This was a great purchase for my 2020 HD Breakout 114. I've had this for a few months now and have had no issues with it at all. I have ridden in heat, rain, and cold with it.It is easy to wire in and allows me to not have to disconnect my USB charger to prevent the battery from draining (many of them keep pulling some juice, especially if you have a wireless charging head on your bike. The unit will stay active for one hour after I turn off the bike (so I can still charge the phone for a bit) but automatically turns off after that. It also has a meter that gives you an idea of the battery condition.The end of the chord where you plug your device's USB cable into has a gasket around it that is easy to plug into but does a great job at keeping water and dirt out.Be aware that the unit is one continuous chord with the power box in the middle. Not a big deal, but good to be aware of when you are planning how to run the wire through your bike.Very pleased with this purchase.

Actually the cabling can be a bit longer than needed. Howe6, it is most definitely there for when you might actually need it. As in a jump another motorcycle situation, so the length of the cable is most likely shorter than you really are going to need it to be. This is definitely an add on that I have already recommended numerous times. It's on you to listen to that recommendation and do something about it. BTW why are you still reading this and NOT ordering...???

I used this for my cell phone while running deliveries for DoorDash. So and go connect and disconnect frequently. Yet the optimate kept my phone charged and above 80% all day. The ordering, delivery,and packaging 📦 were exalting what I'd expected. I am very pleased.Thank YouExcellent Service!

These SAE/USB chargers are excellent. However, I noticed my phone would frequently quit charging on a 2019 KTM 300xc that was running an aftermarket headlight which basically used up ALL the available wattage from the stator. Puzzled, I ordered another and quickly had the same problem. Turns out the protection circuitry was cutting off the power when the bike charging voltage was low at low RPM. I had to go back to a lower quality "dumb" charger for that bike. However on bikes with larger stators and more useable excess power, these are absolutely fantastic. They will definitely turn off below a certain voltage though, so keep that in mind.

Very nice charger to have installed for an all day ride. Was easy to install and I’ve enjoyed using the product. Arrived fast and no issues so far.

This product is well constructed and works as a USB charger but had to deduct 2 stars because within a week of installation it drained my battery and my motorcycle wouldn't start. I left it on but disconnect it after every ride and it hasn't been an issue since. Annoying to have to do this but it is what it is.

Bought this one year ago for powering my wireless charger for my phone on my 2021 Road Glide Limited. I installed it last July, 2021 and now it has stopped working. Lights come on but there’s now power coming out of the USB end. Never really got to use it. Was part of my setup for this summers touring.

First, it's great to not have a USB cable running from the USB under the seat to my phone. I now have a nice, discreet USB zip tied to the phone holder mount and use a short, 6" cable. Couldn't be happier. I give the product five starts. I give the company ten stars. I had a wee issue with the unit a few months after purchase. I emailed Tecmate. They responded almost immediately with a full resolution to the issue. They even texted the next day to make sure everything was ok, got me in touch with one of their technicians (phone or email, whatever was convenient for me). The response was, basically: Whatever you need, exchange, tech help ... anything ... let us know and we'll take care of it. Fantastic service.

I like the product and the design but one thing really disappointed me. It eventually drains the battery even with no usb device plugged in. Installed on 14 December 2022 and it appeared to function as advertised. I went to start the bike on 1st January 2023 and the optimate had completely drained the battery. The bike could not be started. Barely a click let alone movement from the starter motor. So what they don’t tell you is the monitoring function uses a significant amount of power and does not truly disconnect when the battery is low. It just keeps on draining the battery. Quite a misleading specification and a risky item to leave attached to your bike. So now I will have to go back to disconnecting the SAE connector when I’m not riding the bike. This for me was the whole point of getting the optimate. Oh well. Nice idea but failed in practice.
