★★★★★ Absolutely Worth It for Small Dogs!
These Virbac C.E.T. Enzymatic Dental Chews have become part of our daily routine, and both my dog and I are happy with them. I use them as a supplement to regular tooth brushing, and they seem to be helping keep her teeth cleaner and her breath fresher. My dog absolutely loves them and gets excited every time she sees the bag come out. Unlike some dental chews that break into tiny pieces immediately, these hold together well and give her several minutes of chewing time. She carefully nibbles them down to the very end, which helps keep her occupied while also providing the dental benefits. One thing I especially appreciate is that they don’t seem to splinter or crumble into lots of small chunks. I always supervise while she’s chewing to make sure she doesn’t choke, and so far we’ve had zero issues. The extra small size is perfect for my small dog, who’s about 13.5 lbs and three years old, and she handles them easily. It’s still early, but her teeth look cleaner, and they seem to be doing exactly what they’re supposed to do. If you’re looking for a dental chew that your dog will actually enjoy and that lasts longer than a few seconds, I would definitely recommend giving these a try! Bonus points for being one of the few dental chews my picky little girl genuinely looks forward to every day. 🐾❤️

My dog’s favorite dental chew by far
These have become my dog’s favorite dental treat. She gets so excited when I bring one out and carries it around like it’s a prize before settling down to chew it. She has even tried bringing one along on walks because she doesn’t want to leave it behind! Our veterinarian recommended these, which gave me confidence in trying them. They last a surprisingly long time compared to many other dental chews we’ve purchased, making them great for both enrichment and helping keep her occupied. I appreciate that they serve two purposes—supporting dental health while also providing a satisfying chewing activity. If your dog enjoys chewing and needs a little extra mental enrichment, these are definitely worth considering. They’ve become a staple in our house, and I’ll continue buying them.

Helps prevent plaque build-up when used daily.
I have two 8 lb dogs and both like these, the petite size. Consistently get 30 in a package, consistent length and thickness. One dog is crazy about them but there isn't anything edible he doesn't like. The other doesn't always eat his at one sitting but he won't let the other dog take it away from him. To me they smell like non-food. These chews aren't rawhide, at least the very small ones aren't. They are brittle and break off when bitten. All chews are choking hazards. For my crazy boy, I've had to do the choking manuever twice on him, once for rawhide and once for watermelon since he won't chew anything he thinks may be taken away from him, he just tries to swallow it whole. I have used the larger chews for my standard poodles when they were still living. All my dogs have benefited from these chews. My old poodles only required one dental cleaning during their lives. My current little guys (known for teeth problems) have no tartar build up at 4 and 5 years old. Part of this is because they also like to chew on their toys and play fetch. I do no other dental care with them. Hope this helps.

Effective; vet recommended; dog is happy
Though a little expensive, these enzyme oral hygiene chews are great. Two vets have recommended them, my dog loves them, and her teeth and gums look good. And her breath is fresh. She’s only four, so I’m not expecting problems, but I’d rather be ahead of the game than behind it. And, lord! I don’t want to brush her teeth!

Better than Oravet
I used Oravet dentals for my dog for about 2 years, recommended by his vet for dental disease. They would work for a day or two. But his breath would still stink, he'd still get a lot of plaque it was bad. These are great for him. They help with plaque, helps with his breath up to 3 days at a time. They're quite large sticks for sure, longer than my phone. I think it has caused my small boy to gain some weight so we have to walk him more. But it helps with his teeth and breath so its very worth it!

Serious choking hazard!
Edited UPDATE!! My original review is thrown out of the window. My dog has choked a total of 3 times now and regardless of the expense; they are going in the garbage. My dog IS a gobbler, I supervised him very well after he got a chew stuck twice. Even with intense supervision he still got a part of it stuck in the back of his throat choking him. It is dangerous. Please don’t give this to any size dog. I included a tape measure to show he tried to swallow in a picture. When it gets well chewed, it is softer and more pliable on the outer part of it. He thinks he can swallow it and it goes all the way across the back of this throat cutting off his airway. Please be very careful with this product!! I hope my vet takes my fear seriously enough to not recommend this!! Please read the entire review. Stars don’t really matter with this product!! I purchased this product on the recommendation of my dog’s veterinarian. Of course, the price point is much better for my budget on Amazon. The recommendation was combined with a dental chew by the same company that I purchased at the same time and have used in tandem for my 11 year old APBT. He has always had very bad breath; despite vet sedated cleanings. My dog loves to “get his lick on” and as he ages, his saliva has only gotten worse. My husband is his designated lickee that bears the brunt of the endless licking. My hubs has been complaining more and more about his breath and at my dog’s yearly visit, the vet told us to give it a try. It has taken 2 weeks, but there is definitely a difference. Again, I’m using 2 chews together. Since it’s working, I’m not switching things up for trial and error. I hesitantly recommend these rawhide like chews (treats). They are working; however, he has swallowed the last piece and the chew has been stuck all the way across the back of his throat, choking him, twice. Both times, I have had to reach in and pull the softened last piece out of the back of his throat. These chews are thick and very stiff at first and become pliable as it is chewed. He is a “gobbler” and swallows the last bit before he it has been chewed enough to be swallowed down. It would be so easy to just give him a chew and let him enjoy it on his own. DO NOT give this unattended. The first time, I thought it was a 1-off. The second time it happened, I know that it will happen again. This is not an inexpensive “treat” and it’s working. My dog treats it like it’s a last meal. There is pretty much no smell and he goes through all of his commands and slides across the floor and jumps on his bed for it every night when I open the bag. I now sit with him and monitor his chewing the entire time a treat is out. I take away the last bit before he has the chance to swallow it and choke. I put it on a paper towel to dry out to give it to him the next day with absolutely no problem. This has prevented his choking and there have been no further incidents. My dog is 65 pounds with a big head and I can shove my hand down his throat easily. If I had a smaller dog, I don’t think I would use it. Again, I can only recommend this, under very close, constant monitoring. I rated it 3 stars for the efficacy of the chew, which is working. I would use extreme caution.

Chemical smell/inconsistant
Our dog Duke loves these chews. He gets one every evening after he eats his evening meal however, this last bag I opened smelled chemically.. I got one out to give to him and he wouldn’t take it. He just looked at me like where are the good ones. I don’t really want to give them to him and now I’m in trouble because he has no dessert! also about the thickness. Some of them are very thin, and some of them are so thick that he can’t chew them. What is the coating made of? Some have it some dont sometimes its brown or theres grayish stuff however the chemical smell is concerning. The product is good for his teeth look great for a 9 year old standard poodle. Pricey, especially when you’re not sure what you’re gonna get. Thank goodness we just have him. I think this is the cheapest I’ve found that bag it’s $29 but he loves them so much so could you do something about the smell or the texture and I don’t know what the Brown coating is but he likes that it must be beef or something to that nature. I think we get a new bag this week sometime and I’m on subscribe and save if you could get in touch with me about the chemical smell, I’d appreciate it and so would Duke.

Great even for picky dogs
Another way that helps my dog maintain their dental hygiene. My dog is quite picky but will eat these. They make her breath smell a bit better too.
