Traditional 84" Tall 18-Shelf Triple Wide Wood Bookcase in Dry Oak

The bookcase looks very nice and well built. It's a good value for under $600. I saw similar bookcases selling for over $900 elsewhere. It came in two boxes, which need 2 people to bring inside. Installation is not easy, but a lot of fun. It took me almost 5 hours to put the pieces together. People complained about the instruction manual is not clear. I found it not true. The step-by-step instruction is clear and just needs to be read carefully. The bookcase is very sturdy once installed. It is very heavy (over 200 lbs) and requires two people to move it, or you can put furniture pads at the bottom and then slide push to the position. Make sure that you secure it to the wall at the top to prevend tipping with the included hardware. Overall, I am very pleased with the bookcase and would definitely recommend it.

This is a sturdy bookcase, suitable for a bibliophile like me. It is not my dream bookcase (you know, the ornate kind with ladders), but it is a relatively affordable alternative for a book home that doesn’t bow or buckle under pressure like the cheap ones from the local stores.It was a little hectic to construct (we had duplicates of steps 5 and 6 and completely missing steps 7 and 8 so we had to wing it). But it is definitely worth the trouble. The backing is not the flimsy cheap cardboard and the instructions have you place extra screws in to secure backing to the dividers. If you aren’t careful, to can miss/nick the dividers like we did. I chalk it up to user error. The backing has a small gap near the middle but once install is complete I don’t even think I’ll notice. I still have to anchor it to the wall and install the shelves before my books move to their new home, but so far I am extremely pleased with my purchase. Will likely purchase a second because I don’t think it is large enough to house my entire book collection.

Very nice unit for the price. Assembly instructions are not 100% accurate, but if you pay attention you should be ok.Some examples:1. Step 1 says to insert 6 dowels into each divider, but it’s actually 9 per. The holes are predrilled and there are 3 in each spot.2. Step 4 notes 3 dowels per piece (top & bottom), but it should be 6 per, again 3 per location.3. Step 6: the picture does not show the cam holes in both dividers, but both dividers should be in the same direction during this step (with the long dowels towards the bottom piece).Few tips to keep in mind:1. you are installing from the back of the unit, so do it on carpet, a rug or blanket.2. If you can, flip the page once you start the actual assembly so the bottom will be where you are placing the unit. Then you’ll only need to flip it up and not move it far.3. I would recommend a plastic handle screwdriver as there are a ton of screws (the back is screwed on, not nailed like most). Rubber screwdriver gives you a nice palm blister.Finally, there are not 15 adjustable shelves, but 12 (4 per section). The next to bottom shelf in the picture is fixed and the other 3 shelves are the bottom of the unit. So it is 18 shelves (6 per section), but only 12 are adjustable.

Quality bookcase finished well and easily assembled (if you read instructions first).Took about 2 hours with one person, don’t rush end assembly, and two people to raise and put into place.Cover floor with blanket/ rugs but keep level to prevent any scratches.Other bookcases similar to this are 1000.00 or more. This one is well priced! Quality all the way!Fed Ex was shipper and needed my help bringing into garage. ITS HEAVY! 250+ lbs. (2) boxes about 125 lbs each.

Pro tip: Lay down a large blanket! Lay pieces out on the blanket face down to put together. I didn't lay down a blanket and ended up scratching a piece from sliding it.Directions really suck. -1 star for that. I took a while to figure out what pieces were what, I had no labels.The pieces are heavy and seem to be good quality for the price. I don't usually attach to walls but this thing is so heavy and the base isn't as wide as the actual bottom of the bookcase so there was a chance it could fall over. This thing isn't going anywhere now.The color is true to description, expresso. I love the customizability of the shelves. Again, wish the directions were a little better written.It took me hours to put together but I was only doing a little bit a day after work. I recommend two people just to make doing all of the screws easier. I am very happy with how it looks in our study.

The item was difficult to put together. Most of the parts weren't clearly marked and the instructions were not too clear.

I had to make a lot of alterations to keep this heavy furniture standing, your design Carries slot of weight in the front and most walls have a decorative stock which puts . the wood is quality (aka not ikea), I gave them 3 stars because cymax gave me 86$ discount when I opted to return it. The instructions will be easy for anyone who has made furniture consistently but this thing is not for first timers unfortunately. I recommend you update the instruction sheet, and make long screws and wall anchors. Any wall with decorative molding will make it too short to fit.
