I have had quite a few butter dishes over the year some better that others. I ordered the Adirom butter dish because it has an airtight lid and a designated knife.I saw some reviews of the previous model having a less than perfect seal. But I am definitely satisfied with the seal on this improved model. The lid stays in place even when the entire butter dish is turned upside down with a stick of butter inside.The magnet which holds the knife in the lid is very convenient and is strong enough to hold the knive while turned upside down.Great designs as well.A really high quality product overall. Highly recommended! Especially for the low price...

It's a butter dish what more can I say. I read a review saying the lid didn't fit right or didn't seal. don't worry about the seal, they have A new model and the seal is perfect! 100% airtight!. It's a bamboo lid and a melamine (kind of plastic, just much better quality) dish.. The product arrived in good shape, looks exactly like the picture and holds butter like it's supposed to.the magnet with the knife just grate. Couldn't be happier!

I received my Butter Keeper today and LOVE IT! The melamine is in perfect condition and has a nice heft to it. The lid is completely smooth-no roughness at all, and appears to be already sealed as water just beads up on it. Just in case, I did put a light coating of coconut oil on it just to be sure but it really didn't seem to need that at all. the lid is not dishwasher or microwave safe.The dish is the perfect size for a half pound of butter--either two American sticks or the European half pound such as Kerrygold or Plugara. The lid sits on the dish with A perfect sealing. I really wanted something that is not breakable but would look nice on the counter and keep a full package of my Plugara so that I didn't have to cut the half pound and take up fridge space. This is perfect for us(melamine is 30% plasticAnd 70% very high quality material so it doesn't feel plastic at all!) Buy with confidence and Enjoy!

I actually love this butter dish, I wasn't sure I would be happy with it since it opens from the top and isn't just a plate with a top like your typical butter dish...but I LOVE it. I was also worried it would be too big but I love the extra space, it is nice to be able to toss butter remnants from the stick right into the dish. The lid seals great and the knife was a nice little add on. I didn't think I needed that feature but I actually use it all the time. We heat our house with a wood burner and if I leave butter on the counter it will melt...but in this container it just softens my butter to the perfect consistency.
