I read other reviews before ordering and was expecting the insert to need straightening, however, after it arrived, I verified it is true and flat with zero deflection. As for the surface, it is an exact match to the one in the Bosch router table, which I also own. This insert was purchased to set up a second router in a new cutting/routing station.

When my prior router table, particle board top, warped I decided to spend my time making a more robust unit that would NOT warp. I like the various snap in rings of various hole sizes, although now that I as using a dust collector (one of my best purchases ever) I don't have to clean up chips anymore and no dust. I have a Bosch soft start router and although it doesn't seem to have quite the power of my old Milwaukee routers (can't get replacement collets) I needed a new router, this time a plunge router, which has been useful. Making LOTS of raised panel doors, moldings and such and a router with a "micrometer adjustment" has clearly reduced setup time. Bosch makes good stuff and this table plate is quality as well.

Purchased due to the price. It fits my Bosch 1617 router which has the above table lift built-in. A bit too many holes and recesses on the top surface, but it is definitely a universal fit. Red plastic inserts sit a bit low and I needed to shim them up with gaff tape. Corners are a bit smaller radius than the top brand inserts. Keep that in mind when routing your top on a custom table. Does not have standard guide pin holes, but I can drill into that my own no problem. This unit is designed to work with the Bosch router table, so those are the concessions I made for the price.

I was a little nervous getting this and seeing that someone couldn't fit their Bosch 1617EVS router to it. But other's had no problems and neither did I. To some extent, I can see how someone could be confused. The router plate has 18 available holes and the router itself has 9 holes that you can screw into. The trick is finding the ones that line up. I've included photos indicating which holes to use on the router and plate. They supply you with several screws for this. You'll want to use the largest ones. I'm actually planning on going to the hardware store to get pan head screws which would be more appropriate than the beveled head screws included.As everyone pointed out, the inserts don't fit correctly and are short. I hope I can correct this. I'd pay extra if someone supplied better inserts.

I expected a flat surface to do work on my router table, but the inserts are not flat with the metal surface (are below the metal surface). I mistakenly did not check this because Bosch makes very good stuff. So I found this issue out after I routed my table for the new plate and did a test route. I added some duct tape to build it up and make it flat, but the surface is not smooth or slippery where you need it most. The metal part is dead flat and fits my Bosch router with the top side adjustment just fine.

Just received the router table insert and I’m very happy with it. I am updating my homemade router table with a Bosch router and I could have just fit it to the existing homemade polycarbonate plate but this will be much easier. And it’s made to fit the router. Made of cast aluminum and seems to be very sturdy. I need to fit it in my table but that’s no big deal.

Small mix up on inserts. Customer service made it more than right immediately. The plate is perfectly flat and mounts up to my Bosch 1617EVSPK router with no problems. I am able to make adjustments from above table. Pay no attention to people who say it doesn't work with Bosch 1617. I don't understand how they do any kind of work if they can't figure out which holes to use. TIP: Adjustment knob is on front of plate where it should be. Buy with complete confidence from Buckeye Tool Supply.

I tried many positions to try and get this to fit. It will not lineup with more than one hole, making the otherones useless. There is another model # plate that the reviews say will work. I will try that one and write a review.
