Beautiful lights but don't pull insulating sheet until ready to install!
Order Placed: August 27, 2020I received my order very quickly but was working and didn’t get them installed for about a week. They are very lovely at night-like crystal balls. The posts on my deck are 3 1/2” by 3 1/2” but I cut thin black foam sheeting into 3/4” by 2” pieces and hot glued four pieces on the inside of each light. I had to get longer screws but they were easy to install; I just pre-drilled each hole and the screw goes in easily. If you only screw them in half way, you can make any adjustments to the base to ensure that they are centered and then finish tightening them. I only ran into one problem; While I was gluing the foam pieces into the base I then pulled the insulating sheet and set the light back on the Styrofoam to protect it from being damaged. I was not going to be able to put them on deck posts until the next day so I put the boxes of lights back into the packing box - and when I shut the lid . . . the lights came on because it was dark. I would suggest leaving the insulating sheet in place until just before mounting. My lights stayed on all night because it was dark inside that box. When I mounted them the next day they didn’t have time to charge fully but that was my fault for not paying attention. The next night (following a sunny day) I couldn’t wait until dark. When I went outside I saw that two of the lights didn’t come on. I removed the screws on the first light and saw that I had missed one of the insulating sheets. It worked immediately after removing it. The second light just did not work. When I installed the four lights on the back deck, one of them did not come on at all and the insulating sheet had been removed before installing.Overall I am very happy with my purchase. The lights are beautiful and bright enough to see without turning on the porch light but not so bright that they draw flying insects. They were a little large for the posts but a little imagination, a hot glue gun and foam sheeting remedied that challenge. Two of the lights did not work at all and those were my “‘back up/just in case something happens to one of the other lights.” I have had many compliments already and will be buying more lights soon.

Festive, solid quality
When I moved into a new house all the old deck post-top lights were dead. I went shopping for replacements and stumbled onto these. On impulse I decided to give them a try. Long story short, I really like them, and so do my guests. The glass or heavy plastic spheres are very solid and substantial. Installation was trivial. I actually had my mechanically inexperienced daughter do most of them. Just be careful not to overtighten the screws and crack the plastic mountings. The lights are bright without being harsh, and the colors are rich. The lights continue to glow brightly for many hours after sunset. The consensus was that they create a very festive atmosphere. My only asterisk is that in the winter months, the lights never get very bright. No doubt the batteries don't like the cold. On the other hand I am not spending much time on my deck during those months anyway. When it got warmer in the spring, the lights became bright again. In summary I am very pleased with this purchase.

Not bright enough, but cute.

These are so cool!
I wanted post lights for my porch that matched the colors of my other RGB post lights and these worked beautifully. The lights themselves are pretty, at night the color transition is smooth and very pretty. If you're looking for outdoor lights that are different, these fit the bill.

Very pretty! (All but one)
We are in the process of redoing our deck. I loved the look of the sparkly colored balls. I read the reviews, seeing that some people had trouble with some of them not working. I was concerned, but really liked the way they looked, so I took the chance. They all charged up and light up, which is great! Sometimes a ball is not as bright, but the other solar "pop" ljghts that we have in the yard for the dogs may affect them. When it's darker out, they all light brightly and change colors. I'm going to order another set to finish the deck rails.Edit: I've decided not to order another set. While I do love the way they look, one light has already stopped working! I'm very disappointed.

Sunny locations only
These really put on a colorful show, If there is enough sunlight to charge them. Unfortunately, I bought these solar lights in October 2020 and the shorter daylight hrs. and the area where my current lights normally are mounted don't get direct sunlight all day. (My current dingy solar lights still function fine with the ambient sunlight available)You have to make sure you install these lights early AM ( Battery charger is a plus) to get an adequate charge for them to illuminate in the evening. There is NO easy battery access after mounting them. Hence you must remove the entire one-piece globe assembly to replace the battery. Built quality is good. ( FYI - If you get some M4 thread knobs and M4 T nuts, you can remove the globes easier for battery access ) optional.I ordered six of these Solar lights and 4 needed batteries, They come two to a box. Someone removed the batteries and then resealed the boxes. Probably A returned item. I contacted the seller but they quickly threw it back at amazon. All I needed were the batteries and they refuse to send me a set.The lights all work, I happen to have extra rechargeable batteries and installed them anyway. But after one day and night, they don't illuminate anymore. The built-in solar panels require direct sunlight, Ambient is not enough. Not recommended for shaded, or partial sunlit locations. 4 were Returned/Missing parts.I kept two of the globes and returned the rest and to keep them lit I use rechargeable batteries and charger to rotate them out to at least get a colorful effect on my porch posts.
