Q: Do these fit small like the other dickies shorts?

Yes they fit small. I'm a big guy and normally wear size 48 waist. Couldn't get them buttoned at all.

Q: How deep are the pockets?

Pockets are deep enough but extremely narrow so one item at a time can be brought in or out

Q: Are these button enclosure?

I bought several pair. Some were button and some were metal clasp.
