HOLY GRAIL for a minor rosacea girly for that every day look
After YEARS of searching for a good tinted face sunscreen, Iโve found the one. I waited until I finished an entire tube and am about to order a second before I wrote this review. Iโve tried just about every one out there from tower 28 Sunnydays, several Elta md, several la roche posay, alll the Neutrogena, image, skin better, and more. As someone with rosacea that doesnโt wear makeup often- I like a tinted option and need to stick with mineral sunscreens, but I am not a fan of the shiny glass skin look, especially since my husband also uses the face sunscreen and hates shiny. The best way to describe this product is that it is a blend of the MD Solar Sciences mineral creme (a fantastic option for normal to oily skin in dry weather places with some serious tinted pigment coverage, but very bad for humid places as sweat droplets just sit on your face), elta md tinted uv daily, and the Neutrogena purescreen mineral uv tint (similar to elta md very shiny, not much tinted pigment coverage but affordable and has this great blurring effect). See images for comparison of the Neutrogena purescreen vs this Australian gold. The Australian gold has a matte finish and similar to the md solar sciences- SHE THICC but the product is very breathable once applied. This sunscreen doesnโt have as much pigment coverage as the md solar sciences, but there is a blurring effect similar to the Neutrogena with a teeny bit of extra pigment coverage just to help make your skin tone look cohesive and hide minor redness. I uploaded a before and after application picture and you can see it literally looks exactly like my skin in the before picture, just the slightest bit less red and more consistent coloring across my cheek, but it doesnโt hide my freckles at all. I donโt wear makeup often, but when I have worn just a bit of blush, mascara, etc on top it has worked great. However, the times I tried to put on concealer or my IT cosmetics cc cream on top it didnโt go so well. So, this definitely works well under most makeup but it doesnโt play nicely with foundations since it leaves very dry patches on your face and does not allow your foundation to blend (it comes out very speckled/splotchy). As far as sensitive skin goes- Iโve had ZERO skin irritation with this product where almost every other product causes me to break out for a few minutes upon application and then chills out. Iโm fairly certain it is the niacinamide in most sunscreens that causes that reaction and this product doesnโt contain it that Iโm aware of. Many reviews mention this, but the product is very difficult to get off. In the mornings I have to wash my hands with soap 2 times before it is off, but to me it has felt like a small inconvenience for the way it makes my skin look like mine but better. I double cleanse at night with the elf holy hydration cleansing balm and then my normal Vanicream face wash and itโs been perfectly fine! I havenโt noticed extra breakouts or anything due to this concern. Now, along these lines- the product is very transferable before drying and even after itโs dried when you are taking your clothes off especially on white clothing. BUT it hasnโt been anything some micellar water hasnโt been able to fix! Stain removers didnโt really do anything to get rid of the product on my clothing, but micellar water as soon as you notice the transfer has worked wonders. All in all- this doesnโt work great under foundation, but it gives a beautiful skin like look with blurring and very slight color coverage for the every day look!

Matte finish, great coverage, and no greasy feel
Iโve tried several tinted sunscreens over the years, and this one has been my favorite so far. What I love most is that it doesnโt leave my skin feeling greasy or heavy throughout the day. The finish is smooth and velvety, and it helps even out my skin tone while providing enough coverage to soften the appearance of dark spots and minor imperfections. On days when I donโt want to wear foundation, this gives me a more polished look while still feeling lightweight. I also appreciate how well it works for everyday wear and the value for the price. For me, it combines the main things I look for in a tinted sunscreen: sun protection, a comfortable matte finish, and natural-looking coverage. Definitely a product I would purchase again.

Great combo product, loving the coverage and feel!
I am absolutely loving this sunscreen! It goes on really smooth, and offers really nice, even coverage. Did not experience any irritation, which for my sensitive skin is like striking gold! No eye stinging, and it holds well against sweat/water. It blends and matches with my pale skin tone fairly nicely. Plays well with makeup on top of it (as long as you let it settle on your skin before putting anything else on top). My only wish is that there was a lighter shade. I donโt see an orange hue on my face per se when I put it on, but it definitely makes me look a littler tanner, and I have to make sure I blend it very well and use some on my neck so it doesnโt look unnatural (the only reason itโs 4 stars instead of 5). Due to this, it actually gives my skin a more lively color, which Iโm not opposed to at all. Just need to be careful when blending. Itโs definitely heavier than the foundations Iโve used in the past, so removing at the end of the day requires a little more effort. But, this isnโt a drawback for me, just something to get used to, and also a testament to its skin coverage! I will definitely continue to use this on days I want to wear makeup as a replacement for my spf and foundation. I am already considering buying another bottle just to stock up!

