light to get it focused just a little bit better.* The switch drives me nuts- I always seem to have trouble turning it on or off with just one hand.=== Summary ===The light works great. It lights up most any book I read, although full-sized hardcovers are a bit of a challenge. Still, for the price, I love it, and use it all the time. I'd recommend it to any night-time reader.

Only had them a few days but so far I love these! I got them for my kids in the car. They like to draw a lot and now that it gets dark earlier that has become an issue. They were using the overhead light to see but that makes it hard for me to see while driving. I got one for each kid and they were great when I used them the other night! The amount of light is just enough for them to see their books but not too bright for me to drive safely. Very flexible and holds it's spot well for the most part once you set the light...clips easily to their car seats though it did take me a bit to find a place to put them, but I can't dock the light for that issue. My favorite part is that it just takes one AAA battery. We do a lot of cross country road trips and trying to find one of those circle batteries that most of these use while I'm on the road is not all that simple. Easy to store in the car when not in use. Great buy. For those wanting to use this at night next to a partner in bed I don't think it would be too bright, especially if you just point the light slightly away from them. It seems to be just the right amount to me, but like I said, I did not use it in that fashion.

Pensé que el cuello era más largo pero aun no siéndolo tanto cumple bien su función. El hecho de que use una batería AAA en vez de baterías de reloj la hace aún mejor. Ampliamente recomendado.

Finally a product that actually does what it says. This is my third purchase for a book light and it's the only one that actually provides enough light at night while reading

I bought this for Rs.600+. The light is focused and bright. The flexibility is awesome. It is light weight and clip is good. Just saw at Landmark a similar quality product available at Rs. 250. Feeling let down.Great product. Exhorbitantly priced. If you want convinence - delivery at door step - then this is a great product.
