Star Wars Darth Vader Elect Lightsaber

The media could not be loaded.  I bought a green, blue and red light saber for my three kids as Easter presents. Today is Easter 2016, so they have been playing with them for just a few hours. These light sabers are very sturdy, have excellent sounds and light up nicely! When you push the button it lights up and you hear the startup swoosh sound and then the distinct electrical hum. When you wave it around the hum sound changes pitch just like in the movies. When you hit something with your light saber it sounds like the signature clashing, sparking and electrical spitting sounds. When you push the button again you hear the turning off swoosh sound and the light turns off. It uses three AAA batteries. The telescoping color part of the blade doesn't retract fully into the handle. The handle is about 9 to 10 inches and the blade sticks out around 9 to 10 inches from the handle depending on which color light saber you buy. It is 19 inches long from the bottom of the handle to the tip of the blade when retracted, but extends to 32-1/4 inches long when fully extended. Here is a tip for you: If you hold the middle section of the telescoping blade with one hand and twist and push down the tip section with your other hand and then hold the bottom section and twist and push down the middle section, it will be easier to retract that way. I like that you have to do this because that means when the blade is extended, it stays extended during play and shouldn't retract accidentally. It is fun for kids, yes, but fun for adults too! Since I bought three, I discovered you can put two light sabers, handle to handle, to have a double light saber like Darth Maul had. That is fun and they snap or lock into place making it very secure. Just push a little button in the connector piece (color matched to your blade color) to release, then turn and pull to disconnect. I have included a short video of my three kids battling each other in the dark so you can see how they look and sound! You know you want this... take it from me... they are awesome so just buy it already!!

For the price it is a neat replica of the Jedi sword. I gave it to a friend after we joked about needing "the force" to be with us! She loved it. It does have realistic sounds. Even my 18 yr. Old daughter thought it was cool. It's all plastic but it does what you need it to do!

It is indeed more of a child's toy, however, it's purpose has been fulfilled. Fairly accurate hilt design, excellent durability, lightening is decent (difficult to notice in a bright environment, superb in dark environments), sound is great and very accurate to the movies, but the sound motion sensitivity is slow and often does not synchronize. The length of the lightsaber is short, only 28". Compared to a Darth Vader FX lightsaber, which I would guess is 44"-45" since most FX lightsaber approximate length is 44". Darth Vader's lightsaber from the movies is 57". The connector is irrelevant unless you have 2 or more lightsabers, and the concept of constructing your own absurdly large lightsaber is neat, I like it. Great product for kids, decent for adults.

My whole family is more than a little obsessed with Star Wars (heck, there's a dozen pieces of Star Wars art in our living room alone!), and our oldest decided he wanted to be Luke this past Halloween, so my husband had no choice for his own costume! We got cheaper sabers for the kids (3-year-old Han wanted one as well, so we bent the rules a little!), and theirs didn't make it into November, but this one is still going strong well into January!

This is a great piece for young kids, or those otherwise in a pinch. I do not recommend for serious fans intending to have it compliment a quality costume. The best part are the sound effects which are worth a reasonable nod. The color action is not strong from hilt to tip, it fades a bit towards the top. This makes for pour photo quality if pictures are taken at the wrong angle or in the wrong light. The extend/retractable feature is only annoying because it does not retract all the way back into the housing. My child has a similar, non-special affects, light saber that retracts all the way, so it is very odd they could not incorporate it here.

it's perfect for the young in's, it just the right length for a kid to extend and collapse and it makes all the realistic sound effects even on contact,and its great the you can join two sabers together at the ends.This is not a Cosmo sword, its a toy and it does not completely collapse back down into the blade compartment.I bought this for my child after seeing the Star Wars movies and its perfect for ages 4 - 7

Wow! I purchased this sword for my grandson, for his birthday. He was over the moon with it. The sword is well made, and had all the appropriate sounds, when turned on. The package was delivered promptly. I did have difficulty opening the box it was delivered in, so I wrapped the whole thing. My grandson however, tore through the box in no time at all. "Darth Vader" is his favorite character in the Star Wars movie.

The media could not be loaded.  Mi hijo está encantado. Creo que sí no hubiese tenido los sonidos no le hubiese gustado tanto. Le da un efecto realista muy bueno. Es fácil de manipular para un niño de 5 años. Ahora solo a cuidar que no rompa la casa jaja

Bought this light sabre for my ten-year old daughter for Christmas, as she has recently discovered Star Wars. It's to go with a BladeBuilders set, so she can build a more elaborate light-sabre, as well as having a weapon for opponents. The light-sabre is well made, seems highly robust and looks excellent. She is delighted with her new toys.
