AKG K 518 LE Limited Edition Folding Headphones - Red

These are great all-purpose use headphones. Fantastic sound quality and good price too. AKG headphones never disappoint. I own their high end dj headphones and have used other high-end models as well. Love this brand!

Good sound quality for the price. Also the block out a lot of outside noise which is nice. But the amount of pressure they put on your ears makes them hard to wear for an extended period of time.

I really can not understand how these headphones can get a rating of 4 stars; obviously, people like them but AKG has really dropped the ball with the 518 series; and that's unfortunate because the sound quality is actually quite good considering the price. The faults with these headphones are that they are incredibly uncomfortable to have around your neck, something I hadn't thought of testing before I bought them. Since I wear them on my daily commute, I prefer that they don't choke me when I don't have them on my ears. There is no position in which you can have them around your neck that is at all comfortable, and I have a small neck. The second problem....arguably worse.....is that the jack is very poor quality and does not properly fit in the female receptacle of any product in which I've tested them, the result being that the connection is unstable and cuts in and out. On the up side, I find them reasonably comfortable over my ears, in spite of the fact that they are relatively tight fitting. I wouldn't describe them as junk, but I wish I hadn't bought them. I'll order a pair of of Audio Technica MH50x, the best deal out there for all around comfort, build quality and sound

I love the sound quality that these headphones provide! However, if you wear glasses, I don't suggest buying them (unless you have a tiny head). They get uncomfortable quickly, especially while wearing glasses.

I bought these to replace a set of the early AKG Quincy Jones headphones, which are the best set of headphones I've ever owned. In every way, except durability, I leaned on them wrong & broke an earcup off. I bought these because the specs were similar, but the were about $30 cheaper. The really feel like knock offs, the build quality is inferior to the Q model's, for the first week, I really thought the sound quality was really, really, bad. I finally noticed that the headphone plug was bent, right out of the box. I may get the Q's fixed, but I don't think I'll be buying AKG's products anymore. The 518LE headphones were that bad.
