Don't let the low price bias you - A quality Rugged phone with all the features you need
I have deliberately waited for 2 months before writing this honest review - do not let the price of this phone make you think it is going to be poor quality or not have many features. This is definitely not the case - please read on:Having used this phone for 2 months now, I have concluded that, unless you are a professional film maker or photographer, thousands of people are buying very expensive phones at over £40 - £60 per month over 2 to 2.5 years in the UK + expensive insurance, when they don't need too!The only three negative points for me (which moved this '5 star phone' to '4 stars' based only on my whole initial experience in setting it up) were:(1) The phone charger did not work (Phone is supplied by law with only 30% charge due to airplane health and safety rules, so you have to begin by charging it) - I saw a red wavy screen, on plugging in the first charger, which appeared to say the phone was charging, but it was not. Only if you get a 'blue wavy screen' saying charging, is then the charger actually charging. This colour aspect is not mentioned fully in the instructions. The charger was supplied in a separate packet to the phone (which is odd as the main box is so classy like an I-PAD package & does has space) - so it must be sourced separately by the supplier - this aspect is not a criticism. But I had to ask the supplier twice for a replacement and this did take a long time to arrive. Unfortunately, it finally arrived in 'European plug form' and not UK, so I am going to use it for holidays (when they return!) and, for now, have used an old Samsung charger for UK use instead.(2) At certain angles, when the virtual keyboard is 'out for use', it can flicker and it is then difficult to keep it stable to be able to type properly in Messenger, What's App or Texts - but this seems to be a rare event.(3) Very basic instructions (very small pamphlet) are supplied - once my new phone was charged and actually working - it did not work on the internet properly for data. I had to search on You Tube to find out that you need to contact your mobile network supplier so they can talk you through filling in the 'APN details' - follow the 'Settings', 'Network & Internet','Mobile Network', 'Advanced',& then, after a slight scroll, find the "Access Point Names" Screen !!!However - many positive points, which now outweigh my "new user trying to set it all up" experiences:(1) Battery, at 8000mah, only needs charging once a week - that's why they claim that the phone (with a small extra cable supplied) can also be used to charge other people's devices in an emergency - it's true!;(2) Photos - at high enough quality or resolution for me to be perfectly happy with them;(3) Uses latest Android 9.0 - the same software in many more expensive phones;(4) Good sound quality for calls on speaker;(5) Easy to upload my previous phone's contacts via my PC - you have to work this out yourself - no instructions supplied - look for something which says .vcf with one card showing - when in fact, there will be lots of contacts on the file, if you have linked up your previous phone to your PC or 'cloud';(6) Has inbuilt flashlight (which is powerful due to the 8000mah battery) + has software features which could be used outdoors for survival and camping - leveller indicator, compass and couple more interesting ones I forget;(7) Although the phone is heavier than more expensive models, due to the battery, it still compact but the weight and rubber corners turn this into a highly protected phone + it is waterproof for quite some time, even if submerged, as all the ports have rubber covers you seal and press down with your fingers when not in use (use a biro pen to open them on one side when needed - e.g. the bottom charging slot, for example); So, in Summary, would I buy another Oukitel phone - perhaps at an even higher price point with more rugged protection and features - despite, my initial setting up experiences, I would still say, 'YES I would!'.Honestly, you don't need to buy more expensive phones (which have the same software anyway), as you are only really buying the facilities for film making or photography.Having smashed the screen in my last expensive phone due to dropping it on cobbles....I'm sticking with phones like the rugged ones from Oukitel from now on - where the price, also means you don't need to pay for insurance - replacing something as good as this for only £140 would be a far more sensible option, especially when some suppliers want to charge you £110 anyway, for simply replacing a phone screen, which does not always work and it is a process which comes with all sorts of risks.Should you buy one..... 100% YES - especially if all you need is a safe phone in terms of protection with all the usual features & services you need from a phone these days, but are not worried about becoming a professional film maker or photographer! If you are an avid 'RV-er', caravanner, camper, traveller, then between the ruggedness and the battery - this phone is going to be perfect match for you and you'll be very glad to bought it (once fully charged ok, of course!) - Derek

Battery life good, camera very bad
I wanted to try this phone to use at work, delivering parcels. The camera is very bad. I had to wait a few seconds at every scan for camera to focus the image. I need to scan 200 parcels in the morning and to wait a few seconds for every single parcel it takes a while. Then going out and delivering is the same problem. When i take a picture in a safe place i needed to wait to focus the image. The sim card just got out of the slot in the first day as is not very good fixed the sim slot. The design is nice, battery very good, but not good enough for what i need.

Software issue again 2nd time
I returned the first phone due to the keypad flickering out of control. I took a chance to reorder another phone, same make and model, the same issue occurred. I have now spoken to Amazon and they have informed me they will investigate the product and supplier.

Perfect for work.
I'm using this phone to deliver parcels with, and I like very much my new device because it has a long battery and the sat navigation is very accurate.

Very very impressed
I bought this as an emergency backup phone to use with a roaming SIM - the phone itself is very well built to withstand harsh treatment and functionality wise is well specified. However, what has totally blown me away is the incredible battery life - I turned it on with the intention of running the battery down so I can recharge it (normally need 5 charge cycles to prime the lithium batteries for maximum efficiency) - Well 10 days later - yes 10 days later - the battery is still showing 35% capacity - ok , i haven't used the phone, just left it sitting there using up the battery - but 10 days and with still 35% capacity is impressive to say the least

The Phone For Workers
Really had to have a look at this phone after seeing reviews on youtube..I very seldom write reviews but feel that this is such a good piece of kit it is worth letting other people know.Had this phone for a while now...really can't fault it. Stable, good battery life, no bloatware etc. Only thing i had to set up were apn settings for my carrier.Sure, people may fault it on the camera being slow to focus but were not talking ages & it's not the best of cameras in the dark.....some people may say its a big phone.... it's not big, just thicker than alot of phones. As i have large hands it actually feels quite small to me.The plus's.....it has a great battery life (i mean you can actually use it constantly for 8 hours a day)...is extremely robust, nothing in the operating system you don't need....stable..... fingerprint scanner works flawlessly as does everything else on it.Downside's...none really...there are a few things i would have liked..Wireless Charging.NFC2 Sim card slots & sd slot at same time. But Hey-Ho.....for this sort of money you can't complain.I use a phone as a tool & this definitely ticks all of the boxes. Can't really understand why anyone would pay 2-3 times more, especially if you have to contend with bloatware & manufacturers ui interfaces. If you want a phone to use as a tool & don't mind it being a bit thicker & heavier then this is the phone for you...if on the other hand you like to slip your phone in your shirt pocket....then its a def no-no.Ideal for anyone who actually does physical work, builders, plumbers, joiners etc, or goes climbing. I can understand why lots of couriers are buying them

Just the job
Great lump of kit. Massive battery. Pretty much indestructible. Terrible camera though.I just dropped mine overboard into a lake. Given its ruggedness and massive battery, I suspect it will be found by some future space humans in the 25th century and still be on stand-by. They'll probably think the 21st century was slightly out-of-focus.
