Vornado 733 Full-Size Whole Room Air Circulator Fan

This is the best fan I ever bought! Every year, I used to buy 2-3 box fans to circulate the air from the heater / air conditioner in our home. The box fans were not very effective, and always died within a year. I finally realized I should search for the best cooling fan and this is what came up. After reading the reviews, I bought this model.This fan is amazing!! It actually circulates air around the room, not just pushing it a couple feet in front of the fan. It makes the whole room temperature more even so when you sit or stand up, you don't notice a dramatic temperature shift (ie: all the hot air sitting near the ceiling). I don't have ceiling fans so this fan is the best! It's like a ceiling fan that sits on my floor. I put in front of our inadequate AC and so far (it hasn't really gotten hot yet this year) it is working great. The room cools off much more quickly and more importantly, stays cool. I want another one of these for my bedroom! I like that it can change angle easily, is smaller sized, and low profile. I have not tripped over it once, unlike the final lingering box fan in the hallway, which I trip over daily. It is also much quieter than I expected. Of course, there is the noise of wind blowing, but it is nothing like it used to be when I would put 3 fans in the living room just to try to make it tolerable in the summer even with the AC. I don't feel like I live in a wind tunnel anymore. I love this fan!

This thing moves air. It scales down to a small breeze with very little noise all the way up to what feels like an industrial air handler which is of course much louder. Excellent fan and it helped keep our family cool when the local temps hit 120!

Choose Your Vornado Fan & Other Fans for Their Intended Purpose --- by taking time to research and understand what each will and will not do.Vortex Circulation --- This fan moves air in a single direction, and can be position so the air in a single room is circulated. Additionally this fan will do a good job in moving air from one room to another room. Why would one want to do this? If you have a window or portable air conditioner in one room and would like to move the cooler air to another adjacent room this is a good prospect for you. While the technical claim is that it will move air 100 feet, my experience is that you can easily feel the air moving between 20 and 25 feet.Whisper Quiet --- On low and medium this is a very quiet fan and on high it is acceptable quiet too.3 Speeds --- low (which is very slow), medium (which is medium), and high (which is at its maximum)Multi-directional Airflow --- this feature works well and is an interesting concept. One just sets it down so it blows straight up, at a 45 degree angle, or a 90 degree angle as shown. No adjustments and all have a useful purpose.Easy to Clean --- Yes. I would also suggest an inexpensive furnace filter to place behind the fan, either this one or a box fan that can be placed in a window to draw air into your home. One may find that a 20 by 20 inch box fan with a 20 by 20 inch furnace filter behind it will be the best choice in a window. The furnace filter will keep the box fan relatively clean and remove a significant amount of debris from the air and will need to be changed every month or two.5 Year Warranty --- Time will tell about the need for this. It is made in China. The design is well thought out and the price is set high compared to other fans.In summary --- The information provided by the manufacturer could be more helpful in explaining the differences in these fans. "Buyer Beware." Think through carefully the purpose for your fan. Box fans can be found at much less of a price, yet, these VORNADO fans when you choose the right one for your job will likely be a better choice in many applications. You will just pay the top dollar for its benefits and features.My big important point --- The stated fan air moving in distance in my opinion and experience is over stated for practical value. At best my experience in feeling the air move stops at a maximum of 1/3 of this company's stated distance. Maybe a systems probe can measure at the claimed distances yet I cannot and I do have feeling in my hands. You will need to be the judge of this for yourself.Do you homework and you should make a wise purchase.

Can't speak for it's longevity yet but the biggest flaw I've noticed is there are a lot of ranges where the thing makes strange noticeable whining-like noises. Finding a sweet spot isn't hard though. If you find a sweet spot everything below 90% is pretty quiet. Sadly once you push it to 100% it's as loud as a box fan.-1 Star for coming with an external power brick.+1 Star for coming with a detachable power brick with a common barrel/laptop plug. Should drastically increase the longevity of the thing.

Muy buena potencia y bajo ruido, mi esposa tiene el sueño muy ligero y podemos dormir con el equipo funcionando (lo que es un gran avance para mi), muy recomendado para mantener frescas las habitaciones donde se coloca, distribuye de manera muy eficiente el viento.

Si me gusto a secas, vaya no esperen tampoco que haga remolinos pero si funciona bien y ha ayudado a mejorar el ambiente de la casa, eso si, si van a comprar este producto haganlo siempre y cuando este de oferta, yo lo compre asi y no me arrepiento, de lo contrario jamas lo recomendaría por su alto precio.

I bought the 733 Full-size and it's definitely not as quiet as some people say it is. Also, this is a 16" tall by 15" wide behemoth. Even on the lowest speed the noise factor is equivalent to the second speed of my cheap 12" 20$ home depot fan. The good thing is that even though it's ever so slightly louder, it pushes a ton more air. You don't feel it because of the radius over which it pushes air but it's a huge improvement over any other fan I've ever owned. The whole head is outputting air, compared to regular fans that always have that dead zone in the middle. Aimed right, this unit is full of potential. And for those that care, the white noise is a very good and constant sound on low, and more like a blower fan the higher you go.The thing that I don't understand is why all these knob fans have the speeds from high to low instead of low to high. I mostly use it on low and it's kind of a pain when I have to go through all the other settings to shut it off.

I'm very pleased with the performance and quality of this fan. I primarily use it during workouts to keep me cool, it works great. Airflow is a wide and forceful, definitely circulates a large room. I have other fans of theirs, all are good quality, though this one is my favorite. After 1 year, it's working like brand new, never had any issues or concerns, and I expect it to last a long time. Recommended.

Push a lot of air but can get pretty loud.I have one in my bedroom and have to keep it at the lowest speed or it is way too loud to sleep.Good thing is that it still push a lot of air at the lowest speed.