This is impressive
I have worn probably 50 different foundations since I started wearing makeup in 2013. From mineral powders to Wet N Wild Photofocus to Estee Lauder Double Wear and Juvia's Place, I have tried so many different things, but my combo skin is too powerful for all of them. My T zone oil melts anything on it like it's been hit with acid. Several years ago, I gave up trying to keep my face matte in the right places and just accepted that it wasn't going to happen if even a beloved luxury $50 foundation wouldn't work. I've been wanting to wear sunscreen more consistently, so I was looking into tinted sunscreens. Years ago, I wore BB creams from Maybelline which were good enough for me at the time, but I wasn't interested in going back to that one. I found a review I trusted that highly recommended this, so I decided to try it. A little about me: I am 30, so I have some minor dynamic fine lines, but my skin texture is very smooth because I use tretinoin. I have combo skin - my t zone is so oily I could scrape it off and cook with it some days, while spots like my jawline and undereyes are pretty dry. I prefer a satin finish in my foundations. This was completely unexpected, but this product lasted all day without oil breakthrough for 14 hours. Granted, it is cooling off here, and I was in class all day, but usually my foundations start breaking down in 5 to 6 hours in conditions like this. The oil around my nose is just barely starting to peek through, and the product itself still looks nice, not like a slimy mess. I am shocked and so happy I gave this a try because I've never found anything that performed this well. Double Wear is close, but it also is very thick and can look mask-like. It also seems to be somewhat transfer resistant, which is great. I wore this for the first time to a charity even tonight and wore a white blouse - the neckline came close to where I had makeup placed. My shirt does not have makeup on the edge, so either the makeup stayed put, or I managed to avoid touching my shirt to the makeup. The only con I see right now is the shade range. Luckily, the undertones seem to be pretty neutral, so it won't look absolutely insane on people that lean warm or cool. But the depth and light of the shades leaves much to be desired. A few extra shades, and a very deep shade, would be nice additions. I have a light medium cool olive skintone. I accidentally purchased the medium to tan shade, which still barely works for me since we're coming out of summer. I am sure that by the middle of winter, I will need to repurchase this in the lightest shade. Overall, if you have oily skin and have a skin color that this product covers, give it a go. I am sad that they don't offer this in more shades because I feel like so many women would love this product but can't wear it.

Excellent matte tinted SPF that covers hyperpigmentation!
Okay I am obsessed!!! This product was recommended in a skincare group I follow on Facebook. I have been on the hunt for the perfect tinted SPF that provides โmakeup-likeโ coverage for my PIH/hyperpigmentation and isnโt shiny!! My skin is oily and I donโt want to appear shiny at allโฆ And I must say - this product might take the cake. I have tried SuperGoop (which i absolutely love, but still a bit glowy and is expensive) and DRMTLGY (which is okay but still too shiny and coverage is light) and EltaMD UV Clear tinted (love it but also too shiny) but this one from Australian Gold checks off pretty much all the boxes. I will say - the color tones do run warm for the medium/tan and I lament the lack of tones โbetweenโ fair/light and medium/tan, and options for neutral and cool undertones. However I have found a layered blend of the two works well for me. I am a neutral light/medium. I first purchased the medium/tan one simply because it appeared that most people who purchased this product tended to buy that one, and from the posted photos women in lighter skin tones than me were buying that one. It felt like a safe color for me since I donโt like looking pale and Iโm currently pretty tan towards the end of this summer. When I bought it and tried it out, it was pretty dang close to my skin tone but just a tinge too warm/orange for my skin tone. I held onto it but figured I should try the fair/light one as well. I received it today and that one has pink (cool) undertones and is too light for my skin. But when I blend both of these together and rub it into my skin it is a perfect match for me. The cool tones from the fair/light and the warm tones from the medium/tan appeared to have neutralized into a neutral undertone and gave me the exact color I was looking for! Regarding the coverage, I am beyond happy with it. This is also a BB cream so its consistency is thicker than a typical face SPF and it covered most of the red spots on my face from aged acne scars. Is it AS MUCH coverage as makeup? No not complete coverage but covered it enough for me to be satisfied with its outcome. I find if i want more coverage I can apply a green-tint CC cream on first and it helps neutralize the redness. I am THRILLED with this because as I age I want less and less of a makeup routine and have been really focused on skincare/sun protection and this product can completely replace makeup for me now :) the finish is MATTE and not shiny in the least! It wears well for hours which is awesome, although the typical recommendation is to reapply SPF every two hours. Idk how it would look to continue layering on an SPF as thick as this one and I have not tried it yet so I canโt speak on thatโฆ Itโs also a mineral SPF (50) which I love - the chemical ones tend to make my eyes sting. I have no problem with this one whatsoever. I do recommend applying serums like Hyaluronic acid and a great AM moisturizer prior to wearing this on your face for a smoother application and to keep your skin hydrated. Since this one is matte, youโre not going to get many โnourishingโ ingredients from this otherwise. All in all this is a 5/5 for me and I am very happy with my purchase. So much more affordable than the others Iโve been using too! I hope this helps :)

