Fritz is the Best
Fritz almost beats deep blue from the 1990s I read online, also with it you can connect free with thousands of chess enthusiast around the world in seconds. have no problems using Fritz 13 and all of its functions.Fritz will save all your online games and if you like you can go over every move any time and fritz will show you the correct moves for every position. It beat my ten year old kasperov chess computor in one third the time that it used.It is a $165.00 dollar machine and rated one of the best from its day it can not stand up to fritz 13.Fritz can look more than forty moves ahead during a game.My old chess computors could solve almost any problem on the board but can not come close to it.My advice is to buy it.Buy fritz13 download or CD.

"Fritz Chess 13:" going backward in order to go forward.
Sometimes, it appears, you gotta go backward in order to go forward. Case in point: at Amazon yesterday, I exchanged a downloadable version of Chessbase’s newer (and more troublesome) “Fritz 14 with Deep Fritz 64 bit” for an older but apparently better “Fritz Chess 13” program.I’ve written an Amazon review about my recent frustrations with Fritz Chess: Fritz 14 with Deep Fritz 64-bit [Download]. Like its younger sibling, “Fritz 13" does still occasionally misbehave, but it doesn't freeze up, hesitate, or give me blinking screens, disappearing clocks, and “Not Responding” messages anywhere near as often.“Fritz 13” is apparently the second version to incorporate the “Microsoft Fluent UI” style ribbons. In “Fritz 14,” they were a complete puzzlement to me. Maybe it’s because I’m getting used to them, but the ribbons in “Fritz 13” seem far less cluttered and confusing. They’re still a bit “clunky” in places, and they still could use some improvement… but at least I can find my way around now without getting lost.Like “Fritz 14,” “Fritz 13” launches with both its chess clocks and engine stopped. After contacting Chessbase's technical support team, I found out this is normal operation. I managed to find a “work-around," though, so with a couple of mouse clicks, I can start a game, and if I have to close the program before I finish, I can resume it. The only downside: when resuming the game, the clocks reset to their full preset value. This is also normal operation. It’s not exactly what I would call user-friendly programming; I think that in an unfinished game, the clocks should reset to the value left on them at the time the program is closed. How well “Fritz 13” plays chess? Very well indeed. At its maximum settings, it weighs in with a hefty super-Grandmaster level 2950 Elo rating. With my middling playing ability, I typically find myself in “Fritz 13’s” training area. Here I can use one of several “handicap modes” that allow me to play games against an opponent with a somewhat better skill level than mine. I always face a tough, challenging adversary that wins more often than it loses, but doesn’t mercilessly beat my brains out and dishearten me every time I play a game.By going backward to “Fritz 13,” it appears that I've gained a more stable chess program that works better than “Fritz 14.” By downgrading, however, I did lose a chess engine capable of using the multiple cores of my computer’s processor. This isn’t a problem because I can load any UCI-compatible multi-core engine into “Fritz 13,” and it works just fine.Bottom line: “Fritz 13” is a solid chess program that earns my recommendation. DON'T BUY FRITZ
What a load of rubbish! This software has not been tested.- I found 2 error messages before starting my first game and had to uninstall and reinstall everything. The installer offers lots of nice options to minimise the products footprint but unless you accept the default full installation it crashes during use.- I found another bug within the first hour and keep finding bugs like docking windows that won't close, option selections that are deselected mysteriously become selected again, ticking clock sound that does not stop until you kill the application.....- The interface comes with a built in Heckler. Someone who jokes and criticises every move (not in a constructive way).- Lots of extra stuff you don't need but not even basic stuff like announcing check or showing the material taken (although it does show material advantage)- I thought that this program would come with lots of configurable chess boards and pieces but there are only 5 2D board layouts and 19 3D board layouts. That may sound alot but they are just slight variations on the same piece design.- The training is dismal, a kind of hit and miss guessing game. Nothing like ChessMaster.- The "Openings Tutorials and PDF eBook" is just a help file for the program in PDF format (231 pages) with the last chapter (18 pages) covering the basics of chess (i.e. how to set up the board, how the pieces move etc. There is no tutorial on chess here)I am sure people in the know buy Fritz for its chess engine. But it is marketed as a Chess Tutorial. On that basis this product is rubbish and not worth your time. If the postage back to America wasn't on par with the cost of the product I'd send it back in a heartbeat.

Fritz 13 Chess Engine
Useful to play chess by correspondence in the ICCF. It's not invincible since I beat it once. Best engine in the world in the endgame.

Not Worth Your Time And Money
To be fair: there really is no good chess software out there. This came to me about a month's time after ordering. Cheaply packaged and made. I would not recommend this to anyone. With the online resources of chess games and research out there. This gets a bit outdated and the software is fairly confusing. I have only used it for its chess interface for analyzing games. The rest? Not so useful. The videos can't even be seen.

fun
A bit confusing at first. Once you figure it out it is a lot of fun, strong engines with many features, great for learning.