Itโs Make-up with SPF
I bought this as I was looking for a sunscreen with mineral filters that would go on without a white cast. I liked that there were three shades available instead of a universal tint. Before I state my pros and cons, if thereโs one thing you need to know before purchasing this product, itโs that THIS IS NOT A SUNSCREEN WITH THE ADDED BENEFIT OF A SHEER TINT TO OFF SET THE WHITE CAST. THIS IS A LIGHTWEIGHT BUT BUILDABLE COMPLEXION MAKE-UP WITH THE ADDED BENEFIT OF SPF. Pros: The product went on smooth and creamy with a tint that blended well with my skin tone; it had a pleasant scent without being overbearing; the ingredients list looked good. Cons: The water resistant claim is suspect as sweating broke the product up on my skin; this is not a color fast tint formula and the sunscreen will stain any fabric that comes into contact; while lightweight on first application, the product layers on very thick on reapplications and the tint builds and becomes more pigmented; there was some oxidation as throughout the day it becomes slightly more orange. Iโm disappointed it didnโt work for me. Iโm an active person who sweats a lot and travels place to place on bike, so this is not a sport friendly sunscreen. Thatโs not to say itโs a bad product. It has elegant formulation would really work as an affordable alternative to liquid foundation if you wear make-up. The SPF 50 is pretty high compared to many liquid foundations, CC creams, and tinted moisturizers which usually have an SPF range of 15-35 so thatโs a plus. Ultimately, I think Australian Gold has a good product but they really need to distinguish this more as a Beauty product with SPF rather than advertise it as an everyday sunscreen with tint.

Dry skin folks, please don't be afraid to try.
I have dry, dehydrated, sensitive skin. Chemical sunscreens irritate me and physical formulas with high zinc concentrations suck the ever-loving-life out of my skin (zinc has strong astringent properties). Without fail, I will look like the crypt keeper by the end of the day with flakes galore... and it doesn't matter how moisturizing the formula may be otherwise. The higher the zinc, the drier my skin. So it's been a struggle for me to find the right fit with mineral sunscreens. This one will now be in my regular rotation. 1. It has a sufficient, but low zinc content (4%) with the addition of the much more forgiving titanium dioxide (also 4%). 2. Zero white cast. Period. 3. There are 3 tints to choose from (I wear the fair-to-light, as I'm quite pale). My only wish is that the undertone was less cool/pink. This is always a problem for me, as my skin's undertone is yellow (and no one seems to care about us bananas). 4. No shine! Thank the heavens... I was so tired of looking like a mirror ball after dutifully applying my SPF. And that brings us to the "dry" issue that some people have pointed out. This formula has a true matte finish (not like the others you've tried that claim to be matte and are still dewy... this one is matte for dayyyys). While this product may have a dry touch formulation, it is not DRYING. As in, it is not going to actually dehydrate your skin. Shea butter is the 2nd (inactive) ingredient. The formula also contains vitamin B5, vitamin E, and squalane. I have zero issues with this product drying out my already desert-like skin. Just be sure to moisturize first, which you should be doing anyway. However, if your skin does not tolerate silicones (which actually help prevent TEWL, by the way), you may not care for this product. 5. It's truly sweat and water resistant! Like, this stuff is not budging until you tell it to scram. And you'll need to double cleanse to remove it, which again, everyone should be doing anyway. I like to jog outside in the sun. I will have beads of perspiration pouring down my face. This sunscreen is totally unfazed. It never runs, gets greasy, or moves in the slightest. It also doesn't get into your eyes and cause stinging. 6. I love that this is SPF 50 (until now, I had only found the formulations of SPF 30 to be bearable). 7. It is cosmetically elegant... lightweight, silky, smooth... not sticky, tacky, or greasy AT ALL. 8. It's affordable! Hallelujah!! Aside from the pink undertone that I don't love, there is one other con. Eucalyptus extract is a known skin sensitizer... one of the worst offenders, actually. It doesn't irritate me, but it surely will be an irritant for some. I'm not sure what purpose it's serving here, except for AG being able to call the product "botanical." I'd love to see them nix it altogether and add something more soothing and tolerable for all skin types. How about aloe? It's botanical and almost universally tolerated. Lastly, I have not yet tried this product under foundation, as I don't tend to wear it regularly. But it is important that it plays well with my make up when I do wear it. So I'll have to test it out. I've seen mixed reviews on that. Some love it under make up, some find that it fails as a base. I'd love to hear more opinions in that respect.

Amazing Sunscreen!!
Just spent a week at the beach and was in the sun everyday, this stuff worked amazingly well. It says 80 minutes but it really lasts for days. I was in the ocean almost everyday and put this stuff on my legs and didn't wash my legs with soap the first few days and it still provided protection. I usually get burned within an hour being in the sun, being that I have really light skin. I was surprised how long I could last on the beach and how many days it stayed on my legs with 1 very thin application and it still protected my skin from burning on day 3. The only place I was burned was at the top of my feet where I had sand stuck to my feet when I put on the sunscreen for the 1st time. In addition, this tint is awesome for people that glow when they go outside. It adds just a little tiny bit of tint to even out your skin and not look so ghostly white on the beach. I went in the ocean several times and this doesn't wash off unless you scrub it off with a lot of soap. I purchased the medium tinted sunscreen even though my skin tone is nowhere near the color of tint medium is. When you rub it in evenly, it blends into the skin and doesn't look odd, not your color or too tan. That is if you use just enough to spread it everywhere evenly and rub it in really well. If you use more and don't rub it in very well, you could probably get a tan base if that is what you are looking for. Let it dry before putting anything on, its like makeup and gets on your clothes if it not dry. For the people that want a subtle tint where your legs haven't seen the light of day in a long while, I recommend this color. This is perfect for going out to the beach or lake, it stays on very well and for a very long period of time and is a natural mineral sunscreen which is amazing. This company did a great job on this product. I used this on my body, not my face as my makeup already has a 50spf in it. I can't tell you how it looks on the face. I am usually allergic to mineral makeup and I get hives. I tested this on my legs first and no reactions from the minerals like the mineral makeup I have used in the past. I then put it on the rest of my body and had no reactions, rash or hives. It did its job way better than expected. Would definitely purchase again. I purchased 2 bottles and used maybe a quarter size sunscreen on my entire vacation. A little goes a long way

Not greasy and blends well
Non-greasy and blended in perfectly with my skin tone. Very pleased with this product and going to be rebuying, as it's the first tinted sunblock I've found that is not oily on my skin, which is so important as I live in a really hot country!

Good
Have made a mistake in ordered a darker shade but since its summer totally workable. Matt finished and non greasy. However it does transfer on clothes. Tissue. Mask. (Everywhere). But i liked that i dont have to put on foundation, i use this instead. Will repurchase in lighter shade.

Select the correct tan colour!
Matte and does not smudge when applied on skin unless applied on top of another layer of greasy sunblock!

Sun kissed
Love this foundation. Very light but still gives coverage and also gives protection against the sun.It does come in different skin tones so check before ordering. If fair skinned make sure you order lightest shade.
